A nice set of improvements

That's not to say that the game is not good; to the contrary, it has that full "Final Fantasy" flavour which the first one lacked and many fans know and love.

Eh--it's a game

XIII-2 has a weird story that definitely doesn't seem to fit in to the theme XIII played off of. Bunch of time travel stuff. The battle system is basically the same, but leveling up is MUCH less rewarding. It takes some getting used to, but it's not BAD.

FFXIII-2: A Time Travel Conundrum

Yes, it is FF so if you like these games there will be something for you to enjoy here but for newcomers you're better off playing FFX Remaster.
