I was looking for an way to get better performance from my computer, this ssd works great and was easy if you know how to install

I bought this 240 GB Solid state hard drive to replace the conventional rotating hard drive in my 5 year old MacBook Pro that was starting to run slowly. The Geek at GeekSquad told me that I would see "A world of difference" with a Solid State hd. Well, a little over $100 dollars later, I see a slight improvement, but definitely not a world of difference. Overall, I'm happy, cause hopefully this will extend the life of my computer a few more years, and I won't have a catastrophic hd meltdown that causes me to lose all my data and pictures and stuff, like what happened to a friend of mine with the same computer. But, I wouldn't call this a major upgrade or anything, just Preventative Maintenance.

i purchased this drive to put in my server to speed up VM performance. I instantly saw improvements and found my VMs working better than ever. Great drive for the price.

I have purchased over a dozen of these hard drives from BestBuy and had ZERO issues. Replace any SATA hard drive with this SSD and it will triple the performance speed.

I purchased this SSD drive to replace the standard hard drive on a Dell desktop work computer which does administrative work. This drive is a solid entry level SSD drive and good for general use. It is much faster than the vanilla drives shipping from Dell. It also comes with the hard drive holder needed for desktop use. Be warned that Samsung SSDs do not come with this hard drive holder which needs to be purchased separately if using in a desktop computer. This means an extra trip to the store or online. I purchased this online at the Best Buy as a "Deal of the Day" for about $75 but when I checked Amazon they also had it for the same price. It appears that Amazon price matched Best Buy that day. This drive is last years model but I did not see any real difference from this model to the current model being sold by PNY.

I had a older laptop with a drive that was giving trouble. I wanted to try a SSD. This thing works like a dream. It boots super fast and has worked flawlessly.

It was very easy to install. As a suggestion , it would have been nice to have a tutorial how to transfer/mirror my old HDD. However, if you go to YouTube, problem solve. Performance improvement and boot time was very noticeable.

This product and met all of my expectations. It work once I put it in so that I could clean install a new copy of Window's 7. There are large increases in my boot time and has helped to breath life into an otherwise slow machine.

I changed my Drive from my windows 8 laptop to this amazing PNY and it's super duper fast now! Great product that gave my windows 8 a real pick me up! Thanks

Upgraded my Thinkpad T431s with one of these babies and now it flies. Boot time is less than 6 seconds and opening applications is greatly improved.

Great price for a solid state drive, easy to install. If putting into Mac Book remember to take set screws out of old drive and put in replacement.

Perfect harddrive to install your system and a few applications/games to for speed. Runs insanely fast and makes for a nice cheap performance boost.

Good product and price, but no installation kit included. Used a second party installation kit and the installation went well. This was a laptop install and significantly quicker after the upgrade and much quieter.

It is such a difference in speed to have a solid state drive instead of a conventional hard drive. Plus the fact it is supposed to last longer!

I bought this for my wife's 2011 15" Aluminum Macbook Pro. She uses it mainly for Internet, email, watching videos, and light photo work (basic iPhoto editing). She didn't need more storage space than what she already had in her stock HHD so the PNY SSD fit within our parameters. Makes everything nice and snappy plus startup time is measured in just a few seconds! This was a much better solution to give an older computer new life than buying a new computer. Spent a little over $100 as opposed to $2000? No brainer, great drive!

This solid state drive is great for opening programs fast. Easy to install. I will always try to get a solid state drive from now on.

The PNT CS1X00 series use the reliable Silicon Motion controller. The CS1200 is a bit faster than the CS1100, and the CS2X00 series is even faster, but any of these SSD are great upgrades from a hard drive. If you are a gamer, you need a bigger drive, but for most home use the 240G is sufficient, especially if you have the old hard drive available for library storage. The price goes up and down fairly often depending on other vendor's sale prices--be patient and you can get this at a great price.

Cloned my old HDD over to this one and the performance difference is night and day (as most people with basic tech knowledge already know). This drive is in a laptop, so no secondary mass storage drive is in use. Read and write speeds are great compared to a HDD and zipping and unzipping large files, watching movies, streaming videos and all around performance have improved. Startup to use time is about 9-12 seconds! Great SSD for the price! 240GB was plenty big for my needs and it was also on sale.
