Coming from 2 previous Pioneer Elite receivers (VSX-52; SC-LX502), dating back to 2011, it was no question that I was going Pioneer Elite again. Love their menus, controllers, audio calibration, & most of all sound & video clarity/quality. Love the new Dialog option on the controller. Also, you can adjust the decibels on front, center, & sub w/o going to the home page. I'm running B&W 700 S2 Series throughout w/CCM663 for 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos. The 135W per channel is plenty of power to move the room. Best receiver I've owned & it feels like it. Until 8K is prevalent, I'm riding w/this receiver. I've never owned a Marantz, Denon or Yamaha, but I'd recommend this Pioneer Elite SC-LX704/904 to anyone.

Pioneer Elite SC-LX704 is premium audio/video at it's best. I returned Marantz SR7013 in favor of the SC-LX704. Both are good though the Elite produced more robust sound. To say it engulfs you with stage presence is an understatement. Many sound options. Vastly improved setup onscreen menu. The app is simply incredible with a multitude of customizable configurations. I have 9.2 speaker set up with Dolby Atmos speakers. I actually use 11 speakers (without pre amp) and the system still automatically switches between 9.2 or 7.2 depending on source material. Incase you are interested I am using Definitive Technology speakers BP9040. I highly recommend SC-LX704. You will be glad you got it once you hear.

Bought this to replace an SC-87 that lost its internal PSU. Wanted the full band phase control that comes with the higher-end models, so I got this one even though I am just running 5.1. Sounds spectacular, as expected. Integration with my Harmony remote was too easy. Tablet/Mobile phone remote app is MUCH improved over the on the old SC. Had a little HDCP timing issue with the long run to my TV, but once I got that sorted it has worked perfectly since (about a month). Hoping to get many years out of this one. Mated with 4 Monitor Audio Silver 9i, one Silver 9 Center (just the 9i turned to horizontal, basically) and two Aperion 8” powered subs. Runs with an old Oppo BDP-103 (mostly for surround music streaming), a Roku Ultra 4K, and an old Panasonic 60” HD Plasma. (I am a music/sound nut more than a video nut). My extensive collection of surround mixes is as wonderful as it was on the old unit.

I replace my SC - 85 Which I believe served it’s purpose. Since I upgraded with the new receiver I am mediately saw a huge improvement. Freaking love it. The sound and picture quality and easy to read display are fantastic.Myself and my family love to watch movies. We often compare it to the movie theaters and are Out-come comes out the same. Our house looks and sounds better. Though my wife at times believe it’s a little obnoxious lol. Overall very happy with my purchase.

Ive owned many Pioneer receivers and this is the best one yet. The alexa integration is nice. Plenty of power available to my JBL 590s. I do wish LG and Pioneer could learn to play nice on eARC and, while Im at it...Pioneer guys...fix your apple iPad App...it has problems with no touch registering on some screens while Android is fine. The streaming capabilities are good...it was a little odd to use a google app to setup casting, but i got it figured out and it works great now.

Integration is only so-so. Sometimes and odd sequence to make e-ARC work reliably. Often have to turn everything off to get the correct turn on sequence because there is no sound. Exceedingly annoying. Sound quality fine.

This far, I am very impressed with the power output, to my Polks LS and all the built-in gadgets. Dolby Atmos and DTS-X bring my speakers alive, and listening to high fidelity music through the DTS Pay-Fi is incredible. The systems does not overheat and does not consume as much power as my 12 year old Yamaha Aventage. My only complaint would be to have the receiver play FLAC files in their original format without the need for using the DTS Play-Fi which occasionally crashes.

In my opinion, as a owner of PIoneer Receivers and numerous Pioneer "Elite" Receivers including models Sc71, Sc81, Sc87, Sc91, and now the Scxl 704. I have (3) Sc 91 receivers in use in my home and the addition of the ScXl 704 continues to add to the superb quality of my AV Sound Systems both Audio and Video. The purchase of the Pioneer Elite Scxl 704 from the Best Buy sales associate David H. (who i have been doing business with for 8 years) was a pleasure as always.

I admit that I'm a Pioneer Elite guy, this is my third receiver of that brand. The hook up was relatively easy. However, I did require the Geek Squad to fine tune it (which was well worth the money)! I've just begun to utilize some of the receiver's many functions and there are many. The most important feature is that the sound is amazing. My speakers have never sounded so good!
