My wife has terrible allergies and is a back sleeper. That combo results in her snoring and disrupting my sleep. The good news is this band does what it says it will do: vibrate when she's sleeping on her back. That's good news for me as I no longer have to nudge her when she snores. It does take time for someone who's a back sleeper to get used to a new regular position.
The device is a very simple one. There's no app and limited data tracking. It has a built-in adaptation phase over 7 sleep cycles (eg, 7 nights if you use it daily) to let you get used to the vibrations. It thankfully automatically pauses vibrations if you need to get up in the middle of the night (say, to use the bathroom).
Fully charged, the device can be used for 8 sleep cycles. When the battery is low, an orange light blinks letting you know to charge it. You can also do a 1-hour quick charge that's good for one sleep cycle.
One downside is when you wake up, you have to manually press the main button for 2 seconds to let the device know you’re done with the sleep cycle. If you don't and you lay the device down horizontally, it will keep vibrating. It's not a big deal, but early in its use, it's easy to forget to press the button.
The band doesn't stop snoring, it only alerts you if you’re sleeping on your back, and that causes you to snore. If you snore on your side as well, this band will not do anything. And, of course, if there's a reason why you cannot or should not sleep on your side (such as a shoulder injury), you should not use this. Otherwise, this can certainly help you, and more likely your partner, sleep uninterrupted.

Since snoring - the dreaded nighttime combatant - is an unfortunate happening in my household, I figured I’d give this Philips SmartSleep Snoring Relief Band, a try.
During my experimenting with the Snoring Relief Band, I found the vibration disconcerting, and an unnatural way of being woken up. This was something I’d not considered. Unlike what I’d expected it to do - vibrate gently, but not enough to pull me from a sound sleep, signaling me to turn over - instead the vibration proved to be unpleasant, and did indeed cause me to come fully awake, which I would say is the exact opposite of what the device is intended to do.
Additionally, I had my husband try out the device, as he is the one who snores the most. Although the Philips SmartSleep device did work as the instructions state, vibrating to train you to turn onto your side instead of laying on your back, this did little to alleviate my husband’s snoring as it appears he snores no matter what position he sleeps in. So it appears his snoring problem needs handling by other means.
For both of us, it did seem as if the device worked as stated, and adjusted the vibration levels and patterns as time went on, “learning” how our bodies responded, which I did indeed noticeably ‘feel’ as I laid there, coming awake.
The included, and quite detailed ‘Instructions for use’, were very helpful in explaining how to go about setting up the device, what it’s designed for, and what all the digital display readouts mean.
Although I followed the directions with regards to positioning the Snoring Relief Band around my chest, it wasn’t as comfortable as I’d hoped. The material used in the elasticized band itself is really very nice, however; it is soft and pleasant to the touch.
While I had high hopes that this device would be of benefit to me and my husband for our sleeping situation, that proved not to be the case. As for the cost, for what you get and what this device is designed to do, it does seem a bit overpriced to me. I wish I could say that during my time trying out the device, my quality of sleep improved, but it did not. Perhaps some people may find the Philips SmartSleep Snoring Relief Band useful, but in all honesty, I am unable to recommend.

Item for not work. Not as in it didn't stop me from snoring, as in the item never vibrated once. I slept with it many nights and never felt a thing so one night I laid with it for over 3 hours and never felt a thing. Not worth it.

