    Good but not awesome

Its a decent FF, but the plot is not that good neither the gameplay. The system is not fairly exploited unless you plan to play the end game, which has a lot of farming involved.

This is a great game for FF fans. The graphics and story are awesome. The new battle system is ok once you get use to it. The game play can become repetitive.

We waited so long for this?

Like everyone who is a fan of the series, I, too been waiting so long for this game to come out. What a disappointment. This game makes baby Jesus and baby Elvis cry. The first part of the game is nothing but movies and tapping X constantly. The characters constantly gasp during movies, which is frequent and annoying. Gameplay is way different. If your lead dies then its game over, can't revive them or swap, other characters are just support. People want to know what the battle system is like. It is one big CF. Its like the old ATB in FFX mixed with a sad watered down gambit system in FFXII. Way watered down. After two hours worth of movies and tapping X alot, you will finally get to level up. I'd like to explain it but like the storyline in the game, it doesn' make sense. If you like typical RPGs leveling up your character, exploring, and tons of options for character enhancement, this isn't your game. It's very linear and more for showing off graphics. If bright flashing lights and weird noises distract you easily from actual gameplay, this game is for you. Huge disappointment.

    BEST FINAL FANTASY!!!!!!

This is by far the best final fantasy in the series. I am a big FF VII and X fan, but this takes the number one spot. A must buy for every final fantasy or RPG fan out there!

The game is very good, just hope next time squeenix decides to go back traditional medieval times. To me FF is better with dragons and real flesh enemies instead of robots.

i been reasearching for this particular game and i think that it will be more of the same, ye i know fans will hate me but i find this as a shame related to real RPG games (like baldur's gate, kotor, or fallout 1&2) so personally im not goiung to pick this one up though i might play it eventually somewhere in my friends home, but if you ask my opinion? i dont recomend this

    Don't buy this game

If you like traditional role-play games, this is not for you. Unlike most RPG's, there's no leveling up. If you get to an enemy or boss and you can't beat it, you're stuck. You can't just go and level up to get stronger. The game forces you to follow a set path. This supposedly changes at chapter 11. Good luck getting to that point. It's tedious and boring. The characters have annoying personalities. The bottom line is: the game's just not fun. This was wasted money. I wound up selling the game after a few days and throwing away the guide.

If you are not a fan of fantasies, things that are final, or the number 13, you might like this game. If you like all 3 together, then you MUST get this game! It has them all!

An RPG that's not an RPG

    Posted .

I am a diehard Final Fantasy fan that is probably going to get back into it after being completely unhappy with this choice of game. Final Fantasy XIII was the first Final Fantasy that Square Enix took upon themselves to make more into a third person shooter than an actual developing roleplay game. I enjoyed the aspects of Final Fantasy where you could relax in towns without having to be plagued by fights and more and more creatures. Final Fantasy XIII is merely a story that throws the players at more and more creatures and doesn't even give players the opportunity to determine their own path throughout the game. It's not really an RPG. Not really. An RPG is like Mass Effect or Elder Scrolls where players can choose how their character evolves and what happens to the story. Remain good and fight for good, or turn evil and fight for the dark side. THAT is an RPG. Final Fantasy XIII doesn't offer any of that. You're pretty much just along for the ride.

from the moment i saw FFXIII i wasn't impressed. so i knew that this would be the 1st FF game i wouldn't buy by since FFIII came to the US on NES. then about a month later i saw a trailer for FFXIIIVS, and it looked great. So no, i will not get FFXIII, but i will have FFXIIIVS, i cant wait for that one!
