Great Pokemon game for beginners!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If this is the first time picking up a Pokémon game from the whole franchise, this one along with Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu! Is the best choice to start! It’s very simple gameplay and can get you up to speed with catching the first 150 Pokemon!

Nostalgic fun for old and new fans alike!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I grew up with Pokemon, and being able to revisit Pokemon Yellow with such fun graphics and gameplay made this a must-buy for me. The catching mechanic is styled after the massively popular Pokemon Go mobile game and "simplified", which means this game will attract a lot of newcomers to the Pokemon franchise. But there is sufficient depth in terms of IVs (individual values) and the new AV mechanic (awakening values) that will give advanced gamers a lot of gameplay value. Not to mention you can get shiny pokemon, Alolan pokemon, and even shiny Alolan pokemon! Oh, and don't forget about the mega evolutions as well. Game Freak (the developer; this is technically a third-party game) did a great job with linking the Pokemon GO mobile game to the Pokemon Let's Go Nintendo Switch game. Now excuse me as I *SIT ON TOP OF* my Charizard and fly it into the Kanto sunset!

A different but enjoyable take on Pokemon
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although the traditional trainer battlers remain, the primary method of catching pokemon is now much like Pokemon Go - no battles are involved and timing your throw is the key to success; this is also the primary way you'll be leveling up your Pokemon. If this doesn't sound appealing, then this game most likely isn't for you. The game's artstyle is clean and easy on the eyes and the music is as good as ever. If you don't mind a different take on catching them all, this game is worth a shot (and you also get a cute Eevee that always rides on your head).

Great product; great service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product: I got what I was looking for. I read through reviews, user feedback, watched youtube videos of gameplay. It all matched up. The mechanics of the game and updated visuals (from the Nintendo Game Boy days) are legit. A review summed it up best: if you're looking for a nostalgic walk down Pokemon lane with less grinding (continuous, monotonous in-game tasks to move the story forward), this is it. The service: I bought this for an in-store pick-up. It was ready within 5-10 minutes. Notifications are sent by email and SMS (which you can opt out of). In and out - and the service was awesome (the folks who worked the desk are super friendly and sport relevant knowledge about the product you're buying vs. standard customer service greetings). Great job, BB. Keep it up and I'll keep coming.

Not worth buying the pokeball plus version
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure if you can still get it with the pokeball plus, but the game controls better without the motion controls. I love all the Pokémon games and this was no exception, but if you’re not a fan I’m not sure this will bring you in.

Game geared for beginners
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've enjoyed playing the game and reminiscing about the old games. The most fun part of the game is comboing the catches and trying to find pokemon with the best stats. I wish you could battle wild pokemon in the wild like in the old days. The game itself is almost too easy, but worth your time if you're a fan of the series, but also could skip it and you wouldn't be missing too much.

Great addition to the Pokemon Games!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is easy to operate. It would be great for kids learning to play Pokémon. It’s also great for those of us who haven’t been able to get recent games. The support trainer is an amazing addition to the game also.

Cute and Fun!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game hits the nostalgia buttons for me but adds new story segments and paths as you traverse Kanto in a beautiful HD look! There's callbacks to the original RBY and the anime for the fans of who started out in that generation so be on the lookout! Eevee is just teeth-rotting cute, it should be crime! Even though it has the Pokemon GO mechanics of flinging the Pokeball with motion controls, you don't really need to use them. I play the game in Handheld Mode and for me, it's better and still captures the portability Pokemon maintained throughout the 20 years. This is definitely an awesome game for those who want to get into the series and those who got into the series back then! Would most definitely recommend for upcoming Pokemon Masters!

