We absolutely love these lights. We have 9 of them, as well as 16 other hue lights, all wirelessly connected to one hub. They work great. The only thing I wish they were true downlights. Because they do light up an entire room instead of lighting only beneath it. Other than that, they are perfect.

Easy to install, plug and play into a Hue Hub, and really fun to have around! However, they don't work seamlessly with a dimmer switch and you will see flickering. and the occasional light being out. Overall a great buy and the Hue software interface is very easy to use and configure.

Purchased this for part of my Media Room Lighting, mostly rear effect. Hue never fails in their lighting products, easy to set up and design into your lighting scheme. Installed several more of these throughout the home to replace old dated recessed lighting. They retrofit easily to my existing lighting cans.

For retrofitting (or even new build) recessed lighting, these are great. I like the look a lot better then the Hue Bulb option, as this gives a solid lens that attaches right to the provided trim ring (all one piece). They are a snap to install. I refit a room with these, and plan to continue in the whole house.

I love these lights and they will look amazing in the living room that I am renovating. I cannot wait for the ceiling to be complete so I can hang these lights up. I know they’ll be amazing because all Philips hue products are amazing. I have lots of them.

I can’t give it 5* rating, as I think the Wiz sister light is better build physically. The Hue version use the 3 clip support system that may or may not give you troubles getting a snug held to the ceiling flat install. I’ve installed the 3 clip system many time is the past, however my cans aren’t installed 100% right and the clips just won’t work well with them. I could have caulked them in place, but these are smart lights that you may need access to the inside at any given moment. I cannibalized any old set of halogen retro fit to remove the spring system and made a makeshift system to support them on the Hue bulbs without damaging/modifying the light in anyway. The Wiz light uses the spring system and holds tight (if you cans have the spring bracket inside...). That said I replaced 2 Wiz lights with the Hue ones as I needed a smart light proper switch to make these two lights ( 4 total but others where A19 types) compatible with a sleeping partner and not wanting to wake them talking to Alexa... Wiz still lacks 3rd party support for seamless smart lighting when you in a generation that doesn’t want to carry a phone with you all the time to bypass talking to your voice assistant... Or if teaching visitors how to use your lights... we invited them to visit, not hold a class on smart lighting :/ Anyway, beyond the mounting system which may not be an issue for you, the lights are great in every other way. The addition of 2 Aurora Smart-light Dimmers the system is now user friendly, be it visitors or us two old farts that live here rofl

Purchased two to replace CFL recessed downlights that went out. Had to do a little bit of wiring work but once installed and synced to a Philips Hue Bridge, these lights are working perfectly. Paired it to a Philips dimmer switch to have easy presets available.

Great Bulb, Not Sure Color Option is Worth Extra

I installed four can lights in my home-office and wanted to be able to control the lights from my smartphone, so I added on to the Hue platform with these devices. I played around with the color changing options a little bit, but so far I'm not convinced the paying extra for the color was worth it. I like being able to change the white color temperature though (which I believe the standard white ambiance bulb also does). The brightness of the bulb is very good. I have 4 of them installed in a 9'x12' room.

Easy to hook in to WiFi and create rooms. Can control one light at a time or in a specified group. I have 2 rooms set up. One command will turn on all lights, one to turn on one in each room. And one command to turn on a light at a specific brightness, used as a dim morning light.
