I upgraded to 4K and had another model picked out from floor when I decided to walk into the music “showroom“ and found this for the same cost as a lesser system and I scored big time. Powers 5 channels, crisp sound, couldn't be happier. Blows away what i had before hand.

Works with Sonos! Easy to use, has plenty of connections, and sounds great. Good value for all the features. I have not been able to figure out how to use the Wi Fi that is built in, which is a bit frustrating, but not a deal breaker.

As a new AV receiver user, this product was very easy to setup. It has all of the tools to make an amazing surround setup. I have it connected to 6 wall speakers, center channel, and subwoofer and it sounds amazing! I'm going to be adding 2 outdoor speakers to it as well as it has ports for zone b speakers.

Let me start off by saying that I had ordered an open box item, that has said it would come with all accessories and the original box. What showed up at my house was a very used item with none of the accessories and a box that could only be described as dropped off a truck and dragged for a couple blocks. I called up there local store and they fixed it right away. After all that I was able to get it hooked up and started playing through the settings. The sound that comes out of this is beyond amazing and have been very happy that I made the purchase. Bluetooth connect seamlessly to my phone and the atmos feature has brought a whole new listening experience. If anyone is on the fence about this product is a 5 all day. Grab it now, and Happy listening!!!

I Love this reciever because it makes all 7 speakers and 2 subwoofers sound like I'm in the movie. I really see no need to go to the theater any longer. Easy setup

Bought this to replace a comparable Onkyo unit that was constantly shutting off. This unit was simple to hook up. The sound measurement/leveling adjustment worked perfectly. Multiple sound settings and plenty of power. Great unit at a fair price.

Excellent amp for the money

I purchased this amp to replace a Sony that I have had for years. I first purchased the Onkyo that was $30.00 more than this amp but none of the rear speaker terminals worked and the HDMI was flicker brand new out of the box, ever after a factory reset, so I returned it for this Pioneer. I have not had any issues with this amp, I replaced my Sony so I could do Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. I'm currently running 5.1.2 setup, with the Pioneer Elite SP-EBS73-LR and also SP-EC73. Wanted small rear surround speakers, used Polk Audio S-10 and a hide away sub which is Yamaha yst-fsw150. All perfect for a small 17x12 room that I have it in.

I upgraded from a 12 year old Denon receiver, that was good, and well known, and did not expect to see such a difference in audio quality and convenience of configuration. Truly top notch. Killer, at this price.

Amazing Receiver. I am so happ with the quality of this receiver. Works well with my TV and it provides a full sound hooked up 2 subs in a 7.2 setup. The selections of different sound configs is cool. I wish there was a little more flex in bass though like a spectrum. Hooking up speakers is as difficult as you can expect due to the tightness of the hookups and awkwardness of twist. But that's just a setup flaw. This receiver is amazing.

4 1/2 Stars - Very Good AVR

These have excellent sound for an AVR at around the $1,000 mark. For better musical sound, you'd need to spend about the same amount for a 2.1 channel stereo integrated amplifier. I have several "better" stereo integrated amps, such as the Musical Fidelity M6si and the M2si (among others). I will focus discussion here on the M2si, since it is roughly comparable in price and similar to the amps like the Arcam S10 and Rotel A12 and the Outlaw RR2160 receiver. Yes, the M2si sounds better for music, but the Pioneer gives 85% of the sound quality and offers home theater capabilities to boot. So, it comes down to personal choice: mid-level AVR with very good sound for music and great home theater capabilities or an excellent integrated amplifier solely for music--well, maybe you should get both...

I just bought a new Sony 75" 4K high definition flat-screen and I needed to replace an old Kenwood tuner with a modern high performance stereo receiver. I had purchased a Pioneer receiver many years ago for college and that receiver still works well. Getting another Pioneer receiver was a no-brainer as they say and it delivers great sound when combined with my Sony 4k High Definition Blu-ray player and flat-screen. And better yet I did not have to spend a small fortune here either. Great value for the money!

Disappointed about Zone 2/B

Most receivers let you switch between wired speakers or a pre-amp output for zone 2. This one calls the pre-amp output zone B and can only be used with wireless headphones. If you connect it to an amp the output is almost zero. Can’t use it to driver a different amp. Went back to Best Buy and their experts know nothing about it. Pioneer website has no support for this model. Can’t even find it in their drop down menu. If you use the powered Zone 2 speakers it shares the power with the rest of the wired speakers. No good.

Pioneer Elite 4k ultra HD A/V Receiver

Great upgrade to an older denon receiver. The sound is amazing compared to my older receiver. definitely worth paying a little extra for a higher end A/V receiver. Easy setup and a microphone is provided so that distance and sound of each speaker is adequately adjusted. I do recommend that all HDMI cables be replaced with 4K HD compatible cables. My cable box would flicker on and off due to an old HDMI cable. Once I upgraded, it worked perfectly.

Have had the Pioneer receiver for two weeks now. Outstanding performance in my home theatre arrangement. The mic calibration did a great job, but since we all have our "listening" preferences, I manually tweaked the settings a couple of notches, and perfection! Very easy setup. Manual is online to download for all the particulars. Visual is amazing with my 4k tv. I had a Pioneer A/V receiver years ago, and it did a tremendous job. Then bought a Sony, which I was disappointed in, but stuck with it until time for an update. Decided to go back to Pioneer with this purchase, and very happy that I did!

I owned a Pioneer Elite VSX-01TXH for years. It was a great receiver, but it was time to finally upgrade to 4K. The Pioneer Elite VSX-LX104 has been the perfect upgrade. It has the same Pioneer quality of my last receiver with all the newest upgrades such as Dolby Atmos. I’m running a 7.1 Surround Sound System through it & it works like a charm. I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase & would recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality 4K receiver.

I really wanted it to work for me

I really wanted it to work for me. On paper and on a few reviews, this entry-level Pioneer seemed to have worked well enough as a replacement for my 13 year old Yamaha RX-V663. However, after almost a month testing, making adjustments and even having subsequent conversations with Pioneer support, I ended up returning it. Why? (1) It didn’t matter how many times I ran the MCACC, the system ended up sounding dull to the point that basic news broadcasts would sound over modulating as the signal came in to the system and not as it reached my speaker setup; (2) The volume knob had to be really high to feed my speakers which gave me concerns since I was reaching almost 0.0 db on just regular HD surround cable broadcast sound.
Perhaps if I stuck with it and spend additional hours readjusting and saving profiles and EQ settings, maybe I could be satisfied with it. However, if I need to spend all that time, this AV is definitely not for me.
On a good note, anytime I fed analog content into the system, it sounded like a Pioneer should sound based on its historic brand fame. The biggest issue was when the DAC had to kick in. Maybe it had to do with the fact that it is an entry level Elite or that it’s amplification was less than what I previously had in my Yamaha. But worse of all, is how Pioneer support was unresponsive to the point that I am still awaiting a response from them after responding to their questions.
Hopefully another person will get to enjoy this unit.
