Although ive never used another brand of sonic toothbrush, i have used sonicare for over 10 years and it is the best toothbrush out there. This model i got on sale because frankly i think the $40 model works just the same. This one has several different modes which is nice. One thing i didnt realize was instead of the old 30 second intervals, this one has 20 second. So instead of quadrants you break it up into 6 sections for 2 minutes. If youve never used a sonicare i highly recommend. While this model is nice, i dont believe it is worth $200. Grab the $50 or $100 model on sale and you wont be sorry.

I've been using a Philips Sonicare 9700 for the past 4 years so I was excited to try this newer version. First off, the color is great! The design, feel, quality all feel very similar to what I've been used to with the 9700. The app is good for people just starting out with an electric smartbrush, and probably for younger kids who need the coaching for proper brushing habits. Having used electric brushes for 15+ years, it's relatively useless for someone like me. It's a "nice to have" but definitely not needed if you are already used to these brushes and have good habits. There were three things that were disappointing to me with this model vs the 9700. First, the 9700 came with 7 brush heads and a tounge brush (it also had a mode for cleaning your tongue to accompany the brush). Second, the travel case had a USB cord hidden inside so the case itself could charge the brush. I travel all the time for work and this feature has saved me a few times. Third, the 9700 has the pressure light on the base of the toothbrush so it's clearly visible in the mirror when you're pressing too hard. Considering the 9700 can be had for $60 more than this model, with all the extras you get, I think that one is more of a value. This model is very good, but as I said, it's disappointing to get a $200 toothbrush with 1 brush head and a flimsy travel case. Fortunately this fits in the 9700's travel case perfectly, so I can still use that case and have charging on the go. In terms of cleaning power, I have zero complaints and this is just as good as the higher end models from Philips. It is powerful and has different modes and adjustable strength levels for different mouths and gums. It also gives you the ability to work into using an electric brush if this is your first time. You'll get some extras and maybe an extra setting or 2 with the higher end brushes but this is a nice compromise of power without the fluff. Keep an eye on Black Friday and Cyber Monday each year for deals on brush heads as they're usually almost half price, so $7-8 each vs $15-16. At 3 months use per head you can get a year's worth for around $30. Overall, it's a great toothbrush, I just wish it came with at least 2 brush heads and the charging travel case. If you've had Philips Sonicare's before and this is an upgrade, it's definitely worth it.

I could tell you how good the item is if i had received it. Best Buy has decided that these low cost, low overhead last mile shippers was a high IQ move. As bad as fedex and ups can be, these others shippers can easily state that the package was undeliverable whereas real shipping companies have access to a locker system for my apartment. I would gladly pay a little towards shipping if it meant I was guaranteed to get it with no issue. And now the item is probably being returned to the shelf and I lose out on the savings from the Drop.

I personally believe that this toothbrush is over price yes it works yes it cleans your teeth pretty good but that’s not excuse that $200 price tag. It also needs to be charged every night or otherwise if that’s not work their way I supposed to if you do not charge it overnight every night it does lose power pretty easy

I’ve had 3 Sonicare toothbrushes, this one is by far the loudest. The carrying case is cheap plastic, the one prior to this one was very nice and you could charge the toothbrush while it’s in the case. It’s much lighter than others, for $200, I’d expect a more solid toothbrush..

