I was expecting over 500 GB of usable memory...

Apparently, only about 460 GB of memory is usable, which is so much less than I had expected to be able to use. I love all of my other PNY thumb drives, but this one is disappointing. Meh!

If you're looking for speed as in replacing on board smaller rom or drives (internal memory) use sandisk elite pro. That thing smokes!

May have been defective???

After a week it had still not completed the backup Returned it and bought a different brand. Backup completed in less than 3 hours.

Didn’t make it a year

The flash drive will randomly disconnect from the tv. I have reformatted it, but it’s still losing connection periodically.

Never had a problem with PNY until this 512GB driv

Both times drive worked ok but eventually ALL usb devices connected to PC would suddenly disconnect/disappear. Best write speed: burst at 111 MB/s Usually 30-35 Mb/s Quite a few periods of 0MB/s Will be returning this.

Attached to a USB3.0 socket on the front panel of an ASUS motherboard, I'm getting a more or less sustained 280MB/s transfer rate when copying large-ish files. That deserves a positive review! I'll update this if it fails, but so far I'm quite impressed.
