These POLK speakers have great sound quality and were great value. I wished they were a little larger and had a little better base response but am overall very satisfied.

I purchased a full set of Polk Signature Speakers for (mostly) a home theater setup where we needed to migrate to bookshelf speakers for our fronts. I have always had and prefer tower front channel speakers but in this case had to compromise. I originally attempted to use a set of 4- S15 for 5.1 surround paired with the Polk Signature S35 center and an older infinity sub. The sound was actually quite impressive and timber matched to perfection; however, we had the space and opted to purchase the Polk S20 for our front L/R channel and use the S15 for rear surround. The S20 reach down a bit lower in frequency response (39 Hz versus 50 Hz) and it was actually quite noticeable in our 16x30' living room. Keep in mind the S20 are much bigger. The S15 work great as rear surround and mounted nicely in my existing speaker mounts. I did decide to try the S30 center, I like the slim design of the S35 center and it sounds amazingly clear and crisp, but the lower end of the frequency response of the S30 better matches the S20's (42 versus 53 Hz). I will hook that up when it arrives and make a final determination but expect my final setup will include S20 fronts, S30 center, S15 rear surround, and potentially S15 side channels if I ever get a 7.1 or 7.2 receiver. I am overall very impressed by the Polk Signature series, especially for this price. It seems well designed, has good appearance with either the grills off or on. I considered Klipsch RP series, Definitive Technology SM series, as well as Martin Logan Motion..and I tried various lines out at a Magnolia store. However, for the price I feel the Polk do well and my home theater experience is great and I would highly recommend this line of speakers. Make sure you watch prices. Best Buy is good about price match and I used that convenience a couple times as the Polk website had sales that were not displayed through Best Buy, but they price matched. The January 15 return policy during the holidays is great and allows time to break in the speakers and try various options.

I am a beginner DJ so didn't have much funds to start off with. Read the review for these speakers and decided to give them a shot. For my receiver/amplifier, I have an old Aiwa NSX-5200, 3 disc changer. Yep, still have it! Although, my CD changer no longer works, it's perfect to feed audio into through the RCA inputs. These speakers replaced the original Aiwa speakers and they sound really good! Get good bass at low volumes but they do start distorting at peak volume. Perfect size that blends in with my gear and at $159, they are a great bargain! The design is great as I take the grills off to make them look more menacing. Definitely happy with my purchase!

Couldn’t find any really bad reviews on theses little speakers (checked amazon, Best Buy, Audio Forumn, etc...). On sale for $200 so I said what-da-heck! These are below the RTi series which I felt were too forward in the mid and high frequencies. Plus the bass was not full and warm enough to counter balance the sound. So I kept my expectations at a minimum. YIKES! Right out of the box I couldn’t believe I was listening to $200 speakers from Polk. OK, these are little speakers so where was the warmth and bass articulation coming from? After that shock I started concentrating on the mid and high frequencies. Yes they were forward and somewhat bright but this equated to more ambience and more audible decay and less zing! Most of my listening is of the late night, mid to low volume type. Not sure I would recommend these for surround systems playing at high volumes. These are “listening” speakers. I kept saying to myself, “I don’t understand this” during my initial 3 hour listening session. Best Buy has made a huge mistake by not auditioning these to customers in their Magnolia sound rooms. Seems like most of the reviews of all the Signature series speakers are also good. Folks, the secrets out. Read the reviews. Sound like a marketing guy, don’t I? There are some cheap plastic parts to contend with but I guess you got to cut corners at this price. Can’t wait till there broken in...

I bought these for Surround Back channel. And I was amazed. Don't be fooled by size of these speakers. They sound greater than any other Bookshelfs I tried. To say exactly I was surprised when I hooked them to my front line of Yamaha RX V677. I thought that I accidentally left my Sub connected. This thing has a Rich Base and moreover Stainless Steel High Pitch Treble. Well... it sounds almost like good quality floor standing speakers.

I bought these to use as surrounds for my Yamaha HTR with Boston VR965 floor speakers up front. I was so impressed at the sound coming out of these S15 speakers that I decided to put them directly up against the Boston’s. Wouldn’t you know it, while obviously not able to match the volume level, these little bookshelves sounded significantly better than the big VR965s. Better balance, better soundstage and they had a surprising amount of depth and bass. I kept having to check the sub to see if it was on but no, it was all from these little speakers. I was so impressed that I went back and bought the larger S55 fronts and the S35 center to complete the package. Extremely happy and would definitely recommend purchasing any of these Polk items.

I currently have a 7.1 Klipsch system with front tower speakers, but I also have a 116" 3D projection system with a miss match set of speakers for 7.1 sound. I first bought the Polk T15 for 59.00 for surround speakers. After reading several reviews, I decided to try the S15s for front speakers at $158.00 ( price match.) Very glad I did, these speakers are great., very dynamic and bright. The T15s are not in the same league as the S15s (the price is telling), and they are the perfect size. I think the next go around, I will try S20s front, S15s surround, and the T15s rear since I already possess them.

Very good speakers. Really makes the sound pop. You do have to buy the receiver for them, and cable or copper wire.

I am upgrading my stereo from Insignia house brand bookshelf speakers (now discontinued, but were very good for the price) to these. My chief complaint with the Insignias was lack of bass. They were designed to be surround sound speakers, not primary speakers for a stereo. These Polk speakers have very good bass. It is not boomy or wooly, it doesn't vibrate your skull like a big subwoofer does, it's just enough so you know the bass is there. I doubt I'd want any more bass honestly, for my room. Treble range is very clear and forward. The soundstage (the invisible placement of the music in space) is much more apparent than the Insignia speakers as well. I really doubt you could get better speakers for this money, especially while on sale. Highly recommended. I could only imagine how a Polk Signature setup would sound in a 5.1 setup for home theater. Polk is a long-time name in home audio, they have always done great work. These speakers are no exception.

I bought an “entry level” Polk 7-speaker package about 4 years ago. Blew up the sub, replaced with higher end Polk pair of subs, Finally blew up the fronts, replaced them with Signature 15. Best decision. The highs are clarity gold. I crossover the bass to my subs so I can’t speak to that (wouldn’t want a bookshelf speaker handling bass duty) but for the money these are lights out a steal for $230/pair.

This is an amazing speaker that sounds like something much bigger. I was looking for passive speakers with a passive subwoofer, but apparently they don't make passive subwoofers any more. But these speakers have a built-in subwoofer (look at the port in the back), so they don't need a separate sub. We played some CDs through these and the sound is crystal clear, I can't recommend the S15 enough! We greatly appreciated being able to A/B them with other speakers at the Best Buy in Manhattan, KS, so we bought them right there.

Bought a pair of these in the Polk S10's version at a great price. Placed them as Height Channels accompanying the front stage Polk S55's L&R Channels, 2 Polk PSW-108's Subwoofers, & Polk S35 Center Channel. Polk S50's L&R Rear Channels which are complimented by 2 more Polk PSW-108's Subwoofers. What an amazing sound these speakers produce working in unison with one another (crisp, clear, & thunderous). Completely satisfied with my purchase. Thanks Bestbuy, keep up the good work!!!
