so this thing was made with gaming in mind which is why i got it it's not the fastest ssd on the market but it's made to get into games quicker hardly any loading time at all i love it i reinstalled windows 8.1 on it booted up and my load time went from 3-5 mins on my 1 tb seagate barracuda drive to less then 45 seconds.... ya that kind of rediculous granted yes windows 8.1 already had a quicker load time but that 45 seconds includes loading all my start up programs corsair link gpu tweaker razor snapsyes amd gaming evolved ap amd catalyst the list goes on im not going to bore u just know theres alot and it comes up and is done loading in 45 seconds :O is all im going to say .... big improvement highly suggest it i may actually get a 1 tb version as soon as i can just for storage and do away with the old hard drive use it as a papper weight or something cause thats all its really good for at this point lol...

So I read lots of reviews on this and majority said this was a good SSD. I got it home and ran some test against a older Samsung 840 series 120G SSD......The results were crazy. The PNY scored 742 and took quite a bit of time to complete with NOTHING on it. We then tested the Samsung (By the way almost full) and it scored 4689!!! The speed was blazing fast. Samsung score 4689 & 58 Seconds to complete test. The PNY score 742 & 2:19 to complete test. Well you can get a newer Samsung 250G SSD for $10 more than this PNY. If your wanting looks and "OK" performance then get the PNY, if your wanting the best...GET THE SAMSUNG! I returned the PNY and ordered the Samsung! I usually dont leave bad reviews but I want to save people the trouble, I drove 2 hours to get this and another 2 hours to drive back and return! Not a waste, but the specs are not good! Hope this helps!!!

I replaced the HDD in my 2008 MacBook with this baby and it runs like new. Breathed new life into my little Mac. Honestly, at $89 you can't go wrong. I'm running El Capitan just fine with this sucker. My boot time is a 3rd of what it was and my access times are super quick. I have around 7000 RAW photos on this thing and when I scroll from the beginning, all the way to the end, at high speed I can see every picture wiz by, fully rendered and when I stop, the images are just "there". I don't have to wait for them to render or anything. I'll easily get another year or 2 out of this machine, thanks to this drive.

This drive is smoking fast. My only complaint is that newer versions of Windows don't provide the option to make a new disk drive a bootable system disk when you format it. In the old days, you just need to run fdisk to setup the partition(s) and then do a format /s to set it as a system disk. That parameter no longer works with the format command either from a DOS prompt or in the Windows format utility. It's not available in the Disk Management utility either. If there's a way to do it without resorting to a third party formatting utility, I'm not aware of it and I'm a somewhat advanced Windows user. Cloning my boot disk copied all my data over but it wouldn't boot. I ended up wiping the disk and did a clean install of Windows which finally made it bootable. The I formatted the drive again and cloned my old boot disk again. That finally did the trick and allowed me to boot from the new disk with my cloned data. All this could have been avoided if PNY had included a utility to setup and clone the disk like Seagate and Wetern Digital does with their drives.

What more can I say? The laptop now boots in 10 seconds flat, and it shuts down in 4 or 5. This is a great drive all the way around. Super fast and affordable.

This SSD runs a bit faster then the PNY Optima ones. For the price it cannot be beat when it is on sale. Bought 2 of these to put into a Asus Rog Laptop happy that I did. I boot into windows in less then 5 seconds.

This PNY SSD was a replacement for a traditional hard drive that was not 3 years old before failing. Making lemonade, we wanted a more rugged component, and the drive speed was a second benefit. The laptop is noticeably quicker now; however the battery does seems to drain faster, which we attribute to this SSD

I upgraded from an older corsair that seemed to be on it's last let. It was an ssd that was performing at 180MB a sec. I put this bad boy in and BLAM! 460MB a sec read and write. This thing is fast. Boot times are extremely fast. I'm extremely pleased with this SSD and may be buying an even bigger one.

Used this drive to replace a failed 7200 rpm sata drive on my Dad's Windows 10 system. He loves the speed difference. I don't remember the exact numbers but I do know that it's the fastest SSD that I have installed.
It's been about a month since the installation and he has had no problems at all

As stated in the title, Windows now boots up and is ready to go in under 10 seconds with this drive holding the operating system. From browsing the internet to watching movies and playing games, this ssd definitely sped up performance over a mechanical drive.

Wanted a good quality SSD for a good price and found it, though it was in liimited quantities, so I had to travel to another store, but worth it. My Raptor drive died and needed to reload everything on this drive. Drive is quick running Windows 10 Flight Sim X and Xplane 10. Sata cable was decent but there was not a lot of variety in stock and I didn't want to wait to have it shipped.

Using this in a laptop, the read right speeds are around 400-500 Megabytes a second. This drive is turbo fast. I've had 2 of these so far. They are very reliable to far. Would buy again.

I'm very pleased with this hard drive upgrade. My computer boots extremely quickly, and programs are much quicker and responsive. I've even noticed an improvement in load times for games like Skyrim and Fallout 4. I highly recommend this SSD.

This drive has improved my 3 year year old Build Your own Box to run nearly as fast as if I built it today. My machine starts up in less than 20 seconds. In addition, my Microsoft and Adobe productivity applications run great.

Installed this SSD in an older Lenovo ThinkCentre desktop. Works great, but limitations with onboard graphics forced a move to a slightly newer platform (2007 Lenovo with Intel Core 2 Duo to no-name 2007 Asus with Core 2 Quad).

Got a great deal on a PC for my grandson, which came with a 2 TB hard drive. Installed this SSD and made it the booting OS drive, and improved the PC's performance immensely.
Wish it came with software for cloning and making it the new C: drive. Had to get that separately.
