Great AV Receiver

I think whatever customer buys this receiver will be very pleased. It has two zone playing speakers, that means you can play, a different set of speakers inside/outside the house while having a party on the patio.

HDMI switching times are long, but ultimately it works. Decent, if you find it under $600.

Good receiver, bad software

This receiver would not decode atmos from the Apple TV no matter what I tried or what pioneer said. They of course blame apple, BUT the Apple TV 4K play atmos perfectly fine on my two year old vsx-lx301. In fact both apple units function flawlessly on the 301 and neither would work on the 503. Retuned the 503 and upgraded to a Denon avrx4500. Guess what....... the Apple TV 4K works great on that.
