HDMI Output (ARC) went out, less than two years of ownership. Research indicates that this is a commonality with Pioneer receivers. Unfortunate. I won't buy Pioneer in the future.

Let me be clear. This receiver is spectacular for the price. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the poor attempt on Pioneer's part of trying to add support for things like Chromecast, bluetooth, network, etc. Fire the project manager in charge of this. I'm a network systems architect. My home network is solid (as far as home networks go). This receiver has a lot of trouble interacting with other devices on the network. Constantly throwing messages that it's offline and I should check my connections. It's a nightmare to get Chromecast to connect, initially. Admittedly, this could be a problem with the device "casting;" but I cast all the time and I've only had these issues casting to this receiver. Now, that said, once the connection is made, the quality is superb. The MCACC microphone calibration is really great and takes a lot of the fine tuning out of the equation for those of us who simply aren't expert audiophiles. I don't want this review to mislead you. Don't pass this receiver by. It's no joke. Pioneer just isn't a software company and I simply wanted others to know that there are annoyances with respect to network connectivity and the firmware interface. For the record, I plug directly into Cat6 cable (not wi-fi). I'm up to date on the current firmware. If you buy this box, update the firmware because mine was out of date when I got it. Also calling out to all manufacturers to bump up their game on firmware. Now are the days to add a rich web portal to devices...period! This isn't 1978 anymore (year of the last receiver I bought....the Rotel RX-2001). to add a portal or app that lets you easily control all aspects of your receiver through your browser. Not just the network hostname and the AirPlay password. Come on....really? Again...don't pass this box up because of quality. It earned its stripes.

I have only had the VSLX302 for 2 months but I have been very impressed with the performance . It supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos . It does and excellent job in 4k upscaling . The sound for HT is clean and accurate , it pairs well with my Oppo 203 . This is my first Pioneer receiver and I am very glad I made this choice .

Initial set up is very easy. Sound quality is excellent. I went from another Pioneer Elite that was 5 years old that had the dreaded UE22 error, and the sound is much improved. I'm still learning the various settings, but everything is pretty straight forward. Firmware update was done without any issues.

I have been purchasing $3-400 receivers for as long as i can remember and when my last one died i found this pioneer on clearance for $399 and i never imagined the sound could be so much better. I have small surround sound speakers and an 8 inch sub and this unit makes that tiny sub sound like a 12 inch and i have heard things in songs and movies i never knew were there. There is almost no distortion, I can turn the volume up as high as it goes and it sounds awesome. My first thought was i was completely immersed in sound from every speaker. This is an incredible bargain at $399, The only bad thing is that i can never go back to buying cheap receivers. Setup was simple and for the first time the speaker setup microphone actually adjusted the speakers perfectly, Cheaper ones i always had to manually adjust them to get it right. Get on this deal before they`re all gone!

Excellent sound quality and multiple modes that easily transition to your desired setting - absolutely love the home theater and Bluetooth functionality which easily pairs with any mobile phone I choose. Have had this system for 6 years as of 1/6/24 and have enjoyed every day of daily use.

I bought the VSX-LX302 over Cyber Monday, got a good deal from Best Buy for a great receiver. I added two Pioneer Atmos speakers to my home theater set up along with Klipsch Reference Series RP-450C Center Speaker, and ever since, enjoying the clarity and depth coming from this receiver. All the movies sound so much better and more real that I am enjoying, watching them second time.
A couple of points: Make sure you follow the setup instructions and don't jump the steps, esp. configuring the MCACC at the beginning, else it will keep asking again and again. Also, watch out and remove any faulty surge protector. Great job Pioneer!

I was skeptical at first to purchase this receiver, as I’m pretty loyal to my Yamaha brand. However, I was quite impressed. For the money, this receiver delivers an incredible amount of options and features.

I have had a lot of different receivers over the years but this one tops them all without breaking the bank. I have Klipsch RF28's, 2 12" subs, 2 R-15M surround, and just added 2 R-15M's as an Atmos setup (pointing up) They gave a much broader sound than the Atmos they advertise. This receiver with 200W per channel handles this setup amazingly well. There is so much more punch to the sound. It actually freaks my wife out sometimes, LOL. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Hands down my best receiver to date. Have been into home theater and sound since the 80's. Love this receiver. Sounds great and you have several sound choices. Looks complicated, but setup was very easy. Bluetooth works with all my devices. Pioneer has always made great receivers and this one is no exception...

My speakers and surround sound sound great with this and set up in basement and family room getting rid of my onkyo. Was skeptical of moving to a commercial brand like pioneer, but it has been a year and what an investment.
