In a CD titled "The Very Best of..." one would expect, well, the very best throughout a singer's career. In this particular CD, another standard was chosen, namely, the very best single title of each album. So this results in a very uneven selection. If one album had four fantastic songs, only one makes the cut. If another album is so so, one makes the cut, even if it isn't as good as any song on another album. While I was disappointed, I did enjoy getting apeek into each stage of the career of one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. I would recommend this, but only with the caveat that I let the person know what they are paying for.

This is a CD that you need to always keep in stock in the home. "Early one morning the sun was shining and I was lying in bed" and JUST LIKE THAT, I stepped out of bed (my hair still red) and I STEPPED ON THE dangon disc. So, we purchased another one and we are back to loving us some Bob Dylan.

There have been a countless number of Bob Dylan compilations, but this one is a broad retrospective because it covers his entire career. It has his 60's classics, of course, but then goes beyond into the following decades. It even has "Things Have Changed" (from the "Wonder Boys" Soundtrack). Most of these "playlists" are short on running time, but this one gives you a great 72 minutes of the icon. Highly recommended!

I love Bob Dylan and was listening to his CDs from the last 10 years (I love Tempest) but this greatest hits CD is full of his older songs. Listen to tracks like "The Times They Are A-Changin"", "Tangled Up in Blue", "Jokerman", and Duquesne Whistle" and you will hear the different styles of music Bob has played over the years. I great pick-up to start if you want to hear what his music is all about.

Found in the $5.99 bin and thought I’d like it. Enjoyed first few tunes and then decided I must not be a real Bob Dylan fan after all.

Any time you pick this many Bob Dylan songs, that makes a good CD. What makes it even better is hearing the songs as separate pieces, and in different order than you are used to them as part of an album. I suppose most any one could assemble songs randomly. This does prove to be an collection that was not randomly chosen, but the chronology does seem less planned. Dylan songs hold their own however and wherever they appear.

Their is a reason why Bob Dylan has had such a long career and is idolized by all of his peers. This disc is a good compilation of the many sides of Bob Dylan. The master at work thru all of his back pages for the ages.

Great collection and once downloaded to iTunes can stay with your collection regardless of devices used over time. As for the music the recording is excellent and have no problems with the disc or case, no damage.
