This is a game that I had zero expectations for and surprised me countlessly to no end. The music, environment, characters, all of it was such an experience that I'll be revisiting for many years to come.

Bioshock will come to be known as one of the premier gaming franchises of this generation. If you haven't picked up the first game in the series yet, you should definitely do so!

Believe it or not, this is the first shooter I've ever played, and only the second M rated game I've ever purchased (Heavy Rain convinced M was for Mature and not just really violent). Most first person shooters don't have anything to interest me as far as story or character development to make up for the fact that I'm not very good at shooting things, and I don't enjoy extreme violence. Don't get me wrong, this game is extremely violent, and contains many disturbing images. Maybe fps veterans won't find themselves shocked by some of the images, but I was. What makes this game worth playing for me is that what's happening in the game actually made me think. In a city founded based on "free enterprise", the residents went a lot overboard on genetic enhancement. Is this place really free? Why would anyone do that to themselves? How crazy and violent can people get, before I don't feel bad shooting them? The city of Rapture is gorgeous (when you're not in the utilitarian parts) and 40s jazz plays on various phonographs. The bad guys are zombie like, not terribly human and very creepy. This is a high quality game, that won't disappoint even though it's a few years old.

This game has one of the best stories of any game I have ever played. And to go with the dark story comes the city of Rapture, with it's dark aura and people. The gameplay is also great with a number of abilities you can use alongside a number of different guns. Overall amazing game.
