These speakers won't blow anyone out of the water. They will cost a fraction of what speakers that even sound "just a bit better," though, so for anyone other than highly-discerning aficionados, the value on these is great. I purchased on sale for $50. Still a good purchase at MSRP, but maybe consider splurging a little on a better set from another manufacturer if you can't wait for another sale on these.

I bought 2 pairs (4 speakers) for my surround sound in my theater room. I purchased them when they were 50% off. Excellent deal. $50 for a pair. Wow. The sound quality is great. I have them in a 12x14 theater room on a 5.1 system and it sounds amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to save yourself $$$ and buy them!

These are high quality bookshelf speakers. I love the full sound that comes from these smaller speakers. Polk Audio had a reputation for well engineered speakers when they were made here in Baltimore, MD. Although these are made in China, they live up to the name and the reputation.

Replaced a set of blown sonys with these and wow. Great crisp clear sound. Way better low frequency response. Movies sound so much better. Now I want to replace all my speakers with Polks!

I am not an "audiophile" and my living room is an odd shape for acoustics. I paired these with a Denon 920 receiver and to sp-10 subwoofers and I am completely satisfied. They sound how you would expect them to sound and don't take a crazy amount of power to push them. They sound great for someone on a budget.

I really like the sound of the speakers. Even without a subwoofer I get nice tones. I uses these specifically for album and cassette playback and I get rich sound. If you're looking for a nice set of bookshelf speakers for vinyl playback these will please the regular user.

Great little speakers and worth the price when they're on sale. The only con against these speakers is the same as for any small bookshelf speakers, they lack serious bass. Fortunately a subwoofer will take care of that and you have a very nice sounding system.

These speakers are okay for a very small system. I tried them with a Denon AVR 1802 to play vinyl records. I ended up replacing with a mid priced Polk Audio set that was a display item at another store.

Long time Polk fan. Bought these to replace existing Polk front speakers and convert those to height channel speakers for Dolby Atmos. Far from the best speakers money can buy, but I've got a pretty darn good sounding system now.

I bought these on sale to replace my old speakers. I use them as the front speakers for my TV surround and 2 channel stereo for my vinyl listening. Since I have a subwoofer for my 5.1 receiver up I get really good distribution of sound with the tweeters on these book shelf speakers.

Researched other speakers this size, and was floored by the expense of some that were equivalent to the Polk units. The sound is very good, as I’m using them as rear speakers in my 5.1 A/V set-up. The subwoofer is also a Polk Audio product-beginning a brand loyalty!

Good match for the Polk center speaker and subwoofer. Compliments our DCM Time Windows (towers) that I can't bear to part with. I've slowly replaced a surround speaker setup that sucked with Polks and couldn't be happier.

I purchased these speakers to provide some surround sound for a TV in a relatively small space. I think what I ended up with would be considered a 3.1 system, combining this pair of bookshelf speakers with a JBL center channel speaker that I already had. I am very pleased with the result, getting what I consider to be be good crisp stereo sound with a surround sound effect, much better than the sound I was getting with a sound bar.

First off... these are used as Rear Surround Speakers in a 7.2 system. Powered by Marantz MA-500 Mono Amplifiers, these work quite well. The mids and highs seem to blend well with the fronts. B&W 802's powered by Proceed HPA-2 amplifiers in mono. Bottom line: great affordable way to fill up the back!

Ok, these are entry level bookshelf speakers that are very reasonably priced. Polk makes excellent products and are a great value. I've owned many pairs including M40, M50, S15, S20 and PSW505. Every time I gotten a pair of Polks I've always been very impressed and thought "wow" what a great value. Until now. This is the first time I haven't been impressed right out of the box. Maybe they'll grow on me, but the sound is very flat and lifeless. You can tell the tweeters are not on par with their pricier offerings. I've EQ'ed them to try to bring them to life but so far, meh. If your going to "hide" them in the back of your 7.1 system or use them as garage speakers they'd be fine. If you can spring for the S15 I'd go there instead.

I picked these up on sale for $50, and I can't imagine anything putting out a better sound for that price. Not much bass, especially in a large room, but we paired with a 12" powered sub and these have a good high and mid range for that pairing. No distortion at higher volumes. Very happy, great speakers.

These are awesome. Especially for the price. $65!! Running these with Polk S35 (Center Channel), Polk PSW108 (SubWoofer), Onkyo TX-NR696 (Receiver), Sony X900H 65in., and rear ceiling channels. I’m super happy with my purchase.