This is a difficult device to talk discuss because how it works (and does) vs. how you think it might work. It is surprisingly low tech and has limited capabilities, but that’s because it’s only trying to help those with a specific problem: back sleepers who snore.
Which is a good place to start as this band isn’t going to help everyone who’s trying to solve their snoring problems. This isn’t a CPAP machine and won’t diagnose sleeping disorders or help you solve ALL snoring problems. It is only meant to help those that snore while sleeping on their back (the instructions inside the box say as much).
IN THE BOX
You’ll find a soft elastic band as well as the “device” itself that fits into the sleeve as well as a charger and an instruction manual. It charges via USB.
SETUP
There’s no app setup (like most smart devices nowadays). You simply turn it on and it begins to do it’s thing. In fact, there’s no setup so to speak, you simply read the instruction manual on placement and what the display means (and how it works) and then you simply use it.
USE
You slip the “device” into the band and you place it around your stomach (between your armpits and your belly button). Then you turn the device on by holding the power button (the only button on it). The device has a built in timer for 30 minutes to give you time to fall asleep. After 30 minutes, it will vibrate whenever you are laying on your back to get you to roll onto your side. In the morning, you can look at the stats to see how you did. You push the power button once and it tells you your response rate (how many times you turned over; you push it again and it will tell you how many hours you were in bed; push it again and it tells you how many hours you were on your back). Note that it doesn’t store any data, it only tells you these “stats” each morning. So you can’t, for example, go see the response rate from 2 nights ago.
I didn’t actually do any type of battery drain testing, but I found the battery to last several nights. I would simply recharge it on my own accord every few nights (plugging it in on my nightstand every couple of mornings).
DOES IT WORK?
Again, I have to start on the premise on how this thing works. It doesn’t detect snoring, it only detects when you’re laying on your back. So it’s not going to help diagnose any snoring issues you might have (you should definitely go to a doctor for that) but it merely helps you if your snoring is caused by positional sleeping such as being on your back.
I have to say that it does what it’s supposed to do and it does it well. When you are sleeping on your back, it vibrates and gets you to switch positions to get the vibrations to stop. And if you snore while on your back (but not your side) then this device would presumably help you. For me, and this is my opinion, I was woken from a deep sleep by the vibrations. So it did its job but there were times that I was abruptly woken (like when someone is shaking your body when you’re asleep) which is extremely jarring. I wouldn’t wake in a panic, but it’s definitely startling and in some instances through my sleep off as a whole.
I can say that my wife thought I was snoring less (although I didn’t cease). So it does work, but there were nights I took it off my body in frustration when I was “shocked” awake.
CONCLUSION
Sleep is important and one of the more overlooked things that we as humans can do to improve our health. I take it seriously as should you. If you have sleeping/snoring issues, this device can be a good start to helping you down the road to better sleep (for you and your partner). But it’s difficult to recommend because of its price coupled with the fact that it may not work for you. If you are struggling with snoring, it would be worth a shot, but know that it’s not a miracle cure. I think if you go in with the right mindset and commit to using it each night and understand how it works (which helps inform you if it’s a good purchase) then I would recommend it since it does work as promised, you just have to make sure that “premise” works for you.

If you snore primarily (or only) on your back this product will help "train" you to sleep in another position.
Pros:
- The band will take about a week to ramp up the intensity on the vibration. This is a nice touch so that you don't jump right in to an intense vibration reminding you to roll over.
- Battery life. I can't tell you how long the battery lasts on this belt because I haven't had to charge it yet. I use it most nights, but it has been a month and still haven't had to charge it.
- Comfort: Let's be honest, wearing something around your chest takes some getting used to. However, I found myself adapting quickly and I hardly notice it (when it isn't vibrating to tell me to roll over).
Cons:
- Would be nice if there was some features or an app to track your sleep. However, that would probably make this much more expensive and significantly impact battery life.

This has stopped my snoring when I am on my back. I feel the buzz and I turn to my side. Everyone in the house says they do not hear my snoring as often. I believe I still snore when I am on my side, but it is still a step in the right direction. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is there is no app or connectivity for this device. I would have loved if I could've connected this to my fitbit account.

I snore. My housemate who lives on the floor above me hears me sometime. I wake up often. I had a cruise ruined because of snoring. I can't afford the cost to go to a sleep study and I suck at dieting. So, I gave this a try.
I am not a small person- 5'8" and 240lbs. When I pulled out the belt I almost laughed, but then I put it on, cinched it up, and I could hardly tell I had it on. I slept with the empty belt the first night while the unit charged just to see if I could tolerate it and I had no problems. The next night was the test. I wrestled the unit into the belt, strapped it on, and went to sleep. The vibration it sends is so gentle yet enough to make you move, so I slept very well. It never slipped down, never pinched...was very comfortable. When I woke up I ran through the sequence the (very poor) display shows (time slept, time on back, and percentage ) and was impressed. I did not recall being woken up to roll over but I guess I did.
The next night I forgot to turn it on but still slept wearing it.
There have been times when I am just so comfortable that I refuse to roll on my side and it continues to vibrate so I eventually do wake up and roll over. Other times I do not believe I am as far on my back as it thinks I am and it starts vibrating.
There was only one BIG con I could find and I am sure will be worked out as technology advances. The display is horrible and sometimes difficult to read.
I think this will be a great tool to help me sleep a bit better and I am very grateful for that.

Effective Snore Relief Band for Back Snorers

I was very skeptical when I opened the package that this device would actually help me stop/slow down my snoring. Please note this device does not stop snoring, but rather makes you aware when you are snoring.
After a night or two of getting used to wearing the band/device to bed, it become unnoticeable. It took about a week of learning for the device to better understand my sleep patterns, but once it did, it would make me aware when I was snoring on my back. It vibrates, getting stronger if you don't shift, to let you know you are snoring. In most cases, it made me shift my sleeping position before I got the elbow from the wife.
I also snore on my side and the device isn't effective for that. But for snorers who often sleep on their back, this device will work for you.
The few downsides/negatives for the device are 1) if you are a light sleeper, the device maybe enough to wake you up 2) it doesn't incorporate into any health app so very limited history.

