Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with Poi's gameplay, frequently praising it as a fun and enjoyable platformer with beautiful graphics. The game's price is also a positive aspect for many buyers, particularly when purchased at a discount. However, some customers noted that the controls could be improved, finding them somewhat slow and requiring adjustment. Overall, the positive feedback on gameplay and price outweighs the concerns about the controls.

    Charmingly Cute Platformer

Poi is a 3D platformer that pulls a lot of inspiration from those released back in the late 90s. It's a very charming adventure where you can play as one of two explorers and traverse the world for medallions. While not as adorable as other platformers realsed in this day and age, it is still worthy of a play through, and I have enjoyed my time with the game more than I had thought I would. It's cute, and if you loved Super Mario 64, this game might pull your heart strings as well.

    A Nice Platformer On Switch

I've owned the digital version for a few months and really wanted a physical version so I got this. This platformer takes a lot of inspiration from Mario. So if you can play that, you'll feel right at home playing this. There is a slight control issue. They're not bad, just a little slow so be ready to adjust your timing. There's lots of hats to collect/unlock just by playing the game. Some give you special outfits while others just give you an extra bonus from taking damage. Story is fairly straight forward. You see the distant star and travel to it, unlocking worlds, gear, and friends along the way who help you out. I do want to let yall know. You can't redeem gold points for this game. Even though it's physical, the way it is set up, North America accounts cannot redeem points.

It's good but not much too it. I personally did not get into it because in my opinion it was to easy and slow. Maybe for kids

    Fun Little 3D Platformer

Poi came out at possibly the worst time with Mario Odyssey releasing only 3 days after. But Poi is actually a fairly fun platformer in the vein of Mario 64. The moveset is basically pulled directly from Mario 64 and the progression is as well. It's obviously a low budget title but it's got charm and I feel that's worth something.

Its a good platformer game, and works well for an introduction to the style of gameplay for younger or less skilled players. Spring boards and a couple other features have bad physics and implementation and can lead to frustration in younger players however. It has the foundation of a great game there, but the developers didn't get there. Better model work, texture works, lighting work, and changes to some physics would have made the game so much better. It shows throughout a lack of polish that other games in the genre have. If you can get past the "cheapness" of the presentation, there is fun to be had. One warning: it gave me major motion sickness when watching my wife play. Something about the games camera, detail level, or something else just made it impossible for me to watch for more than 15 minutes.

I haven't played too much of this game yet but it's solid so far. It's a good platform, collect-a-thon style game a lot like the early Nintendo 64 titles like Mario 64 and Banjo & Kazooie.

it's a good, and simple 3d platformer.... nowhere near as good as mario, but it's a good diversion to break up the mario gaming

It's a solid game, taking elements from Mario 64. However, it misses the mark a lot and it shows. Enjoyable for a single playthrough but not breaking any records.

3D platformers are few and far between, so it’s always worth playing one when they’re on the market. And Poi is actually quite good. Sure, it doesn’t have the same production values of a Mario 3D game, or its depth, but I found myself quite entertained collecting the game’s 100 medallions for about 10-15 hours.

This game is highly enjoyable, and has an adventurous feel to it. It’s your basic platformer with different twerks on gameplay here and there. The characters are very generic, but you can’t help but feel a piece of Super Mario 64 when playing this.

Kind of plays like Super Mario 64 and I loved the price. As long as you get it for under $20.00 you will get your money's worth here for a physical copy.

it's a copy and paste of Super Mario 64 and Sunshine. Controls aren't the best and graphics are weak. It's an indie title, but not up to standards to other indie games. Just buy Super Mario Odyssey instead.

Accurate jumping is harder to do in this game than in Super Mario 64, and that came out 21 years ago. It takes quite a few tries to jump on an enemy’s head to kill it. Also there seems to be an issue with collecting "My Nintendo" points, you get an error that says points can’t be collected in your selected region. This is the USA version of the game, using a USA account, there shouldn’t be a problem. This is the only game I can’t collect points for. Also I got no response from the publisher when inquiring why.
