It mirrors over my maps, music, phone calls, and text messages. I also added a backup camera to my car that’s able to display on my new radio.

It’s a great uograde, enabling use of CarPlay for music and Google Maps, as well as hands-free text and talk. This made a recent long car trip so much smoother. The radio is good quality and the install was a breeze.

cheap alternative than buying new

Safety for older travelers

Epic fail

Can't I use Apple carplay or Android auto without plugging into USB. Bluetooth goes in and out and for 2 weeks now we are still trying to figure out how to hook up the stock reverse camera. It was meant to be a nice upgrade for my wife's car and it's only been a big mess. She has asked me to put the stock system back in.

Posted .I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your DMH-1800NEX.
You are correct, it supports Wired Apple CarPlay and Wired Android Auto.
Please have the installer double check the connections. Perhaps it needs a better ground or there is a factory amplified antenna that is not being powered up. These will cause poor radio reception.
Please contact Best Buy at 1-888-237-8289. They will try to assist you with the reverse camera problem.
