These work great behind your TV to backlight the TV. If you want the color of the lights to sync with what is on your TV Hue offers another gadget that you plug your HDMI output into and it changes the lights to match the onscreen content. Pretty cool but not inexpensive.

It is worth it - the lighting is great and easy to use -Set up was very easy and the two sided attachment stick on like glue (make sure you mount it right the first time). Looks great and doesn't heat up the way a lightbulb or strip would.

Addicted to Philips Hue and this was the right choice for lighting the wall behind my TV.
Like all Philips Hue products, it's an easy setup with the rest of your Philips Hue products OR first time. Just make sure you have the Philips Hue Bridge to tie everything together. (You only need one by your internet router)
Four stars because it is overpriced in my opinion. If it were cheaper, I would own more!

Well, it was easy setup, connected to the hub quickly.. and off and running we went! The lights change with all activity of the game and/or movies, very impressive..but just a little on the pricey side, other than the price it’s a great product!

Paired with my DJ mixer i have a professional light show going.... I'll be buying a few more later.. They are on the high end in price. But they are nice. If you can afford them, go ahead and grab em!

I love these lights, so much. Starting my gaming setup I had led light strips, but I wanted a better option for me. These light bars can sync up on your phone and can change to whatever color you want. If you are a gamer, these are the best things you can find.

Very happy with my purchase. Fun to be able to change the colors to what we like only problem with this is I thought that it would automatically change with my TV through the application like advertised in video, but to get it to sync to your TV with color changes you will have to spend another $230 to get the Phillip's Hue Play HDMI Sync Box. Other than that great purchase.

These work well with the hue play box. But for some reason they make cracking sounds every now and then. I suspect something is straining from heat expansion as they get hot. A minor annoyance, but one worth noting as these are not cheap, for the money I’d expect better.
It should be noted the hue sync app is pretty poor. (Used for syncing Hue lights with av)

I live in an apartment, and have these installed in my living room. I use the Hue Bridge (most current as of the day of this review) and on the Hue app on an Apple iPhone Xs running iOS 12.2. They are incorporated into Apple HomeKit. Regarding accessories, I use a Hue Tap Switch. I've owned these for a bit over a month. TOTALLY love them.
I have both of them near a wall, pointed towards the ceiling, to provide diffused light into the room. Setup takes <1 minute, and work seamlessly and unproblematically like all other Hue products. They work perfectly with Siri.
They work with other Hue light Scenes in the room that are pre-programmed, such as Savanna and Arctic. I made my own Scenes as well, to illuminate the room in different colors based on my mood and/or activities (relaxing, reading, tv, movies, gaming, meditating, etc.). Choosing the colors you want is SO much fun!

Once I read about the sync box I knew I needed these for my man cave. They work amazing and we’re simple to set up and add to my group. Adds so much to a movie! Philips products are expensive but there really isn’t anything better on the market!!

I’ve really enjoyed using the Philips Hue Play Light Bars so far. The colors are vibrant, the integration with the Hue app is seamless, and they add a great ambiance whether I’m watching movies, gaming, or just relaxing. Setup was straightforward, and the compact design makes them easy to place behind a TV or monitor.
The only issue I’ve run into was a brief instance of flickering, but it only happened once and hasn’t been a problem since. Otherwise, they’ve been rock-solid.
Overall, a great addition to any smart home lighting setup.

Great product to add ambience to your media room or gaming location. We have two sets of these and have added in a third light on both sets. Great color and adds great ambience to movies etc. Easy to set up.

I use these for accent lighting behind my monitor. They do look nice and subtle, but for the price/size/etc, I thought they'd be brighter. If you're looking for just accent lighting, these are fine, but if you want something more....useful, I'd just use a 2nd-gen Hue lightstrip instead. Much cheaper and MUCH more light, so you can do a lot more with it.

This light adds an incredible ambiance to the space as it illuminates around the tv. Easy to mount and definitely worth the price. I am thinking about getting another kit to give it even more life around the 85 inch TV I have. :)

I love these lights. I have them set up behind my TV aiming at the wall, and they create a great ambience of mood lighting. They are decently bright and still holding up very well.

I bought this for accent lighting behind my TV. They work great and they are adjustable so that you can use them in multiple different ways. You have to have a Hue bridge and the Hue app to use them but setup and connect was very simple.

I mounted them on the back of my TV and love how they came out are brighter than I initially thought the picture online don’t do them justice. They are small but re bright. All the hue profits are great.

The units themselves work great. The setup and pairing was easy. The colors are fantastic. Everything you would expect from a Philips Hue product.
But...
Do not be fooled by their marketing. They do not easily sync with the content on your TV. You'll need Philips Hue Sync running on a PC. Once this is installed, Philips expects you to either connect an HDMI cable or cast the content from your PC to your TV. Only then will the lights sync with your TV. In the age of the streaming device and smart TV, this is not a good solution.
I'm still going to keep the units, as I hope Philips will introduce an installed application for my Fire TV or other smart device to provide better content sync. I've also had no luck getting these lights to sync with my Sonos home speakers.