    Can’t Go Wrong with Sonicare

Our family has been using Sonicare rechargeable toothbrushes for many years with excellent results and this 9000 Special Edition is no exception. It doesn’t disappoint. We made the switch from manual toothbrushes to Sonicare starting with the Elite 750 model about 18 years ago. The first visit to my dental hygienist after making the switch confirmed that my overall oral health had improved significantly. My dentist has since repeatedly told me to keep up the good work with my teeth & gums. The rest of my family followed my lead & made the switch to Sonicare soon after. I’ve had no cavities since & not even a hint of gingivitis, much less any periodontal disease. My hygienist has very little work to do during my semi-annual cleanings. HIGHLIGHTS: -Artful Design: This is the most aesthetically attractive Sonicare toothbrush yet. The beautiful blue handle & minimalist charging base look fantastic sitting atop my bathroom vanity. -Practicality: The sleek, smooth, lightweight handle is ergonomic & maneuverable so it’s not tiring to hold/use. -Travel: There’s a handy travel charging case included. -Options: There are 3 levels of brushing intensity w/an easy-access on-handle button to change levels at will. There are also 4 different brush modes: Clean, White+, Gum Health, & Deep Clean+. Based on the smart brush head you use, the optimal mode & intensity will be selected automatically by the BrushSync technology. Again, you can still manually change modes by pressing the mode/intensity button. -The SmarTimer & BrushPacer keep your brushing sessions on track by providing audible tone alerts when it’s time to move on to the next quadrant of your mouth. -The Power Button on this 9000 Special Ed. Is easier to depress than the on/off button on my wife’s 9900 Prestige, which is flush w/the handle & can be a little difficult to engage. -The Philips Sonicare App has some helpful features. It gives real-time feedback while brushing, including all aspects of your technique. The built-in Pressure Sensor tells you whether you’re applying too much pressure. You’ll also learn whether you’re “scrubbing” & whether you’re brushing long enough for optimal results. It also keeps your full brushing history, gives addl. tips, & alerts you when it’s time to change out the brush head. -Interchangeable Brush Heads: The unit comes w/the C3 Premium Plaque Control brush head which removes up to 10x more plaque vs. a manual toothbrush, but still accommodates other comparable brush heads. For instance, my wife prefers the C2 Optimal Plaque Control heads. -Low-Tech Option: If you want to go low-tech, no problem. Just plug it in, charge it up, press the start button, select the intensity level, & skip downloading the App. -Cleaning Effectiveness: This high-tech power tool utilizes an advanced sonic technology w/a sweeping motion that creates gentle microbubbles that reach deep between teeth for a more thorough cleaning than you can accomplish w/your manual toothbrush. -Teeth Whitening: If you use this device as designed, it whitens your teeth without damaging the enamel. My teeth are whiter than they were before I began using Sonicare power toothbrushes.

I haven't been able to go back since the day I started using an electric toothbrush. It was a Sonicare way back in the day too. My toothbrush before this one is very similar to this and is going to move into the second bathroom because it's still going strong after more than 5 years now. These are premium toothbrushes that last. Setup is a breeze. The battery light was flashing when I first took it out of the box but it still got through a full brushing. Plug in the base and the glass holder just fits on top where you sit your toothbrush on top of to charge. The one thing I wish this toothbrush had that my older one does is the cup. The charger is still induction and I thought the cup was much more premium feeling than the small puck that you place your toothbrush in and stand it straight up. I decided to use my old cup to charge this toothbrush and use the new puck to charge my old toothbrush in the other bathroom. They both work the same so it's not a big deal but I did like the cup more than this new puck. Usage is pretty easy. Put the toothbrush on top and press the start button. The instructions has a lot of information on each of the modes and what they're for and how long they last. They tell you which section of teeth you should stick to for each section of the session too. Highly recommended you review that part of the instruction book. We usually stick to a single mode that my wife and I both like but you'll want to try them all and maybe switch it up if you're aiming to tackle a trouble area for yourself. Lots of options. If you're coming from a standard manual toothbrush, you'll probably be blown away by this toothbrush. I can't get my teeth to feel clean with a standard toothbrush anymore. I'll never go back. It's easy. The toothbrush guides you to keep things consistent and my teeth just feel so much more clean with these toothbrushes. Given that my old toothbrush is over 5 years old now, I wouldn't look at this as a high cost toothbrush. I'd look at it as a quality, premium toothbrush. You can get electric toothbrushes for a lot cheaper, sure, but I can't vouch for how long those last and how well they work. Bottom line, when the only bad thing I can say about this product is it doesn't contain the same cup for charging as my old toothbrush had, it's a pretty great toothbrush. If you're coming from a manual toothbrush, take the plunge and invest in the premium product if you're able. If not, just invest in another electric toothbrush. I don't advocate manual brushing for anyone but small children at this point. This is a premium product that will last you a long time so spend the money if you're able on an item that will get used 3-5 times per day and still feel like new 5+ years later.

The toothbrush started turning on, on its own. I could not get it to stop. I kept getting up in the middle of the night to turn it off. I finally had to wrap it in a blanket and wait until the battery died. I did a search, and I guess the circuit boards malfunction if water gets past the seal? I only owned it for 10 months when this started happening. I don't soak it in water so I'm not sure how it malfunctioned.
