I have always wanted this movie in 3D. Action and Horror movies make the best ones. This was a good movie in the first place and adding it to my 3D collection was a bonus. Price was great at $9.99 and pick up from the store was quick.

With the sharp cutting edges and high intensity it is just an explosive film. Dear Devil stunts just mind blowing if you’ve seen the first movie this is just as explosive action packed flick one to own especially in 4K. Well recommend

The visuals are really good, but the acting is mediocre at best. Good attempt to remake a classic but how can you remake Patrick Swayze? You just can’t. Makes me want to see the original again but in all honesty, this is a good movie.

This film is an excellent action sequence fest,... If you like that kind of thing. The plot is fairly commonplace, ordinary, but well-acted and holds your attention, if you're into that kind of thing. I love watching Edgar Ramirez intersect-interact with Luke Bracey who plays an undercover FBI agent. Delroy Lindo and Ray Winstone provide their usual competent and adequate acting chops to round out the story. Teresa Palmer is hot as usual, though she's tepid in this film compared to several of her other more racy roles. Nonetheless, the script and storyline is well acted by ALL, and is intriguing due to the unusual excitement-seeking attributes of these physics-seeking jocks in all their resplendent action-sequenced glory combined with their underlying unique philosophy. What's ordinary is the eco-terrorism angle of the protagonists. But, that humdrum ordinariness aside, the full impact of this film is cool in the cinematography, physical acting of the characters and the sheer beauty of the landscapes, aerial, aquatic, machine-bound dirt-biking, etc., etc. As I said, a visual action-sequenced fest for me, which I thoroughly enjoy from time to time! (This movie is NOT to be confused with an earlier movie entitled, too, POINT BREAK -- with Patrick Swayze involved with criminals wearing masks of former Presidents committing bank heists!)

I really liked the action scenes in this film and the plot was a cool concept but at times I felt parts were over dramatic. This is a something I feel frequently and I feel it's just a typical technique in Hollywood these days but it's probably just the fact that I watch no TV at all so it's something I'm not exposed to frequently. Overall I still liked the movie as I've learned to accept that that's an element that is very common amongst most movies but it wasn't expected considering it's based around action and extremely sports. Still worth the purchase because the action scenes are definitely epic!

To me this is a standalone film not a true remake. The characters and some of the story are same as the original. The thing that hampers this film is just slowwwwww.

Even though the original is the classic, I really enjoyed this version with all the action and beautiful scenery. A really underrated movie, love it!

I saw the original and it is so much better.this film has good location scene.the photography is beautiful.but it doesn’t hold up to the original in my opinion.

I went into this with low expectations and enjoyed it for what it was. I didn't care for Luke Bracey as Utah but was probably best they could have done. Knowing no one could replace the Swaz thought Edgar Ramirez did very well as Bodhi. Its all about the updated stunts so you have to forgive the lack of character development/ bonding and the Samsara character was extremely disappointing. Wish I would have bought the DVD as the Blu-ray extras were the biggest disappointment of all, was looking forward to the extras more than the movie!

First off, if you thinking this is the remake I have to disagree. The only thing this has in common with the original is the same character names, and at the beginning they have tribute to the original. Now, I have to give it credit the live action sequences are awesome and some of the most dangerous stunts to be captured on camera. So I guess I would call it a reimagine of the original. The original was my favorite Patrick Swayze film. The movie was good and if you don't compare it to the original then it's very entertaining.

I didn't grow with the original, And I was full aware of the reviews of this film going in. I blind bought this on 3D Blu Ray just expecting a loud mindless action movie, and that's exactly what I got! The 3D is great and the sound is phenomenal, this is a reference Blu Ray, the movie is gloriously unoriginal and cliche and overtly serious, but if you have the ability to accept all that and are a action fan with a awesome home theater, it's worth checking out. If only there was a Maybe Recommend option...

I am building a collection of good 3D movies and all of these qualify. This group includes: Live-Die-Repeat (not really a Tom Cruze fan but a good show), Point Break (not much of a plot but great stunts and cinematography), Mad Max Fury Road (Lots of inane action), Life of Pi (had this in 2D, 3D brings it to life), Exodus Gods-and-Kings (a novel retelling of the biblical classic), X-Men Days of Future Past (a nice addition to this sci-fi franchise).

Purchased this DVD thinking that I would be disappointed in it because of how much we liked the original with Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves. However, once I got over the "extreme" action shots and how much that was the focus of the movie, I did enjoy it enough to watch it twice already and am sure we will watch it again. The first time watching, I found myself comparing it to the original, but the second time I actually enjoyed it more because I wasn't doing that.

I was pleasantly surprised with this movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is not as good as the original but what usually is. Granted it really had no plot but the action sequences where in my mind extraordinary. For the most part it didn't really follow the original movie at all and the director put his own spin on the idea. For me I really enjoyed that as too many remakes try to follow the originals without putting much of a spin. Overall I would give this movie a B-.
