Finally decided to upgrade the hard drive of my 2010 macbook pro 13" - I was so pleased on how easy it was to install and yes, my macbook boot time and app launching are super fast now. After doing some review on SSD, I chose PNY brand for reliability and for the price. So far its been a month and I haven't had any problems yet (knock on wood).

Bought this to replace hard drive that came with my HP laptop. HP wanted $270 for a M.2 drive which I know would be even faster. Decided to use this one with Windows 10 and my programs on it. @nd hard drive is used for storage. Boot time is amazing and PDF's load like lightning. Better priced than Samsung which I was considering.

I purchased this drive right after I installed windows 10. The load time of windows 10, didn't seem to be any faster than windows 8. I installed this solid state drive to try and speed things up. It seems to have helped a lot. It was easy to install and it works great. The storage capacity is great for my needs and the price was reasonable.

Cheaper than Samsung, shorter warranty, but performance close to Samsung. Runs rings around platter drive. Windows 10 boots in less than 30-sec.

Soooo. I finally decided to get on the band wagon and give a Solid State Drive a test. I bought an older Lenovo Y580 gaming laptop for a good deal. Upgraded the HD to this SSD and WOW! HUGE speed improvement, very noticeable. It will be hard to go back to a regular mechanical HD again - in fact I won't! No regrets!

I've used all brands of SSD's in the past, so consider this a professional opinion. On white paper, online reviews this controller #cs1311 is the budget line, however in performance it beats the more expensive #cs2111 series drives. Longevity? Never had one go bad yet on any brand. Speed wise this drive out performs the Samsung EVO 850 in the "real world". That's my tests via Crystal Disk on my system. Mileage may vary but the speed is what it is. It hits the specs on the box easily & consistently. The entire CS1311 series drives are just awesome drives. Why pay more? This is the best middle road drive you can buy for the money. Spending more on Samsung, is more paying for the name than anything you can time in real life. Ease of installation is another key feature, even comes with a spacer for thicker drive bays. You get a free Acronis download to use to clone your old drive & you can keep using it's other features as well after you're done. I've installed 10 of these for customers with zero issues.

I put this into my 5 year old computer and it feels like new again. It starts up in 20 seconds and shuts down as fast. Web pages and applications load much quicker. I doubt adding more memory would have made this much difference. It was easy to install and comes with simple cloning software that worked fine.

The boot up time on the Samsung RC512 laptop was taking a couple minutes with all the things running on it. We streamlined it somewhat, but for under $200 we added this SSD drive and bumped the RAM from 6GB to 16GB to make a huge difference in performance with that i7 laptop. Boot times are under 20s now.

This is a very nice SSD, with the performance I need. Cloning software is included; however it is only for Windows. If you are still using one of those old spinning hard drives, make the switch to SSD, you will not regret it. This works great in a 2012 MacBook Pro, and this SSD is made in America!

I was looking for an inexpensive, reliable SSD with good storage capacity for my laptop and this PNY 480 GB SSD was perfect! It was very easy to install in my laptop and download the included software to copy my existing drive. Now my laptop old laptop is running better than ever! I love this SSD!

Bought a few of these to upgrade my and my girlfriend's laptops. Clean install of Win10 gets to the logon screen within five seconds of a cold boot on my laptop (2.5GHz Core i5, 8 GB RAM) and overall response is greatly improved. Spinning drives, while still used, are going the way of the VHS.

I really wanted to use a larger capacity drive but they were too expensive for me. This Drive is fast and seems to be reliable but I have had it only less than a month. Will see how long it will last. This is my first SSD Drive.

The hard drive works great! It was compatible with my MacBook and was easy to install.

This is the third PNY drive I have purchased this year. They work well and I cannot live without the speed they provide. They are very simple to install. The hardest part was finding the software online. the link provided didn't work. Once I found it it worked perfectly.

This PNY Solid State Drive was recommended by technician at the Apple Store for my 2009 Mac Book Pro & WOW was it worth it. My computer works better and faster than the day I pulled it out of the box. Will never own a hard drive again. SSD is the only way to go!

I didn't pay a lot of attention to the difference between hard drives and SSDs other than the capacity versus price. Now that I've been using the PNY SSDs and can see significant improvement in the speed of SSDs over standard hard drives I'll never switch back.

Got this as a second HD for my laptop. Very fast and not to expensive. Just what I needed
