If you plan on purchasing this, you're probably going to have to have some custom work done for your dash kit. Because the face of the receiver lifts up when you want to eject the face or put a CD or SD card in, some dash kits don't have the clearance to accommodate for it and it will get stuck unless you widen the space for it. It also tends to not turn on if you don't turn your key fast enough when starting your car. Pandora also does not autolaunch on my phone when using the Pioneer Pandora app over bluetooth, so I have to manually open it, and the app works maybe 50% of the time. I'm seriously considering just exchanging it for a simple DDIN non-video unit with Pandora. For those of you purchasing it because of Android Auto, let me warn you, Android Auto is neat but not worth the price tag. All it does is take your existing receiver capabilities and puts them in a simplified user interface. Almost everything you can do with Android Auto you can do with the regular features of this receiver. It definitely lays out the features in a simpler way but with the added bonus of locking you out of your phone and limiting the number of times you can tap on the screen within a certain time, Most of the times it just seems to oversimplify things. Plus, relying on voice recognition to do everything gets old very fast. If a word in a sentence is not where the voice recognition engine thinks it should be, it won't know what it is. I ran into this issue when I tried to say the phrase "subaru meet". Since the word "meet" typically does not come before the word "subaru", it didn't think that's what I meant, and it gave me practically every spelling and variation except for the right one. Voice recognition is also a pain when you just want to listen to one song, it doesn't know how to do that and, best case scenario, will make the song a radio station. While this is technically a review of Android Auto and not about the receiver itself, it's probably good for potential buyers to know what they're getting themselves into if they're only buying it for the Android Auto capabilities.

It was very easy to operate. Easily find everything you'll basically need. Bluetooth might take a minute but everything else worked fine I have had it for about 2 months no problems at all. I love it!

We replaced the manufacturers stereo with this and have been very pleased. The fact that we casn sync our iPhones am d yakee advantage of Apple Car Play is a prime feature. That only reason I refrain from giving a 5 star review is that the buttons are pretty small for my large hands.

This is probably the best head unit I have ever owned. The Apple Car Play makes it much easier to stay connected while paying attention to the road. I have not used the Android auto yet.

This is the best Deck I have ever owned. I always buy top of the line Pioneer decks. I have the AVIC-D3 installed in my HD Truck which also was a flagship Deck with GPS Navigation. The 4200NEX is a flagship Deck. This deck does so many things. No need to spend twice as much $$$ for the 7200NEX or 8200 NEX unless you want built in Navigation. Read reviews and watch videos on YouTube. Everything is a personal prefernce. You can hookup your Android or Iphone to this deck and use your navigation from your phone to the screen. All I can say about this deck is. Bad *as. Can't get any better. Just your opinion will make you think somethimg its better.

Great radio; love the Bluetooth. I also like the fact it works with Apple and Android. We both have our own plug ins. The remote is great too. Takes a bit to get used to but well worth it.

The is a great In-dash Cd/dvd/dm . The apple carplay makes it so much better, it can connect to my iPhone and use my apple maps. I do wish that they could use google maps as well

It fits my 2005 Ford Focus. I installed a backup camera and it works well with this. I haven't gotten to test everything but it works well for me and I'm glad I bought it.

This is my second Pioneer Navi and it looks great. I upgraded recently and it's specs are impressive. Sometimes the system glitches with my phone, but I just have to unplug it and plug it back up. The screen doesn't quite fit my car and gets jammed, so I don't even try to mess with taking it off or trying to get into the DVD/CD player. It's really inconvenient and was hard for the installer to show me how to even put it back on correctly. It wasn't known to me until after the installation so buyer beware.

Really like the ease-of-use the unit functions and performs flawlessly other than the quirky switch to make your DVD work and having to reset release and reset the emergency break would probably be the only negative do this unit

Bought a display model 4200nex that I saw for a decent price. Booted it up and it showed a antitheft password screen so I didn't know what it was and I called best buy back and they said I'd probably have to get it sent to Pioneer for them to remove the password, so I kept trying passwords and figured it out. I really like the unit so far, but I wish I had stuff included besides just the wiring harness. Like right now I'm running into the problem of finding screws that will work for it as I went to a local installer and they had some screws but they aren't the right ones. Now that I just bought it I looked and see there is a open box one available for a bit less than what I paid so that's kind of disappointing. Overall its an awesome radio and pretty much what I was looking for.

I had the stock Eclipse/TomTom that came in my 4runner and 1 of the things I REALLY hated about it was that every time I started the car, even after the accessory position had been on awhile, was that the USB ALWAYS had to reload the songs. When you have a 100+ songs, this takes awhile. The Pioneer not only does not have to reload at every start, it REMEMBERS what song and time it was on prior to turning the car off. I do wish there was an easy way to turn off the warning message at the start but other than that I am really enjoying this unit.

I love being able to hook up my iPhone and listening to my music or an audiobook with no hassle. And I can have navigation from my contact list.

This was a great purchase. We really researched the various options for brand as well as store for purchasing the system. We are very excited!

Really great headunit that has changed my entertainment experience from my base model radio. I would give five stars if it had wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Definitely worth the sale price I paid.

This is a great car stereo receiver. I've had many over the years, but this one is clearly the best I've ever had. The screen is bright, the sound is flawless and it has all the smartphone functions you need.

I really like this unit so far and install wasn't too bad either. My only complaint is that CarPlay isn't Bluetooth. Sto use CarPlay you have to install the USB cable and plug your phone in to it.

Installer really knew what he was doing. Showed me with great detail all the features and set up Bluetooth for me.

Everything works great, Apple Car Play is awesome. Only negative is when I switch from CarPlay to Bluetooth, I have to reconnect the Bluetooth. (Just connect not pair it again)

Excellent radio works great and looks good in vehicle. Love all the functions especially the apple car play
