Good speaker, great value, but boombox bass

Only complaint is the bass, has a boombox sound. The instruction manual says to set your amplifier to its minimum bass setting. I bought this "Bookshelf" Speaker" to put on a bookshelf, however the rear sound hole makes the speaker not suitable for enclosure. It needs to be used as a free standing speaker. The smaller S10 model maybe the better choice, since it uses the same tweeter, but with a smaller bass speaker.

Good speaker for rear surrounds.

But they are definitely a bit pricey and there are speakers out there just as good or better for less money.
