An interesting idea, but plays a little clunky.

Bladestorm, the hundred years war is a strategy game centering around a fictionalized account of a mercenary during the hundred years war. It has little basis in history and is enjoyable enough from a storyline aspect, though the dialogue often leaves a lot to be desired. The gameplay itself is somewhere between most RTS types and the Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors thing. You control your one mercenary, a powerful character in his own right, but you cannot hope to dominate the field alone. To that end you control different units and have them travel along with you. You do not want to be caught without a unity by anyone, even just a group of nobody soldiers, and I feel this is a good thing. The game makes you feel like you could possibly be defeated, especially when the black prince shows up and mops the floor with you. There are a few control issues, though these are mostly minor, and the graphics aren't what we've come to expect in a game these days, but the game itself is solidly worth taking a look at if you're a fan of either RTS games or the Dynasty Warriors games, and especially if you enjoy both, like me. Good, but never exceptional.
