So if you grew up in the 80's you will appreciate this movie, as a lifelong video gamer it was awesome to see so many of the old classics represented here. The story was good for what it was, not the greatest movie out there but it was fun. I'm not big on Adam Sandler but he was tolerable in this one, Kevin James was funny if you like his style of humor, but not big on Josh Gad or Peter Dinkilidge. Regardless a decent fun movie for video game fans.

I really would live this movie in 4K, maybe soon?? The 3D is fantastic, like everything is coming right at you. I love the story line and characters. Adam's regular co-stars are so great together. My favorites are ADAM & KEVIN who are so funny no matter who their characters are. The graphics are fantastic and i grew up during the height when this movie us set eighties are my most favorite movies and music too.

we got this for the family for xmas even though we hadn't seen it yet. it ended up being a fun family movie and pretty much exactly like any other adam sandler movie (that's not necessarily a bad thing, as my kids love that guy!). it's a good "leave your brain at the door and just have fun" type of movie. and there are plenty of nostalgic 80's video game references to keep anyone that grew up on atari, colecovision, and nintendo engaged throughout.

I typically enjoy most Adam Sandler movies but put off watching Pixels because I kept seeing horrible reviews. I eventually watched it and was mad at myself for even listening to someone else's opinion, because this movie is great. It's not going to win any awards or make you think at any point during the movie, but that's not what it's supposed to be. It's entertaining, funny in many parts, and is a great throwback to 80's arcade games. If you haven't played these videogames and/or don't like Adam Sandler movies, then this isn't for you. Otherwise, it's an entertaining movie.

My wife and I bought this film, liking some Adam Sandler movies, loving old school video games, and looking for an evenings entertainment. We were not disappointed. The CGI was good, bringing the video games to life. There were lots of laughs that helped to move the movie along. We thought it was a very fun film, it took the boredom away from watching TV, and we will definitely watch it again in the future. The movie is definitely recommended.

I am not sure why alot of people reviewed the movie in a very negative way but i thought the movie was great. Despite the reviews, i took my chances and bought it. I am definitely glad i did. Yes it is an adam Sandler film and has some of his typical humor that are in all of his films along with some of the actors that usually come out in all his other films as well. With that said the story qas pretty awesome and the best part was the graphics used for all the classic game characters. I am definitely not a huge adam sandler fan but this film and its plot was awesome!

80's baby that liked videogames but....

Here's the thing: in the early 80s I spent as much time as I could afford (as an early teen) in arcades. So imagine my delight in going retro with this nostalgic look at old gaming culture... 80s styles and lexicon, the coin-op game cabinets... it all makes for a pleasant walk down memory lane. PROs ✔ I'm not one of those folks who thinks Adam Sandler can walk on water, but he was funny more often than not in Pixels. ✔ Peter Dinklage gets ample screen time, and he brings his Game of Thrones buddy Sean Bean (Eddard 'Ned' Stark) onto screen for a cameo as Corporal Hill, an SAS Officer; 80s icon Dan Aykroyd also has a cameo, and Jane Krakowski (30 Rock) appears as the First Lady. ✔ Other than the typical boy meets girl subplot, Pixels is a fresh story with decent special effects. CONs ✘ I'll forget the story by the end of next week. Of course, that could just be because I am getting old. ✘ If you don't have any kind of attachment to classic ("Golden Age") video games, Pixels is not likely to win you over. Kids, on the other hand, are likely to get some enjoyment out of it regardless. Take it or leave it: you won't be on your deathbed wishing you had watched it, nor are you likely to wish you "had those 109 minutes of your life back."

I went and saw this at the theater so I knew what I was getting when I bought the Blu Ray on Black Friday. Simple film and as a kid who grew up in the hey day of Atari and Arcades I can relate to the characters and thus enjoy the movie getting past the critics complaining about it being a bad Adam Sandler film. Movies are supposed to be cheesy from time to time. Is it Wreck it Ralph-no. Is it better than Super Mario movie yes.

