I love this controller it works great for all my switch and much easier to use then the joycon controller and for $19.99 you can’t beat that price, it doesn’t have the motion controls like the more expensive controller but I don’t use that feature in any of my games anyhow. Very satisfied with this purchase would definately recommend.

I prefer using this remote than the remotes that come with the system because it feels better. Works amazing with games like MARIO Kart 8.

Sometimes having a full controller just works better. Especially when pulling off trick moves in Super Mario Odyssey.
The official Switch Pro controller was out of my price range, but I found this wired option for much less. And save for some more minor drawbacks, it functions well as a standard controller.
You're not getting a wireless option, but the cord is long enough for most setups. There's no rumble feature or Amiibo support, but you can use the Joy-Cons for that.
It's a basic controller option that works well, for half the price of the official Pro controller.

This controller definitely looks nice and is functional to play any games that would be compatible with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, but it doesn't have as many features I would have liked, so I did return this item to the store to buy the official NSPC.
Pros
Looks very nice, a stand out red color with a mario theme looks great.
Very long wire for the controller to work with so you have room to play on the couch while connected to the NS Hub.
Affordable price.
Cons
Wired only, I didn't notice this until after I purchased it.
No rumble features, HD or otherwise.

As a huge Zelda fan I was very excited to get this controller. It looks great and is a little bigger than the standard joy con controller so it fits better in my hands. The only thing that I do not like is that it does not have a rumble feature built in so parts of the game don't work well with it. However for the price this is an awesome deal.

better D pad than the pro controller

I got this as the regular joy cons lack a proper D pad and the pro controller I have from nintendo has a d pad that registers double inputs when playing fighting games. This controller has excellent quality for the money. A proper d pad, multiple control sticks you can change included, a long cable, cool design, and most importantly premium parts. If you checkout some tear downs online where people take the controller apart you can see that they use expensive parts like metal and weighs internally. The injection molded plastic pieces are also top notch. You would expect a controller of this quality to cost a lot more.
The only negatives i can think of is the lack of amiibo reader, motion, and rumble. I think this controller is great as a 2nd one for in home or just as a extra option for certain games. I loved it so much I already bought the zelda version as well.

If you don't want to spend $69.99 on the official controller, then this is worth considering. The controller feels light, but not in a cheap way and comes with multiple analog sticks you can swap out.
Just be aware that this controller not wireless and must be plugged into your switch. It also lacks rumble, motion controls and an NFC reader which some games may rely on. If the games you play require these features, I suggest saving up for the official Nintendo Pro controller.

This is a great controller. The buttons are solid and D-pad makes it easy for fighting game or if you use it for old school games. Comes with interchangeable analog sticks to give better comfort. Now for the bad news... It's wired, no amiibo support and no rumble support. Like I said. Great to have as a backup controller.

When compared to the pro controller it’s a low cheaper, but with it being cheaper means less features. So it has to be wired in, and there is no vibration and motion controls. If that’s a kill point then don’t get it and save up money for the pro controller, but if you’re okay with it then $30 is a good deal.

Nice and light. Interchangeable thumbs is a nice touch. NO RUMBLE so everybody knows. If that is fine, this is an excellent product, long connect controller too.

I needed an extra controller so that it would be more confortable to play Mario Kart with a friend vs having to use a single joycon.
It's a nice feeling controller for the price. You need to plug it in to the dock for the switch, or you can also use a USB C OTG cable to use it. The only downside is that its wired, but it's roughly a third of the cost of the pro controller, so.........
One last thing - it's a USB controller, so I wouldn't be surprised if it works for computers as well. Do your research though - I haven't tried it so I don't know if it works for sure!

To be honest, I purchased this controller based on aesthetics alone. I love Mario, and having the Super Mario controller just felt right for indulging in Odyssey. It has classic Mario designs that are clearly visible yet subtle against the red surface. Nicely thought out, and really cool if you're a Mario fan and collector like me. The bonus is that it feels really good in your hands and doesn't slip. The cable is long enough to play at a comfortable distance. Really happy with my purchase.

We needed a couple extra controllers for Mario Kart night and other games. These fit our purpose perfectly. They're priced fair and operate as expected. The cord length is also great, as it allows you some distance and comfort in sitting where you want to sit - not where you have to sit. It would have been cool for these to have rumble in them, but that would have meant a higher price tag.
In short, function, decent price, operates well. Worth a purchase.

A great controller for what you are paying. your only other option for this style of controller is much more expensive and the only real differences are the motion controls and wireless capabilities. if you can look past those two things, this is the perfect controller for you. a nice bonus is the design on the controllers brings you away from the stale color palate of the Nintento brand pro controller and includes our favorite character, mario.

While is a great controller, the fact that it is wired makes it a bit precarious to use with the Switch, since the console itself is so light. There is always a bit of concern you might pull the console down. However, the buttons feel nice and clicky and the swappable joysticks are a great touch. At less than half the price of the pro controller, this is a great addition to pick up for multiplayer with company.

I was getting tired of using the joycon grip to play docked Skyrim, but I didn't want to spend the $70 on a wireless Pro Controller.
I got this at $19.99, and for that price it it wonderful. Very comfortable, all the buttons feel good, and it seems well made.
The only reason I docked a star was for lack of any rumble of amiibo support.

I was very skeptical about picking this controller up considering the very mixed reviews I had seen online about third party controllers on the switch. After purchasing this controller it connected immediately and I have had no issues with it. Since it is a cheaper controller it feels slightly cheap. You get what you pay for. While it may not have rumble or motion control, it works just fine and considering it only costs a fraction of what a pro controller costs I recommend getting this if you're under a tight budget or need a decent controller. That being said I do plan on eventually purchasing an official pro controller, but currently I am using this and it works wonderful for the price. If you're on the fence like I was, I say pull the trigger and pick it up. It's a solid controller.

Normal size controller and cheaper than cordless controllers. I prefer this over the tiny joycon. Design looks good with subdued color and cord is plenty long. Member when there weren't cordless controllers?
