Brought Tears To My Ears As A 90's Kid
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game must be brought ASAP if you did not get the 100 dollar edition get it because when it runs out you will regret it. The pokeball can be used as a controller the only con is that its not good in petting the pokemon but back to the game people complaining about the battling there is PLENTY OF IT so don't let the review people scare you from this 10/10 masterpiece if you are that 90's kid that grew up to Pokemon get the game ASAP

Good game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the game is really well put together. The graphics are nice and controls are good. I wouldn't use the pokeball as the 1st player just because you can't do everything with it (like access settings or pet your Evee). There is 2 player but the experience of the 2nd player is limited to walking around (not interacting with things) helping catch and helping battle. The camera also stays focused on player 1 so whenever player 2 can't make it back on screen they just reappear from the sky, or if player 1 goes through a door player 2 goes up into the sky and reappears from the sky in the next room. The battling and catching of Pokemon is set up well for console. I have the Evee version and almost immediately caught a Pikachu so if you pick Evee it's still possible to catch Pikachu in the game. Overall, game play is good but it's kind of meh when you want to play 2 player.

Pokemon in HD!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you love Pokemon, you should get this game, hands down. Don't listen to the negative press that they changed everything and made it super easy. The game looks gorgeous and you still battle trainers just like you did in the original games! Items and abilities weren't in the originals, so it makes sense that they aren't in this game. Also, wild pokemon in the overworld is one of the best things in a pokemon game and it should continue in the series in the future. Trust me, this game is awesome and the pokeball plus is a very cool addition!

Meh.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having played the original Pokemon Red/Blue in '98 and their remakes Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green in '04 I can say this was the worst rendition. That is not to say it was bad, but they really made it feel like was meant for 6 year old kids. Visually it is quite appealing, but the characters and game play mechanics were toned down. Your original rival/defacto boss "Gary" would mock you for always being two steps behind him as he challenged you after just completing a difficult gauntlet through hordes of wild Pokemon battles. That was a true challenge, made winning an accomplishment. Now you can gain experience by catching Pokemon with no risk whatsoever and if you feel unsure you can simply flee. Really, it is an OK game, but not a great game. It was made to accompany Pokemon GO.

Still fun after all these years
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's Go breathes new life and excitement into the pokemon franchise. I was suspect when I heard that they were changing the mechanics of catching to be based on Pokemon Go, but I have to say they've balanced it really well. The game is the best looking pokemon game (due to it's release on a more robust platform) and is by far the most immersive. I also love that I can put a pokemon in the Pokeball Plus and power it up just by walking around. It's a great way to add diversity to your party while not actively playing.

Fun imagining of the classic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pokemon Let's Go is a nice, relaxing game to play. It offers new twists on Yellow, including mechanisms of the phone game - capturing instead of battling - but you do get to battle NPCs around the map. As a long time (20 years) Pokemon fan, I enjoy the game dynamics. It's the classic exploration of Pokemon and catching 'em all, but with a new feel, and today's graphics. People new to Pokemon, and introduced through the Go phone game, might enjoy this game, which adds plot and depth to the phone game.

Great game and the controller is ok.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game was fun as I expected, and actually surpassed my expectations. It was a great time running through Kanto again. Partner pokemon are great and I'm glad I chose Eevee. I hope you can have Pokemon ride on you again/follow you in the next game. Overworld pokemon is really awesome too, I wish we could have kept that for Sword and Shield. The pokeball controller is cool for the first parts of the game but I eventually just played the game handheld and it was much more fun. Super good game.

Step Back into Kanto
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Is this game perfect? No. But it is the HD remastered version of Kanto that long time fans have wanted for quite some time. There are some major surface changes like seeing Pokemon in the overworld and removal of random encounters. Negatives about the game are that it is a very dumbed down and simplified version of Pokemon with many of the newer features basically not found here in this game. It is catered more towards kids and older fans for the nostalgia. That being said, I still enjoyed it.

Better than I thought
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I knew I was going to get this game no matter what because I am a Poké maniac! The game is so much fun that I can not stop playing! I like seeing the Pokemon in the over world! I don't mind the GO catching mechanic, but the motion controls with the pokeball plus and joy-con can be off and it can be frustrating at times, but overall it works okay. I have beaten the game and as a fan that was there when the original Red and Blue games released I can say that this game was a treat! Seeing Kanto in such a beautiful way and updated graphics makes me really happy and puts me down memory lane! The game is a bit easy, but it is a joy to play through! I have been shiny hunting lately and it is just to much fun! I am also working on the 150 master trainers and the pokédex so I still have a lot to do even though I beat the game!

Game is fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Game is fun but the best part of this purchase was the poke ball. I can hit poke stops wherever I go and not use my phone.

Excellent Remake of a Classic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had some hesitation of this game due to the incorporation of Pokemon Go elements, but I must say they actually made the game much better than I anticipated. Random encounter battles are gone, and the game is better for it, and catching is surprisingly fun. I preferred the focus on trainer battles as a whole. If you have never played pokemon, this is a great place to start. Whether the pokeball controller is necessary or not I can't really say, but I enjoyed playing with it a lot.

So much better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have grown up playing pokémon. I was so excited for the first game for gameboy. I played it for hours and continued the trend up to ultra moon. I'm not far into the game but i've spent a bit of time with it. Every bit of magic that first game inspired is back. I sound like a child again when I play the game. Just for the record I am 34 years old. There are things different but they seem for the better. No more random pokémon battles in the wild means I can see what's out there and my pokémon don't need to be healed or have their pp restored nearly as often. You can do this by going to a pokémon center for nostalgia but, switching your team in and out of boxes causes them to heal. You also have access to your boxes at all times now instead of having to use Someone's PC at a poke center. Eevee or Pikachu are with you always even if not in your battle party. They will not evolve but they are catchable in the wild and those will. Catching pokémon in the wild is just like pokemon go for mobile. They're are a few other things missing that some might have issues with. Pokémon cannot hold items anymore. The affection mechanic is limited to eevee or pikachu depending on the version of the game you get. There is end game content I haven't gotten to yet but when I do I don't I'll be disappointed. The pokeball controller while limited has done cool features as well. When you catch a pokémon the ball rumbles like the one on screen. The click feeling when successful is very gratifying. You can place a pokémon in the ball and take it for a stroll, this allows it to earn experience and candies. On occasion the pokémon in the ball will call out which requires a button push to answer. The controller only has two buttons and a control stick. It works well enough but sometimes it feels like i'm fighting the motion control on the controller in menus. Overall I love this product and can't wait to play more.
