I bought these in lieu of a soundbar for a small sitting room with a TV. So far, I have only used them for stereo music from apps and a computer but they have good presence. They are not too tall so just about pass the Wife Acceptance Factor test. I have not tried them horizontally yet but might do, to really score high on WAF, although the sound purist in me doesn't want to. I have mine coupled with a random sub-woofer and they seem to all play ok. I'm very happy with them, especially for the price and think they are much better than a soundbar although I have yet to try them with TV broadcasts. For music, they are great.

Best Deal I Ever Got that wasn't Free in 59 Years

Best $360 (plus tax, but free S/H and 5 year Polk Warranty) I ever spent; got Twelve of'm for that! Expecting that part to be edited out, so let me just say that if I had heard them pumping out Pink Floyd in a store (nearest is an hour away), would've paid twice that and still think I got lucky. Bought them solely on the Polk name, a tiny pic from a daily Best Buy e-mail, and then reviews galore from all over. Proof-positive and a for-sure buy is to go listen to them, favorite CD's in hand; the Polks Will Demonstrate a good from bad MP-3 as well as any speaker pair out there, so leave the little "music" box at home. I have read many thousands of reviews over the years and they help like nothing else can; this is possibly my tenth or so writing one, as something has to really shine above all others to garner some of my life-minutes. A second clue to the Perfection per Unit Volume that THESE particular Polks deliver is that you will Not find specs on them anywhere, except this: 'Power Requirements: 20-100W' Even then, no reference to Watts RMS (as opposed to "Peak" or "Music" power et al, tools of the BS-sellers' trade. Reason? If Polk published the numbers, the price, the warranty, pushed for professional reviews, posted buyer reviews, then how on Earth are they going to sell their Expensive wares? Only just so many rich stupid people and then you're done.

Not over priced however worth every penny. I used them as my rear speaker paired with a set of Sony Bookshelfs and a Klipsch 12 and hooked up to a Onkyo 636 Receiver and it's music to my ears good crisp clean sound. Movies are over the top to the drip of water to every shell casing hitting the ground. Imagine that.

I purchased these speakers while they were on sale. These little guys are perfect for my needs. they are being used as surround speakers in my home theatre setup I can not say whether they would be good as a primary speaker, but if you are just looking for a quality surround one then this pair will do a good job for you

These speakers were the start of my new living room sound setup, and they sound great on their own as stereo sound. Even better with a full surround setup, but if you start with these you won't be let down!

These little speakers have come down in price and are completely awesome for the new price point. They are front ported with a removable face and a 4" woofer and 1" tweeter. I've setup a system using these as fronts, sides and rears and the quality is quite good. Definitely not a high-end sound like ELAC or other brands, but the price can't be beat in the big box stores. If you're interested in a bit better sound for a similar price look for the Micca MB-42x elsewhere online.

I bought these to replace some very old speakers, one of which was no longer working. I am impressed with their performance and power for their size. They are stronger on tribal, but still clear. Very good value.

They are great sounding speakers. I replaced some large floor speakers that had 15 inch woofers. These do well with a lot less space, I would recommend them to everyone.

Mid range is a little lacking but shows up some when placed closed to a wall. Keyhole slot on back if you want to wall mount even. A bargain when run on sale for $50 but look around at others at its regular price. Combined with the Insignia stereo receiver when at it's sale price - this is a nice little $150 system to replace the horrible built in TV speakers and better sounding than inexpensive sound bars. Would be a good garage system as well.

Give these little babies about 48 hours to break-in, and you will be thrilled with their clarity and output! We purchased several sets for our home theater and have been nothing but happy with them. We did pair them with a Kinergetics sub that we've had for ages and the fullness of sound and spacial characteristics are pretty spectacular, especially in the Atmos configuration! Detailed, lively, and incredibly cost effective! While you can find better, you won't find anything close to this quality at it's price. Our living room is 14' x 30' and there is absolutely NO need for more power than these are rated for!

It's hard to find good speakers at a reasonable price. I didn't want to spend much for the back channel of my surround sound, but I hated to sacrifice quality. These speakers are just the thing! Great sound at a good price. Just what I needed.

I am a big Klipsch fan having their center channel and 12 inch sub, but after buying the T-150 floor speakers from Polk and being impressed with the performance of those, seeing these for $50 caught my eye. I am using these as Zone B Speakers for the upstairs of my house (using a Rocketfish Wi-Fi adapter), and as soon as I turned on my receiver i was blown away. I saw no signs of quality loss due to the W-Fi adapter. They blew my Yamaha bookshelves away. No clipping or distortion, and they fill the entire upstairs of the house. As a former car audio junkie, I always turned my nose up at Polk, but their home audio is not to be taken lightly. Best budget purchase I have ever made, and will be purchasing a pair to use as my rear surround speakers in the basement.
