It’s aiite
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall great looking game and fun multiplayer features! The story is a little bit so-so and the National Dex isn’t included in this base game, which may be big cons for some fans. This is my first completed Pokemon game since Diamond/Pearl, so the customizations you can make (trainer fashion, trainer cards, bike/tent colors) that previously weren’t in other games was appealing. Really recommend having a subscription to play online with others. I think my experience would have been a lot different without the options to raid with friends and see other players. At the same time, the online multiplayer function is a little jank and should be fixed, but I think that’s just a general issue with playing any Nintendo games online.

Thumbs up on my book!
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great game and I'm glad to see the devs finally adding some modern gameplay features and concepts (just need to go all in on the next one!).. The game itself is still very much a traditional Pokemon game with an ever so slightly more engaging story at it's core. Had lots of fun playing through the campaign. Didn't stick around for raids or "end-game" content. Definitely DON'T like to see this franchise going the DLC route, but it is what it is and everyone is doing it.

Nostalgic
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had heard bad and good things about this game, so I was a little iffy at first. But I gave it a shot and loved the game. It gave me a sense of nostalgia from when I used to play on gameboy and the nintendo ds. The only thing I personally did not like was a small part of how the story played out, but that’s not enough to give it a bad review. Sure they cut out a lot of mons from the pokedex, and there isn’t a national dex, but still a fun game nonetheless.

Great new Pokémon game
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven’t played a Pokémon game since the GBA so it’s been a while and this one was a great way to get back into it. There didn’t seem to me any overly complicated mechanics and the shared xp helps alleviate some of the grind. Some of the Pokémon being visible In the old and the ease of avoiding wilds battles also streamlines the process when I am not hunting for new catches. I am very satisfied and the exclude pokemon I’m sword made it worth the double purchase of both for me.

An excellent reworking of a classic game!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Whether you are new to Pokemon or revamping an old love affair with the classic Game Boy games (or any of the more recent versions), this game is absolutely fantastic! The concept is generally the same--you start your Pokemon journey with a single partner Pokemon and battle your way through the 8 gym leaders across the region in order to face off against the reigning Champion to become the Champion yourself--but the game itself has evolved (no pun intended) to make it a much more enjoyable experience. The Pokemon appear on screen so you can pick and choose among those you want to catch and/or avoid, and also has a mystery component where you walk through certain areas (e.g., tall grass) and get surprised by different species of Pokemon. Tons of added features and A TON OF NEW POKEMON! There are a few select differences between Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, which include but are not limited to 2 alternate gym leaders and a few different species of Pokemon only available in the respective game. Definitely worth the purchase! Even after you beat the game (i.e., become Champion), there are still plenty of places left to explore in order to find, catch and/or evolve all available species of Pokemon to fill up your pokedex (i.e., Pokemon encyclopedia of sorts) and finally become the ultimate POKEMON MASTER!
