Fun and refreshing Pokemon game, gorgeous OST
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a super fun, refreshing, and exciting take on the existing pokemon formula. It has a greater focus on exploring and catching pokemon than on battling, though there are still some challenging battles and trials to overcome that help the game feel not too far removed from the mainline titles. Though there aren't as many pokemon in Legends: Arceus as some previous titles, completing the pokedex is a more monumental task than ever before. Each pokemon's pokedex pages requires you to complete several different types of tasks, such as catching a certain number of that mon without being spotted, or defeating a certain number using psychic type attacks. As someone who enjoys ticking boxes on task lists in video games, I can see myself staying busy with this game for a long time. Also I just gotta mention, biggest surprise of the game for me so far has been the soundtrack. Sometimes I just find myself wandering and not engaging in battles or catching any pokemon just so I can enjoy the music a little while longer.

Pokemon has (Finally) Evolved
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Think of it as Breath of the Wild, but we made it into a Pokemon game. Instead of going from route to route, obtaining 8 badges and battling the 5 best trainers of the region to become the Champion (as we've done for over 20 years), Pokemon Legends Arceus drops you into a massive (as far as Pokemon games go, anyway) open world to explore and catch, train and study all of the Hisui region's many, multi-generation spanning Pokemon. The Pokemon formula is shaken up enough to feel fresh as we can now catch Pokemon outside of battle and encounter them without running circles in a patch of grass. Pokemon now have different sizes and weights, as well as Alpha variants, which are huge variants of each pokemon that are especially grumpy about nosy trainers in their territory. It's always so satisfying to distract one with a berry and catch it with a surprise pokeball from behind. Overall, it's a Pokemon game that deviates enough from the norm to feel like a totally different game, and I hope to see more games done in this style.

The Pokemon Game We Wanted
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the Pokemon game people have been asking for for years. Ever since Zelda:BotW came out and we knew how creative, innovative, and large scale Nintendo can now be, people wanted that brought to the Pokemon world. While this isn't nearly to the scale of BotW, it definitely bridges that gap significantly from the mainline Pokemon games. The game is much more exploration based, and is an incredibly refreshing mixup from the stock standard (and frankly now stale) mainline Pokemon formula. GameFreak is headed in the right direction with this addition, and hopefully they take the criticisms this game does have and shore them up for the next release if this turns into a spinoff genre with future releases. (i.e. Graphics, quite frankly Gamecube games look better than this and they're 20 years old). They can do so much more, but this is a MASSIVE LEAP in the right direction and hopefully they don't pull back from here and try to coast with minimal effort like they've done with the mainline games.

Great twist on an old formula
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is certainly a twist, or addition, on the tried and true Pokemon game formula. Your character is transported to the past of the Sinnoh region, when it was first being settled and called the Hisui region. You are tasked with helping complete the Pokedex, but in addition to "simply" catching all of the Pokemon you must also complete a set of tasks on each Pokemone (for example catch x number, see a certain move used, etc). Since this is also the past you also need to collect materials to craft Poke Balls, Potions, and more. Be careful of some Pokemon as they will actually attack your character directly in the open world. The fights are also a little harder, or at least the wild Pokemon can certainly hit a little harder. Overall this has been an enjoyable game and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a slightly more challenging Pokemon game.

Pretty fun!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Arceus tries something new with a more open-world approach, there is a good amount of freedom exploring the new region. Battling is pretty much what you would expect from a Pokemon game and refreshes the formula. It’s pretty cool that the Pokemon themselves can hurt the in game player. While some aspects feel rough around the edges, the game’s sense of discovery and adventure makes it worthwhile playing.

Look at trailer videos about game before purche
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was originally very excited about this game because of the open world map. Thought it was going to be incredible. It didn't quite live up to my expectations. I guess it's more so because I am used to the typical games where you catch Pokemon, train them, travel to different cities, get your badges and catch the legendary Pokemon at the end. This game is pretty much task heavy. Having to complete the pokedex by doing all these different tasks (i.e. catching 25, defeating 20, seeing them use "bite" 15 times etcetera of each individual Pokemon) It's not my type of game. With that said, it truly is a very visually appealing game that most people will enjoy nonetheless.

Very Very Good
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Can't recommend this more. This is the pokemon game we've waited for. Open world areas, dangerous pokemon, secrets, actual difficulty, and a good story. Graphics are meh but who cares, the game is too fun.

Good game for older-ish (10+?) audiences
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty good game, not so easy for younger audiences though. Children might have trouble keeping up with objectives and fast-paced moments, plus you can actually die and lose items. I would highly recommend this if you or the person you are buying this for can read and play games without asking for help on easy/medium tasks, unless you are willing to help them out constantly. If you are an adult/teen, great. Pokemon Arceus serves all audiences that can comprehend it.

Great fun game, just needs more Pokémon options
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Game is amazing and fun!! My favorites are the alphas because they are huge!! I beat the game with roughly 36 hours of gameplay. There are some CONS though….I wished there were more pokemons…I wished they had more moves to choose from. Maybe with future updates that might be possible. I need my dragonite.

Awesome!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is super fun and I would highly recommend it to any Pokémon fans who enjoy the thrill of catching Pokémon rather than engaging in battles. There are still elements of Pokémon battles throughout the game, but the game definitely emphasizes catching and collecting more than becoming the Pokémon champion. In regards to Best Buy’s service, they were quick, easy, and very nice! I placed an order online and had my order ready for pickup within 10 minutes of placing my order. Pickup at the store was also super quick and very organized. I probably bought the game and was able to play it within 30 minutes of placing the order. I would definitely order from Best Buy again!

Pokémon Legends Arceus
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pokémon Legends Arceus is a great game to play for me at least. If you faint in-game you drop a pouch with some items and other players in the community can find it for you. You can also find other peoples bags and get rewards like Exp. Candies. It also is a very different experience then most Pokémon games. Great game to play during any time of the day.

Incredible changes to the pokemon gameplay
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has almost everything i wanted from a console pokemon game. Open world, cqtching pokemon while running. Walking around the pokemon while fighting. The story is actually better than pokemon violet and scarlet i thought. Only problems are the graphics are not the best, but its stylized so it makes up for it. Also, they had no badges really to earn here and the whole pokemon tournament. However this game has a unique setting and feels incredible. Definitely recommend.