Nostalgic and a little too easy and very cute
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I grew up playing Pokemon red and blue and every other subsequent game So this brought back a lot of memories However if you are looking for a challenge (or as challenging as Pokemon games get) look at Pokemon sun and moon or shield and sword or get red and blue on virtual console for the 3ds. There are only a few wild Pokemon battles in this game. wild Pokemon encounters work like Pokemon go otherwise. This I found takes away some of the challenge in this game (this made leveling extremely easy). Leveling up is made even more easy through the fact experience all is something you start with (exp all is an old item that splits experience among all Pokemon it used to be hidden and slightly difficult to get in the original games) The game is obviously marketted towards more of a female audience. Is a better introductory game for people who have never played pokemon. Pikachu and Eevee are admittedly very adorable in the game I cannot deny it. Overall the only reasons to get this game are Mild amounts of nostalgia Introduction to the game series of Pokemon And the meltan boxes for Pokemon go Otherwise get shield and sword for the switch

very cute take on the series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the change to overworld pokemon spawning needs to be a new focus of the core series. the capture mechanics are fine, but great for those just getting into the series. it's definitely much easier than previous games, which are already easier, but it's adorable with pokemon who follow you around and easy to complete the pokedex in 30 hours or so.

7 year old reader loves it
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son enjoyed the game. It's a lot of reading but doesn't have complex words. A map would have been helpful. We got lost a few times and he needed my help a few times to figure out where to go next.

worth the buy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The graphics are better than any of the previous Pokemon games, very nostalgic and fun to play! However, in this game you can no longer battle wild pokemon (with a few exceptions) and instead you must capture them to gain experience and progress in the game However, you can still battle trainers you find along the way, as well as challenge Team Rocket, gym leaders, and finally the Elite 4 (just like in the original game) The most exciting new feature to me is the ability to ride on or walk alongside your pokemon (like in HeartGold/SoulSilver but now you can mount certain pokemon too) Overall, I'd say this game is worth the buy and definitely recommend to anyone who is a fan of the series, especially of the 1st gen games.

Good throwback
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a remake of the first Pokemon game. The only complaints are that they removed the original battle system for a more simpler approach. If you can overlook that, the game is fantastic and looks great.

Go Team Eevee!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best way to revisit your childhood experiences with Pokemon, and this experience has enough depth for veterans and newcomers alike. Plenty of battling, and I love the pokemon in the overworld.

Great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven’t played Pokémon in years. This game is a great game for the Switch. I feel like eevee is truly a powerful Pokémon in this game. Two player mode might be boring for the second player since their character does not interact/activate wild Pokémon nor the other characters. The second player only walks around, catches and battles. My little cousins argued a bit who would be the first and second player as they would disagree at times which Pokémon to catch (the first player basically decides what Pokémon to catch and who to battle). But over all, for me on my account, I enjoyed this video game for being simple but yet fun. Encountered a few shinies. I haven’t played it on the go yet nor have I completed it.

Good game but weird game mechanics
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the visuals and art style of the game, the story is pretty average for a Pokémon game. The only things I dislike is the mechanic for catching and training Pokémon through gaining exp from catching wild Pokémon. If you don't have a problem trying a new take on Pokémon then go ahead and try it.

Nice game

Cute and shiny
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Random battles are replaced with Pokemon appearing in the over-world with Pokemon GO style encounters. It can be frustrating at times but overall it's pretty enjoyable. Shiny hunting is much more straightforward than previous games and it can get quite addicting. Catching Pokemon is worth significant exp and you might find you're over-leveled for random battles and gyms if you spend a good amount of time catching. Overall the game isn't very challenging and there's not a whole lot to do after clearing the story. There are some "challenges" at the end but they aren't too hard. Shiny hunting gets a little easier though, and that it worth a lot of additional game time.

Hello Eve
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hello Eve and Hello Pikachu are remakes of an old game called Pokemon Yellow which was released in the late 90s. This time, however, the developer Gamefreak decided to change the formula of the game as it takes many gameplay aspects of the famous mobile game for smartphones called POKEMON GO. Even though many die hard fans of Pokemon were angry with the changes they made (you don't battle wild Pokemon, but only trainers), when the game came out and people started to play it, it became obvious the changes were a good choice. This is the perfect 1st Pokemon game to initiate yourself on the franchise. Try it and remember to not leave your social life.
