This radio is the 4200 series NEX Pioneer. Double Din with lots of features. The sound is amazing with so many settings. I love the built in crossovers and equalizer. Time alignment is definitely something to listen to. I use my phone for Android auto and wow! maps, my music plus it reads out my text messages and I can make or receive calls too. Too many great things in this radio. Worth a look!

This stereo has great sound and is very easy to use. Apple play is great.

1st replaced my 98 Mustang console with a 2004 console to accommodate a 2 din stereo. Next fabricated a cage to mount the (separate purchase) Pioneer stereo mount hardware (not sold by BB). Then ran circuits to the reverse light, light switch and parking brake. The CarPlay integrates perfect with the Apple SE iPhone. Can not see the display in direct sunlight or with sunglasses on however. Pandora, Sat radio, maps, Siri all work great. Can not access Sat radio from CarPlay however--you have to use the Pioneer menu to get to the Sat Radio. I love this Stereo! Sounds great on my 20 year old speakers! Added a subwoofer (Kicker) that fits in the floor behind the driver seat. Upgraded the firmware (easy). Highly recommend this stereo! Also added the backup camera. Works great as well.

I was getting new speakers installed by the Best Buy Geek Squad team in Potomac Yards and they mentioned the Pioneer AVH-4200NEX receiver is a good unit. It's more than good it's great because of all the great features like Apple CarPlay. This is your IPhone thru your radio. Amazing and the sound is truly amazing too. Best Buy did me right.

This is my second unit. My first one only lasted 19 months and then it would not stay on--out of warranty. Just purchased a replacement--which is this one. The prior had the "warning" screen come on and it wouldn't go away unless you clicked OK (massively irritating). It also would not retain the bluetooth settings (would ALWAYS drop and you would have to re-connect). This version (just 1 release later) only shows the warning 30 seconds then goes away on it's own (thankfully) and it holds the bluetooth (without having to re-sync). I have it running the DVD on the front (have a toggle switch that makes it work--have a shield so I don't see it and get distracted but my wife can view it), plus it plays on two back speakers. Good audio, like HD mode (much better radio), relatively easy interface. I run our Apple 6 phones through it. I would have given it 4 stars (because of the prior errors), if the prior didn't break (was VERY upset it didn't last), but I got a 4 year warranty for $54 which will solve the problem if it flakes out again.

Love the 7 inch screen. Very user friendly. Sounds great.

I purchased this after my Alpine Receiver bit the dust. This receiver sounds so much better. Android Auto is a plus. I like the fact that I can use google maps and don't have to have a separate or the more expensive integrated GPS. Graphics are clean and crisp. The installer did an awesome job installing and recommending this receiver.

I researched a lot of car stereos before picking this one out. I couldn't be happier. Vary easy interface to navigate. Hooked it up to my steering wheel controls - which function perfect. Apple CarPlay is great. Makes it easier use features from phone (maps for navigation, reads text, allows you to dictate texts).

I love the safety features on my new pioneer 4200NEX. California enacted a new law that totally restricts any touching of your cell phone while in a car. The apple car play insures i will never get a violation for that act. I also enjoy my premium spotify subscription sounding so clear on my new stereo commercial free.

Display is easy to see in daylight and will not blind you at night. Functions are user friendly and easy to access while driving. Not a big fan of the android auto. Sound quality is amazing and can be tuned to any type of music with the built-in equalizer and crossover. ( all speakers are being powered with amps)

I have had the stereo for about 2 weeks and all I have to say is that I don't know how it could be any better. It pairs easily with my iphone. It is easy to navigate. The Carplay is fantastic. I can't imagine that there would be a better stereo out there for the money.

Great Head unit, tons of features, good output. Like CarPlay a lot especially since my music app became compatible. AppRadio is Ok, use it only for my preferred map app. Menus are good, hd radio and Sirius sound great as well. Nice large screen, very satisfied

ok so afew things that are great with the radio, i have had it for about 2 months now, CARPLAY is awesome, so easy to work with. everything is smooth, and the musiq tunning features is awesome. i switch from a x2700bt and musiq has more power now, much cleaner.

After installing JBL speakers in my Ranger, I had BB install this radio and a JBL sub/amp. The sound is much improved, and the radio itself is quick to come alive, the menu setup is intuitive and the touch screen is quick and responsive.

This is a great radio, full of options. The phone sound quality was great. Sounded great on both ends. The touch screen was very easy to use. The unit had 3 amp out puts to offer a lot of expansion .

Replaced awful Toyota stock speakers and system with Kicker speakers and this Pioneer Carplay receiver. What a difference! 500% better quality sound and easy to use! just plug and play! Absolutely recommend this system.

I snagged a store demo model 4200NEX for $300 with tax and warranty. It was missing most of the accessories like the wiring harness, remote and Bluetooth mic (which were easily and inexpensively procured) and after Installation it works perfectly. A major upgrade to the factory CD player, I can hook up my S8+ and use the Android Auto navigation which is awesome. I use mostly 320k MP3s for audio and this unit handles them well, along with the EQ and SRS it sounds pretty good. 4V pre outs are also another plus, along with HDMI so you can mirror link if you wish. All in all I'm very happy with it. I've always had great luck with Pioneer so hopefully the extended warranty won't be needed but glad I got it anyway.

I wanted to stereo with Android auto in the stereo delivered but not only to deliver auto it works well and is easy to use. My only complaint is that there's no way to avoid tolls on the Android auto navigation feature. But as that is a Android issue and not an issue to this radio I still gave it four stars.

Installer Chris helped me link my iPhone and gave me a lesson on basic use of system. I sat in my drive way and played with it for awhile when I got home and now am able to navigate the system easily.

Installed in my truck for retirement travel. It keeps my phone charged and is super easy to operate. Going to add the rear camera soon. Got a great price and free install making it even better.
