A Fast SSD for the Price

This was an upgrade to a 120GB OCZ drive. This is by no means a high-performance SSD by today's standards, but neither was the one it replaced. Pay half as much and buy twice as often is what my advice is, at least until the price/size ratio stabilizes to a decent level.
I leave my computer on 24/7, so I lose a lot of the speed benefits by simply not needing to boot my computer often - but I admit that I almost never used to want to install updates because of the time requirement. This wiped away those concerns.

I bought this to replace an older SSD and I am very impressed. This drive is great. The access speed blows away my older smaller drive. I can copy files faster than my network can move them to and drom the drive. The installation was easy; however, if you are replacing an older drive.. SAVE YOUR SCREWS. Oddly enough the new drive did not come with any screws to install the unit.

(NOTE - "Compatible With is either PC or Mac - but this is a SATA drive, compatible with Both. That was not an option.) Was a little gun-shy about going SSD but I've been using a Microsoft Surface at work for awhile and felt fairly confident that the reliability was there - and didn't want my new personal laptop to compare unfavorably. So, I "upgraded" from a 1TB hard drive to this 240GB SSD. Other than the loss of storage, I'm loving the performance. Windows 8 boot time is consistently 5-6 seconds to the login window from cold start, and easier on the laptop's battery than a spinning-motor hard drive. Highly recommended.

Great SSD! Costly but worth it! I use this one to instal all my games like DA: Iquision, The Sims 4, GW2, ect and they all load much faster and run a lot smoother. If your planning on upgrading to an SSD i recommend this one!

I've used some PNY stuff in the past, system RAM and flash cards, and I went to the store to buy a Samsung SSD. I got this one for $30 cheaper than the Samsung's price, and it was worth it. No bells ad whistles, just a drive and a spacer, but I was going to do a re-install of Windows 8.1 anyways. Took less than 10 minutes to get through the install off a USB flash card, and had Adobe Photoshop, Elements, Acrobat, and over 2 dozen other programs installed in well less than an hour. This thing absolutely flies over a standard hard drive. I laughed when I tried to re-install as 32GB PNY flash drive as a Ready Boost and the system came back and laughed at me.

Worst Technical Support EVER!

I've been doing IT for over 30 years, and I have to say that my experience with PNY Technical support is the worst I have ever experienced in my 30+ years.
First of all, the device went bad in less than one year, then after two attempts, they could not provide the correct replacement. And beyond that, their Tech Support management refused to compensate me for my lost time in having to box up multiple devices, and time spent dealing with them.
So, I've been without a hard drive for over a month, and the final solution, buy something from Samsung or Intel I'm afraid.

SSD failed in three months

The one I purchased failed in three months and had to spend extra money for RMA shipping. The main reason for me to purchase this PNY SSD was because of its cheap price but after shipping cost for RMA, it wasn't so cheap at all. RMA was pretty fast tho.
