I am very pleased with this Pioneer receiver. The quality and performance is exceptional. I am very happy to get the quality surround sound with my videos as well as the sound with radio. The cable network performance is great as well. I would purchase this product again and recommend it to my friends as well.

I purchase this for my 5.1 system in the breakfast nook. The rated watts are very much over rated. I test the unit and it puts out 14.5 watts RMS so it will only provide moderate volumes for small rooms. Over all for where I am using it for it work great but could not advise for any form of Home Theater application. The HDMI switching works very well. 3 stars only because it's power rating is so far off.

Picked this receiver up needing something cheap. To my surprise it was easy to setup and fit the need in my MAN CAVE. Only draw back for me is that it is not friendly with my iPhone 7.

Easy set-up and fits in a standard sized console unit. Excellent picture and sound quality. Priced point is good, but be mindful of reconditioned models.

I purchased this item as an open box from Best Buy and returned it just as the person before me did. The sound modeling is TERRIBLE. Since it is a base model, I didn't expect it to be AMAZING or anything since it does not have any kind of auto calibration. I simply expected something much better from Pioneer. In my opinion, you would be better served saving your money and buying something a little nicer. I have since purchased another receiver from a different manufacturer and am much happier. I gave it a 2 star rating because the unit did work as a 5.1 receiver but the sound out of it was just unacceptable. I hope this review helps save someone some hassle and headache.

Set up was simple and quick. Source dial too big and looks like it should be the volume. I'm sure issue will be resolved once I get batteries in the remote. Great system for the $$

very good unit and much less distortion when pushing the amps ups to highest outage. Gave only 4 because I'm old school rock music. I miss the bass and treble adjustment knobs.

I downsized my system from an 8 HD MI too heavy duty ONKYO when I moved to a smaller house. It works great. 4 HDMIs is plenty for cable, PS4, WI I U, and a spare. Good volume

We needed a receiver for better sound and the headphone jack availability. Most TVs do not have a headphone jack now. We are using it with a smart TV. Sound is excellent.

This receiver works a lot better than I expected. I was never satisfied with the wireless home theater systems and I'm not paying an arm & a leg for a high end wireless system!!!!. This gives me great control over the settings for each individual speaker. Plenty of power and bass!!!! I already had plenty of speakers, so I saved a lot of money and I have great surround sound!!!

We replaced an old receiver with the new Pioneer VSX 530. It took less than 30 minutes to hook the speakers and 3 HDMI components into the unit. Instructions were easy . We use it daily. The sales person was good with the selection and not buying more than we needed

For the open-box price I paid for this (right around $160) I cannot complain. It's a 5.1, and does a very solid job pushing out great sound to the five channels I have it set up with. I also have this receiver's biggest brother, the VSX-1130, and wish the 530 also had some of the same sound options to choose from. Again, for the entry-level price point, I cannot expect to have the same options but putting this out there for those of you trying to decide between entry level and the highest model before you get to the Elite lines. The one finnicky part of this receiver is, when I attempt to use the BT Audio (Bluetooth Audio) for my iPhone....if I have Pandora, or Amazon Music, or iTunes playing on my phone, then turn on the receiver and try to get music playing, I get no sound. If I turn the receiver on first, then select BT Audio, THEN turn on whatever music station I'm using, it'll sync instantaneously. Weird quirk right? I've tried to factory re-set the unit and it didn't matter. Any rate, I'd highly recommend this receiver for folks who are on a budget, enjoy Pioneer's terrific sound, and want some decent features and have a receiver that works with 4K televisions.

This a great basic and simple HDMI receiver. It doesn't have as many features as say Denon or Yamaha but it is typically cheaper and to my ears, has a better amp. For just a simple setup with the usual 5.1 speakers, this is all you need.