While the movie isn't anything fantastic it's enjoyable to watch if you have a fairly open sense of humor. It has moments where it tries to be funny or even bring a more serious tone and it kind of falls short. If you take the movie for what it is, a comedy about classic arcade game characters causing havoc you'll at least have fun watching it. Although, maybe rent it or wait for a price drop before you rush off to buy it.

My 5 year old is into video games and vintage videos he finds on YouTube containing the games we used to play. So he really wanted to see this. We purchased it as a small gift for him because he had some health issues and has been a very good boy. He thoroughly enjoyed it, first with my husband, and then I had to watch it again with him the next day. He laughed a lot and I have to admit that I did too since I'm an 80s kid!

Pixels is a cute family-fun movie that the entire family can enjoy. I actually underestimated this movie, and to be honest, I wasn't interested in seeing it. But to my surprise, I misjudged this flick (wasn't my first, and won't be my last). I found myself laughing with the kids and enjoying the cinematography. It looks fanatic in 3D with some serious depth. It kinda put me in the mindset of a modern day Ghost Busters movie.

If you spent any time in an arcade in the 80s this is a movie for you. It does try to connect the current generation gamers with original bit gamers loosely. I would recommend this movie to anyone who has plugged quarters into a video game, when video games were 25 to 50 cents. My 6 and 7 yr. olds still love the movie because it is entertaining, but they don't get the references to q-bert, duck hunt, galaga, and pacman.

I thought it was a fun movie to watch & reminded me how much more fun the 'old' video games were to play . Once again I believe the pro critics forget the whole point of a movie is not to be another worn out Hollywood "classic" but to be enjoyable to an audience . It doesn't have to be a masterpiece to be fun . And what happened to the sequel to Super Mario bros . . . that was another super movie they shot down .

I must admit I bought and watched this movie with low expectations. However, I really enjoy Adam Sandler's movies and this one was really well executed despite the miscues on the video game timeline. Nonetheless, the characters all worked well together. The premise of the film gave me pause, but when I focused on the fun and comedy, I forgot the premise and had a great laugh. Enjoy!

Everyone knows movies like this aren't meant to win Oscars or anything like that. With that said, Pixels is a good movie if you just want to sit down for a night without thinking too much about what you're watching. It didn't deserve the scathing reviews it got, seems like everyone decided to jump on the Adam Sandler "hate"-train. It's not going to win any awards but it is enjoyable.

Loved this movie, pretty funny, a standard sandler comedy with a decent story and I'm all about the 80s themes, even my kids liked the movie and would rewatch it here and there. I liked that it came with a digital activation where I was able to add to my vudu library, I've never used the blu-ray and would just stream it from vudu, but like that I have the physical disc as a 'backup'

When old video games attack, this is what you should do. Haha. Growing up every gamer has the fantasy of what if this was real. This is what the movie is all about. Throw in action, comedy and romance and you have Pixels. The only problem I have with this movie is the use of cheat codes in real life is too much of a stretch for me. Overall a great movie to watch.

Not a bad movie if you played many of the games they show in it. The story is a bit far fetched but you have to give any movie its pretense or you will never enjoy any. Nice set up unlikely heroes for you to identify with. I watch movies to take a short 2 hour trip to enjoy the fantasy world created. If you think of it in those terms you will enjoy this movie.

Great 3-D movie, if you are in the generation in which these games were created, then you would understand the story lines as they take place. Either way you will enjoy the 3-D entertainment. I am a big fan of Adam Sandler though he hadn't had recently any good movies or much of them. I thought this was a good come back and look forward to seeing what he does Next.

An interesting story line, records of 1980's video games are released into space and aliens find it thinking it is a attack from earth, They respond by attacking earth with pixel images of those games. Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Josh Gad and Peter Dinklage are recruited to the fight because of their expertise playing those games. Really cool to watch this one in 3D.
