All in one radio

Awesome HU for the money

Easy to install, great clarity, nice customizable backlighting, great platform. Nice to see the HU have mobile os platform based apps. Make sure you download the pioneer apps and take advantage of the naviagtion, weather, and music.

Great touch screen at a great price

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the AVH-X2800BS. This was to replace the AVH-X3500BHS. Before that I ran single din Premier editions when that was a thing. I've been a long time customer of Pioneer products and have always recommended them and been happy. The AVH-X3500BHS had some quirks but for the most part was tolerable. When I demoed the AVH-X2800BS in the store and read/watched reviews it seemed like a nice upgrade. it seemed as though they had fixed the bugs and made things a bit more user friendly. But it appears they fixed some things and broke many more. The new AVH-X2800BS so far has been an aggravating experience. The FM radio app is a mess. *Why does it only show 8 characters? I have a single din kenwood that shows more info, huge waste of screen space here. It just plain looks bad. *Why doesn't it tell me when I'm in HD or not? Even the manual shows HD listed but mine doesn't even when listening to known HD channels. *Why oh dear lord why can I not touch the channel number and type in the number of the channel in FM? This is an available option in the SXM app. The touch screen detects touches about 1/4 of an inch to the left of button presses. This is most aggravating when adjusting the EQ. And also frustration when selecting preset number 1 which selects the mode button to the right of it instead. There is also a bug where when you select a preset sometimes it highlights it in blue sometimes it doesn't. So there is no way to know what preset is currently selected. Finally when cycling through presets using the remote going numerically down works just fine. Going numerical up sometimes results in the preset selection jumping to the bottom of the list. Overall its not the worst experience ever but I'm very disappointed with the history I've had with pioneer. I'll be keeping my eye out for a replacement.