I don't have a huge snoring problem but I'm told by my wife that it has kept her up some nights. I decided to try the Philips - SmartSleep Snoring Relief Band to see if it helped. I can say it definitely has reduced the problem. I generally sleep on my side but sometimes roll onto my back. The band produces a gentle vibration to let you know when you have rolled onto your back. It took several nights to get used to having something wrapped around my mid section when I went to bed. At first, I was very conscience of the band but got used to it after a few days.
There were a few times when I was in a deep sleep that the vibration woke me up. The technology supposedly learns about your sleep patterns and adjusts when it vibrates based on how the algorithm reads your sleep patterns.
This may not be for everyone. If you are a big person, the band probably won't fit you so Phillips will have to make an extension band. It is also another thing you will have to charge each day so you will have to get into that routine.
All-in-all this technology is a win for people with a snoring problem and their partners!

I have been using the Philips SmartSleep Snoring Relief band for several weeks now with what I would say are mixed results. First, it took a couple of nights to get used to wearing the band. It’s not uncomfortable, just something different in your sleep routine. The first week will seem like it’s really not doing anything, but it takes several nights for the device to learn your sleep patterns and routines. Give it some time. After that first week, the wife actually commented on how she thought my snoring had decreased since I’d been wearing it. That sentiment faded over the next few weeks and she admitted it might have just been wishful thinking. Apparently, I tend to snore in virtually any position, although it is definitely more pronounced when I’m on my back. Keep in mind, all this device does is buzz when it senses you are on your back to encourage you to roll over. If you snore as a side sleeper, look elsewhere because this band won’t do a thing for you. In all fairness, Philips does advertise this as a solution for positional snorers, and I believe it does work as advertised. Unfortunately, it’s not the best solution for me. Finally, although touted as a “smart” device, there is no app, no HealthKit integration, and no apparent way to keep up with your results apart from manually writing them down each morning. Maybe adding this functionality would have caused the device to be too thick or heavy? Hard to say but I would appreciate some sort of integration to track the data.

I got the SmartSleep Snoring Relief Band for my wife. The snores like a lumberjack. Within a 2 week time, It was doing what I used to tell her to do, to get on her side. the module in the belt would quietly alert her that she was moving to her back. It was training her to stay put. And it also displayed data like how long she slept. How long she was on her back. But it works best when you use the sleep analyzer from Phillips. The battery life is great. The only issue for her was the belt would move around frequently but that's probably only because she didn't want it snug at first. I highly recommend this for anyone that snores your bed partner will love you.

Perhaps My Wife Should Write this Review

So....I snore. I didn't know about it until my wife started jabbing me in the side every night. To try and get us both a better night sleep I have tried many products to help me out with this. The thing is...none of them have worked.
When I saw the Philips - SmartSleep Snoring Relief Band I wasn't sure what to think. The concept is simple enough. It is designed to help people who snore when they lay on their back. When the device detects that you have rolled onto your back it sends you gentle vibrations to prompt you to roll on your side. Like I said simple enough. I was worried that it would be annoying, and lead to interrupted sleep. In practice it is not that disruptive, and has helped me to stay on my side.
The downsides are few. You have to sleep with something strapped to you, and you have to keep it charged.
If you can make this small commitment it will help provide both you and your partner with a better more sound night of sleep.
Overall I am glad I tried out the Philips - SmartSleep Snoring Relief Band. Thanks Philips!

I have been trying this out for about a month now. First the good. The band is very comfortable. I am a very picky sleeper and i am never bothered by wearing it. The data shows that it has helped me snore 26% less than i was before based on the data it collected including sleep times and time on my back. Where it falls apart just a bit is the functional inconsistencies. You have to write down the data daily as it isn't stored in the device for more than a day and i am not aware of an app to log the data which seems silly in 2019. I have found that a few of the nights the data was zero even though my wife confirmed i was on my back and snoring. The other thing i didn't like was the device itself is plastic which is fine but there is no grip whatsoever when taking it out of or putting it back into the band. Philips should have had some kind of texturing or rubber border or really anything to make this easier without the risk of dropping the device. Overall as stated in the title it absolutely does work and most would happily take less snoring using a device this simple to wear and operate. This is not a problem solver in my opinion but it certainly is helpful and useful. I would recommend it to others.

The Philips SmartSleep Relief Band helps to reduce snoring if your snoring problem is not serious. It sends vibrations to you while you sleep to alert you to change your sleeping position.
It's operation is simple: just place the band around your chest and turn it on. Your body will receive minor vibrations as you sleep.
It may take a few nights to get accustomed to having the band around your waist. Don't expect immediate results.
Although this device did not totally eliminate snoring, it did help with reducing it. Be aware that if you have a serious snoring problem, this is not the solution for you. Check with your doctor!
