    Dead ZOMBIE Cards After Arrival

    lvto2000

I had a weird but very poor experience with this product. I bought the package of two and installed about a month ago. They worked like a charm but I did not realize until yesterday that they actually didn't. When I first installed the cards my computer would not boot correctly. I thought it was the power supply so I replaced with a new power supply. My system seemed to work very well thereafter but I did notice that some of my drivers would act up occasionally (sound specifically). Then a month or so later July 4, 2016 the fireworks began when I woke up to a blue screen of death on my Windows 2010 system. I could not recover or F8 to go into safe mode. It would just freeze. The error made me think that the drive or processor had become corrupt. When I tried to boot from various different recovery disks the system would freeze then continuously reboot itself. Then I booted it from a Fedora Linux CD and ran a memory test. It revealed over 1,000 memory errors before crashing and powering off. This happened at least 5 times before I began removing each stick of memory. It would run on one stick until it booted completely and I started running tasks then crash. I finally removed both these two sticks. I went back to only using my old 4gb sticks from OCZ. Those older sticks worked like a charm and has not rebooted since. RETURN!!!!!!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THESE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE if you use your computer regularly for business development and leave it on all day.

When I first purchased two sticks of this RAM, I was assured by the salesman that these were fabulous sticks of RAM and no complaints had ever been received. I figured I would go ahead and get them (usually I do not purchase something without doing my own research to see if they really are worth the deal). That was an error on my part. I came home the same night and installed the two sticks of RAM and ran a memtest on them. Immediately, one stick was faulty with two bad sectors. Returned to the store and they had no more in stock. I had to have it shipped to my house in 7-10 days. During the lapse in time, I just used the one stick. The next day, I turned on my computer and immediately got a blue screen. Performed another memtest, and sure enough, four more sectors on this stick were bad. Ended up going to a competitor to buy brand name sticks of RAM (as Best Buy did not have the brand I wanted) and haven't had any issues since. I would not recommend this RAM to anyone.

I bought three of these to upgrade my PC which already had 8GB of RAM. I installed all three, but nothing happened when I turned on my PC. So, I tried installing them one at a time, turning on the computer, see what happened, uninstall it, then try another. My PC would only boot up with one of the three; so, I thought I would return these for a different, better brand name. I returned to the store only to discover that BB only carries PNY in my store. So, I thought I'd give PNY another chance since I've had good experience with their products in the past. I exchanged the two broken and one working sticks of RAM for three more. None of three new ones worked (same procedure as before). I don't know what to say, other than be wary. If you only need one stick of RAM, then hopefully it's a working one. I will be returning these for a refund. I'm not going to give PNY any more chances on memory. :(

I have been upgrading my own PCs since the early 90's starting with a 286. I kept my old PC because it was a good PC, but my friends bought me a new off the shelf PC. So I thought I would upgrade it. So I bought a graphics card from Bestbuy and 8gig ram stick, just to get it started. I didn't want to wait on shipping. The first stick from bestbuy did not work at all, then I returned it and they gave me another one. This one was faulty as well, but I thought what was going on might be graphics card, but by the time I found out the 30days and receipt was gone. so the last few months I am having my PC crash due to the ram I bought. And the longer I go the more it crashes. I am disabled trying to get disability because no one will hire me, I no longer have the money to just buy more Ram. Thanks Bestbuy, I will no longer buy PC hardware from you, or PCs.

I placed an order over the phone for ram memory for my laptop, and when it came in it was wrong one , so i drove to the store in ann arbor to return it and get new one. I requested to speak to manager and when she came out to talk to me she was very unprofessional plain rude. I told her my problem and i said it 2 times every time when i started talking she would rudely just walk away to talk to her coworker for 20 sec then came back to helping me she did that 2 time cut me off and walked away to talk to someone...Any way i asked for any discount on new item im buying because of my inconvenience, she said sorry no discount can't help you. If you want buy it if not we will refund you those are your 2 options. .. Summary very rude and unprofessional big shame , well Best Buy you just lost a customer for ever , she was short blond lady between age 25-30

My desktop is in my mind pretty advanced. I have 16 gigs of memory in it and wanted to increase to 32 gigs, so I saw these and decided to try them out. I removed two 4 gigs and installed these two 8 gigs. I was not impressed and immediately noticed problems when online and using google. I then swapped the order in my pc and no difference and decided the problem was the ram and not google, so I removed them and reinstalled my two 4 gigs. Back to normal operation. So, my unit is to advanced for them or there's a problem with them. I need better quality ram for my machine. If I could return them, I would, but not sure I can.

