Hi! Thank you for your review. We regret to hear that you ran into an issue with your Pasta Maker Plus after 6 months of use and that you haven't been able to get a hold of our colleagues via phone. Of course, that's not the experience we want you to have with our products and service. We kindly recommend you to check if the disc holder is attached to the main unit, if the shaping disc is properly attached and if the front panel and lid are properly attached as well. If that is the case and your device still does not work, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook (Philips) and Twitter (PhilipsCare). Alternatively, you can reach out to us again via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further. Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

With the Phillips Pasta maker I feel like a home c

I love pasta, and I love cooking, but I was always afraid about Italian cuisine, especially when its about making pasta. However, the Phillips pasta maker makes it so simple and effective, and on top of that, I feel more reliable preparing my own fresh delicious homemade pasta instead of buying noodles or pasta without knowing what chemicals or preservatives they might have, even if they say organic, you are not 100% sure. The Philips has everything you need to make pasta the way you like it.
The unit comes reassembled. It looks awesome and very professional. It includes the user manual, a booklet pasta recipe. It also includes 4 sets of shaping discs for the spaghetti, Fettuccine, Penne, and Lasagna, a water/flour cup, a pasta cuter and a cleaning brush, which is very useful every time you need to clean the unit and the shaping discs. The unit also has a drawer where you can place the accessories, a very clever idea so you don’t have to look for those at the time you are needing them. As a first step, read the user manual carefully, and make sure to wash the unit before use.
I also highly recommend to watch a couple of youtube videos that will help you to familiarize with the unit and the way to prepare the mixing for the pasta, it may take some minutes of your time, but it is totally worth it.

For all the pasta I prepared I followed the booklet pasta recipe. The overall pasta process took about ten minutes, add flour (make sure to fill the jar to the top), add water (water with or without egg, that will be of your preference, but make sure you fill at the line indicated in the jar), or you can create different homemade vegetable juices, and that is the real beauty of this, press the automatic button and the Phillips pasta maker will do the rest for you. I live in Las Vegas, so the tap water here is kind of “heavy” for my cooking, for that reason I prefer to use bottle water, to make sure I can get the results I want.
So, if you start boiling the water for ten minutes, at the time that the pasta maker finish you can put the noodles you just made in the boiled water and 5 minutes later your home made fresh noodles are done, you will have your homemade pasta ready to eat! Don’t forget to let the pasta dry if you want superb results, that is just a recommendation from experience, even if you don’t see that in the youtube videos. Don’t get concern about some waste of dough, it is about 40 to 50 gramms, it is not that much, and you can prepare enough pasta for about 3 servings per use.
So far I am very pleased with my pasta maker.

Who would ever imagine making pasta and noodles being this easy. I love the Philips noodle and pasta machine. It was a great addition to our cooking arsenal.
The initial setup is really straight forward. With four adapters, you’ll be making noodles and pasta in no time. We are now able to cook Pastas and various other dishes from scratch. The Philips pasta and noodle maker makes the job a breeze. I love that I no longer have to run to the store to buy pre-made pasta. I’m able to use my own ingredients, so no more worrying about preservatives being present in our food.
Make cooking easier and get it already. I am truly enjoying the Philips pasta maker, and highly recommend it to anyone.

Gluten free first try failure

So far I have only used this machine once and it was to make Gluten Free pasta for my wife. There is a gluten free recipe in the book and we used kitchen scales to measure the ingredients precisely. The mixer seemed to mix the dough ok, but the extraction process simply didn't work. After two full cycles the noodles began to extract from the disc but they were very sticky and did not maintain their shape or consistency. The instruction book clearly states to follow the recipes exactly as they were made specifically for this machine. However the book has a note further down that says you should always use glutenous flour. The machine gets two stars for ease of use and sturdiness from me.

I love fresh pasta and make it fairly often with my food processor and the attachments on my mixer; imagine my excitement when I saw the Philips Avance Pasta Maker. I was in heaven - you mean I’d only have to dirty one machine to make pasta and it wouldn’t be an all day event. I was beyond excited.
But sadly, it was not meant to be. After several attempts, I have yet to produce edible pasta from this thing.
It is a very nice looking machine - it is white and gray; fairly simple in design. It does have a nice, pull out drawer where you can store the pasta discs as well as some of the other little utensils that come with it for making pasta. I liked this about it because it meant that everything would be kept together, all nice and neat.
My first attempt at making pasta I decided to make penne, because that it something I haven’t made fresh in the past. The pasta was sticky and I had to keep opening the hatch to manual push the dough forward so that it would extrude through the pasta disc. I chalked this attempt up to me not reading the directions properly.
I’ve tried to make pasta 3 more times, opting for spaghetti because I thought it was simpler to make. All 3 attempts were unsuccessful - I followed the directions and recipe that came with the pasta maker exactly as it was written and the pasta was inedible. On top of that, I had the same problem with the dough not being pushed out through the pasta disc - it was all stuck on the mixing blade and wasn’t moving through the machine.
The Philips Pasta maker was highly disappointing and overall, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Couldn't make noodles!

I'll start by saying that I have never owned or used a pasta maker until now but thought this might be fun. I was wrong. We followed the instructions in the recipe book (which were extremely vague and unclear), found a recipe, put in one cup of flour and the recommended amount of water. We turned it on, watched it for 3 minutes, and waited for spaghetti noodles to emerge. Nothing. The mixing paddle continued to turn but it never extruded noodles. Instruction book says "try again" if noodles don't come out so we emptied it, and tried again. Same instructions and same result - nothing. We will probably pass this on to a friend and stick with "store-bought" noodles. We were disappointed as we thought this would be a fun kitchen appliance.

So far I love this pasta maker! Just follow the recipe - the dough will look a bit dry but that's ok. It does a great job making the pasta. To clean it, just wait a bit for the little bit of dough to dry a bit, then just wipe it clean. I use the provided cleaning tools to clean the press - easy!

Absolutely horrible. The dough sticks to the auger. There are no instructions on how to use this thing. The book does not include a recipe to ise all purpose flour. The liquid cup is in ml, and the book was is oz. I had high hopes for this machine and after 3 attempts, i took it apart and cleaned it, and its going back in the box. If the pasta is too wet it sticks everywhere....if its too dry it clogs the holes in the pasta disk. And all the extra parts dont even fit in the bottom.
