Incredible sound, well worth the investment.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these speakers along with the signature center speaker to upgrade an office 5.1 surround sound setup from some "home theater in a box" Onkyo speakers. I was concerned the upgrade would be so marginal that I'd have buyer's remorse, or that I'd regret not purchasing the less expensive Polk option. I am happy to report that not only was the upgrade in quality clear from the moment I ran sound through the system, but that it far exceeded my expectations. The speakers were significantly larger than the ones I replaced; calling them "bookshelf" speakers seems to suggest an assumption of quite the large bookshelf. Better to think of these as "mini floor speakers" even though no sensible person would set these on the floor. For a desktop, they're perfect though, giving me the experience of floor speakers on the desk. Every minor audio detail of a video or game shines through these speakers, from crickets to footsteps to explosions to conversation. The audio is just incredibly dynamic and doesn't sound or feel compressed the way it could in the smaller speakers. Plus they just look amazing, especially with the front grille taken off. The silver and black inside the walnut grey box looks really clean and crisp. I'd purchase this again and would definitely highly recommend it to others.

Honestly blown away
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay So I currently live in an apartment because I am in the military and constantly move. So I have to worry about bothering neighbors. This is a problem when setting up a system for movies and music. I was extremely decisive on looking for the right speakers on a budget and really wanted to avoid getting a subwoofer because of how well the sound travels to my neighbors apartment just down stairs. So I bought some Sony speakers and they were wayyyy to intense on the high end. I have a small bay audio center speaker which is a perfect balance of highs and mids. I purchased these speakers in hopes for a really strong mids presence with just a little low end. I have a Yamaha aventage reciever and tuned the system in with the ypoa mic and I was blown away. In my small apartment I almost have to be careful with my volume adjustments because the mids and lows are so intense through these speakers. The theater offers a very crisp high end and the 5.25” speakers give such a clean mid/low sound. I listen to anything from alternative/classic rock/grunge/hip hop to electronic music. And these speakers have not disappointed yet. Time will tell through the break in period if they still are this awesome. But I am almost confident I can avoid buying a subwoofer altogether with these two speakers and my small bag audio center. Another thing, I can turn my volume to 90 percent with no distortion and very stable levels across all spectrums. I haven’t went 100% due to my neighbors.

Great for front or surround speakers
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Polk audio S15 has clarity and high definition on my 5.1 set up in my bed room . This is truly a high resolution speaker , you can hear all the details and nuances when listening to music and watching high definition 4K UHD movies . Always enjoy them when listening to music on my Denon receiver . Got them last October which was not even pre Black Friday sale and were half off at a sale price of $ 115.00 . Thanks Best Buy for the pre sale of the S15 .

Great sound, great body
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brilliant highs and spacious sound! These speakers are diamonds in the rough. The Black Ash, solid, wood cabinet sceams quality. I coupled these w my Onkyo AV receiver for my front speaker/main in my Dolby Atmos setup. The impact is major!

Great Sound for a small Speaker.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought these to get Atmos to work in my large room. They did very well. I also wanted to see how they would sound as Stereo Speakers. I compared them to T15's and my Polk RTi12. Blew the T15's out of the water. Midrange was clear, high were also clear. Not overpowering. They were a good timbre match to my Polk RTi12.

Q: QuestionWhat is a 2-way speaker? What is a passive speaker?
Asked by Matt.
- A:Answer One speaker for high frequencies and one speaker for mid and low frequencies. A passive speaker is not self-powered. You must connect them to an amplifier with speaker wires to power them.

Q: QuestionWhat kind of hole(s) do these have in the back? I want to know if they work with my existing wall mounts.
Asked by Tony1.
- A:Answer There is a single hole in the back at the top of the speaker. It's a fairly heavy speaker though. Use a good screw and one of those expansion things (sorry, don't know what that thing is called) that you stick in the wall then drive your screw into that. Hope this helps James N. Merry Christmas

Q: Questioncan these be used as both front and rear speakers in a surround sound system or do you need or are there bookshelf speakers designated for front and rear?
Asked by Sportdave.
- A:Answer I'm using these as rear surround speakers. Im sure you can use them as front speakers too. These are a little big. Maybe the Polk S10 for rear surround and The S15's for front or maybe tge S20's for fronts.
Answered by Hondatek
Q: QuestionCan I connect bare speaker wire into the back of these? I have an old receiver.
Asked by Jason.
- A:Answer Yes and it did do the job for me. Very simple button mechanism to hold the wire. Don't waste money or time buying jacks or anything. Wire, speaker and receiver all you need!

Q: QuestionI'm currently building a surround system and im using Bower & Wilkins 685's as Fronts and Bower & Wilkins CC6 for centre, can you please tell me either (POLK S15's or Yamaha NSBP182's) would be good as rears, If not what do you think would be good
Asked by steve.
- A:Answer Either one would work great for rear surround speakers. Personally, I would opt for the S15s.

Q: QuestionAre these speakers dipole (for surround sound system)? Are the stands available as well?
Asked by Oskey.
- A:Answer No and no.
Answered by David35
Q: QuestionIs this price per pair?
Asked by JoshCopper.
- A:Answer Yes. This price is per pair. The title is definitely misleading. It even confused multiple store personnel. To top it off, the box itself only has a picture of a single speaker. Before I purchased these tonight after some debate we eventually opened the box which revealed it has two speakers in it.

Q: QuestionFor some reason, these speakers sound muffled (like it plays out of a tube) when I play my music. The speakers 8in away of the wall. They stand on a media center. Nothing blocks them. Do I do something wrong?
Asked by Alexander.
- A:Answer You may have your bass set too high. Try lowering your bass and raising your treble settingz.