I have been using PNY as RAM for years and my computer's mother board tears up before this RAM does. (I just move the RAM into a different computer when that happens though XD) I have not yet had a PNY DIMM of RAM go out or malfunction yet and I have used there RAM since 2009. There is not much to say in performance for me since really it all depends on your motherboard compatibility and how much you are willing to spend on it. You might find a RAM Guru that can tell you other wise but I am more of a system as a whole type of Tech and it will run fine by my standards.

I feel that I cant really rate it higher or lower than 3 stars. I bought two of these to boost the memory in my sons computer. The buss speeds listed were what his computer required. I removed his old memory and no matter if I installed one or both of the sticks the computer would always come up will incompatibility error messages. I put the old memory back in and its up and running again. It might work in other systems but not the one I installed it in I will give BB 5 stars for the customer service. I brought this back and received a full refund.

I had a bit of a scare when I put the Ram into my computer and it did not boot up. I took it out and thankfully it worked just like before, but I am not sure who to be annoyed with. The manufacture, the Best Buy salesman who said it would be compatible with my other Ram, or my self for not letting a professional install it. Be advised, if you decided you need more Ram, triple check your system and what you need to do before doing anything your self.

I honestly was a little surprised at how easy it was to install, how easy it worked and how much faster it made my computer!! Definitely recommend to anyone who needs that extra jump in performance! But if you need a total revamp... But an SSD for your desktop/laptop The difference in reliability/performance/efficiency is a worldly difference.... Heck if you have the money.... Buy 8x8gb PNY ddr3 ram cards.... Make a virtual "ram" drive ;) You'll never go back!

As a graphic designer, I believe there's no such thing as too much memory. When I purchased my new HP, I immediately made the decision to max out the memory, regardless of cost. What a pleasant surprise to have the Geek Squad memory recommend this top of the line product at such a reasonable price. To top it off -- the Geek Squad installed the memory for me, at no additional charge. Best products, best prices, best service -- it's a real theme at Best Buy.

Purchased this memory as a Christmas gift for my wife to speed up her slow PC (ok...yea, I know....that's a lame gift). She spends an average of 4 hrs a day on her PC on the web (some for work) and was always complaining about how slow the web sites took to load. Her PC only had 4GB to start with. Adding 8 more for a total of 12GB made a drastic improvement. No more complaints, so she is happy now with this gift!

I had an older HP computer that only had 4GB of memory. When I upgraded to Microsoft 10, it slowed my computer down a lot. I thought I was going to have to replace my desktop but the Geek Squad suggested replacing my memory with the new 8 GB memory cards because you need at least 8 GB of memory to run Microsoft 10 properly. Now it's like a new computer!

Reasonably good DDR3 RAM. You're not going to set any PC performance records with this, but it does the job. One word of caution though...it may not play nice with other brands / speeds of RAM if you're mixing and matching and have an older motherboard. I tried adding this RAM to an old Intel DX58SO motherboard (triple channel design,) and the system wasn't stable when combined with my existing 3 sticks of RAM.

Used this to add memory to an HP Pavillion 400-214. Note this memory needs a 64-bit OS to be seen. If you install in a 32 bit Windows Environment, the MB will see and show, but it will not show as usable. I had to do a clean install to get the 64-bit version of Windows 10 to recognize the additional memory. Now the HP shows 12 GB available for the usage, less the 1.5 GB shared with Video Card (Integrated graphics card)

I do a lot of video and photo editing along with work and gaming all on my PC. I was seeing some slowdowns and freezes and decided some additional ram would give me the boost I needed, and it did. I was pleased to find it available at my local Best Buy as I'm an immediate gratification type. Size and speed were a match for my system requirements. Installation is very straightforward, even for a novice.

This was a great purchase. The ram card snapped right in, requiring just removal of 2 screws, and upon turning on my Dell Inspiron 3647 PC computer instantly recognized the new ram, giving me 12gb total now. Seriously increasing computer speed as the factory 4gb was maxed out causing freezes. I would buy again in a heartbeat! So simple to upgrade.

Very Reliable Ram when upgrading Ram for a Desktop computer. I've had no problems since I bought the Ram 7 weeks ago. Since my desktop computer is an older computer, I plan to buy 2 more of these sticks of memory to max out my desktop computer memory at 32 GB's. I plan to get many more years of use out of my computer.

PNY memory modules are always dependable for me for office and casual systems that don't demand extreme performance. Serious gamers or heavy 3D animations, rendering, and CAD work will want to look at PNY high performance modules or other premium brands. Overall I'm happy with this price to performance ratio and I have never had PNY memory go bad on me in over 13 years.

In this day and age, DDR3 is slowly dying off, however both sticks I bought work just fine in my rig. Sabertooth 990fx AMD 8320 @ 4.6ghz. 1600mhz don't expect this ram to overclock at all, seriously! It is the cheapest of the cheap and the timings are slower than alot of other ram, but it works. Buy some cheap G Skill 1866 and save yourself the trouble and cost.
