I purchased these speakers along with the signature center speaker to upgrade an office 5.1 surround sound setup from some "home theater in a box" Onkyo speakers. I was concerned the upgrade would be so marginal that I'd have buyer's remorse, or that I'd regret not purchasing the less expensive Polk option. I am happy to report that not only was the upgrade in quality clear from the moment I ran sound through the system, but that it far exceeded my expectations. The speakers were significantly larger than the ones I replaced; calling them "bookshelf" speakers seems to suggest an assumption of quite the large bookshelf. Better to think of these as "mini floor speakers" even though no sensible person would set these on the floor. For a desktop, they're perfect though, giving me the experience of floor speakers on the desk. Every minor audio detail of a video or game shines through these speakers, from crickets to footsteps to explosions to conversation. The audio is just incredibly dynamic and doesn't sound or feel compressed the way it could in the smaller speakers. Plus they just look amazing, especially with the front grille taken off. The silver and black inside the walnut grey box looks really clean and crisp. I'd purchase this again and would definitely highly recommend it to others.

Okay So I currently live in an apartment because I am in the military and constantly move. So I have to worry about bothering neighbors. This is a problem when setting up a system for movies and music. I was extremely decisive on looking for the right speakers on a budget and really wanted to avoid getting a subwoofer because of how well the sound travels to my neighbors apartment just down stairs. So I bought some Sony speakers and they were wayyyy to intense on the high end. I have a small bay audio center speaker which is a perfect balance of highs and mids. I purchased these speakers in hopes for a really strong mids presence with just a little low end. I have a Yamaha aventage reciever and tuned the system in with the ypoa mic and I was blown away. In my small apartment I almost have to be careful with my volume adjustments because the mids and lows are so intense through these speakers. The theater offers a very crisp high end and the 5.25” speakers give such a clean mid/low sound. I listen to anything from alternative/classic rock/grunge/hip hop to electronic music. And these speakers have not disappointed yet. Time will tell through the break in period if they still are this awesome. But I am almost confident I can avoid buying a subwoofer altogether with these two speakers and my small bag audio center. Another thing, I can turn my volume to 90 percent with no distortion and very stable levels across all spectrums. I haven’t went 100% due to my neighbors.

These are primarily an upgrade from my Bose 301 I must say from the beginning I could hear more detail Clara and three-dimensional soundstage Imaging from the speakers when I added the subwoofer it completed the package and gave me outstanding stereo sound these are very noteworthy and I would recommend anyone who is looking for a very reasonably priced but outstanding sounding bookshelf speaker to give these a try

Polk audio signature series are by far the best I've purchased. The sound quality is superb. Playing music you will hear every instrument with clarity. Watching movies will bring scenes to life. This purchase brought my sound system to life and I guarantee Polk signature series will not disappoint.

Brilliant highs and spacious sound! These speakers are diamonds in the rough. The Black Ash, solid, wood cabinet sceams quality. I coupled these w my Onkyo AV receiver for my front speaker/main in my Dolby Atmos setup. The impact is major!

I’ve owned Polk brand electronics before and have had good luck with their middle of the road priced equipment from home theatre to wireless outdoor speakers. These speakers work perfectly for my small living room when playing vinyl.

Bought these to get Atmos to work in my large room. They did very well. I also wanted to see how they would sound as Stereo Speakers. I compared them to T15's and my Polk RTi12. Blew the T15's out of the water. Midrange was clear, high were also clear. Not overpowering. They were a good timbre match to my Polk RTi12.

The Polk audio S15 has clarity and high definition on my 5.1 set up in my bed room . This is truly a high resolution speaker , you can hear all the details and nuances when listening to music and watching high definition 4K UHD movies . Always enjoy them when listening to music on my Denon receiver . Got them last October which was not even pre Black Friday sale and were half off at a sale price of $ 115.00 . Thanks Best Buy for the pre sale of the S15 .

Great sound quality for a small size. The size makes it so they are not obtrusive in a room. No static just a nice clean sound. I lifted them off the floor so the don’t just look like boxes. Overall very happy for a college room. Would recommend for anyone.

There are things that are important to me when listening to music. I love tight, controlled bass, an open, clear midrange and clean highs that are not muddied at higher volumes. These are traits that one expects to hear in full size tower speakers, not a set of bookshelf speakers. I was pleasantly surprised that I did not require a separate sub to get enough bass. These speakers have it in spades without being overly boomy. You will be hard pressed to find better bookshelf speakers for the money. Try them. You will hear your music as intended and every new track will surprise you. Your ears (but not your neighbors) will thank you.

Bought these to complete my Polk Signature series. I already own a pair of S50s, and S30 up front and decided on these to round out my surround speakers. They are a significant upgrade from my old surrounds (old Polk TL speakers), much louder, and clearer. Highly recommended

I have had these speakers playing music in my office for over a week now and so it is time to pen my impressions. I have a Fiio X3 player sending lossless files over a digital coaxial cable to a pre-pro (for bass management) and a sub to cover the lower frequencies. My search for a pair of smaller speakers to be used on my large desk area has been extensive. Over the years I have owned and auditioned speakers from Klipsch, Paradigm, Mirage, Definitive, PSB, Elac and KEF, including the venerable LS50’s which despite the glowing reviews I didn’t much care for. More than any other part of the audio reproduction chain, speakers are the most subjective, while considering the space they’re in. Take 15 audio enthusiasts one at a time and have them listen to the same music through the same setup and they’ll all come away with a different opinion largely based on what the speakers produce. There is no right or wrong, and reviews are not an absolute when it comes to quality, as individual tastes vary so much. That said, I would not have considered any offering from Polk in this price range, until I happened into a showroom where they had a movie playing back over the Signature Series. I was impressed with what I heard, and while I was auditioning other speakers in the same or higher price range, something about the Polks stuck in my head. The pair went on sale for under $200 so I picked them up to give them a try. I have had numerous “I’ve never heard that before” moments on songs I’ve heard hundreds of times. I’m even able to discern lyrics which have eluded me. The drivers ability to resolve all the information is impressive. Everything is presented in a balanced fashion with detail that is never harsh. Imaging is wonderful, even for near field listening. My search for the right speaker has ended with the S15. Don’t get stuck on brand names, models or reviews. Feeding any speaker with quality electronics will elevate the listening enjoyment even further. Try the speakers you’re interested in in your space and settle on the one that sounds best to you. I would highly recommend adding the Polks to your list of speakers to audition.

I have had my eyes on these for about a year now. I wanted these to complete my Polk system and I was able to catch them on sale in November. These speakers rock!! I use these as surround speakers (I know overkill) and I had to literally turn down the volume while watching Endgame. The clarity was way better than I expected and the build quality is very solid. They are actually good enough to be the main speakers for a small surround system. A word of warning, they are pretty heavy and they will need a quality speaker stand for support. I don't know why I waited so long, but I am very happy I made the investment. I still can't believe I caught these on sale for $115!!!! Thank you Best Buy.
