Starting on Talos one alone and surrounded by creatures and other-worldly monstrosities has never felt so gripping. Instilling a sense of dread early on with limited resources and ammo, constantly being bombarded by mimics disguised as coffee mugs, rolls of toilet paper and other non-inspiring objects. As you progress you'll find blue-prints enabling you to build ammunition, weapons and consumables. Rewarding those who like to check every nook and cranny. Aside from scavenging you're able to peek into the lives of those stationed aboard Talos one via open terminals. A glimpse into the day to day routines, to the more nefarious deeds of the employees. You also gain access to security terminals where you can locate every (and I mean every) employee on board living or dead. Some terminals will also yield maps and schematics as well. The skill tree at first seems very overwhelming where each upgrade in the beginning seems like a monumental choice. At a certain point in the game you have the choice of infusing alien skills into your play-style enabling you make some truly devastating builds. As you progress and determine the play-style you want the choices you want to make become less daunting. The game takes you various facilities around the space station, each section has its own unique story and characters tied to them. From a sprawling garden to lavish lounge and even exiting the station for some flight among the stars. Sadly, the load times are quite long and become increasingly frustrating toward the end of the game due to backtracking. All in all I loved almost every aspect of this game. The various enemy types, weapons, characters and locales make this a truly horrifying and unique experience. From the lonely abandoned hallways to the endless expanse of floating around Talos one, very few games nowadays can hit that sweet spot between horror and action but PREY nails it.

This was a perfect change of pace from all the typical FPS games that come out. This game is very similar to System Shock. You are alone, and the game makes sure you know that. It is creepy and will get you on scares a few times. The story is well written and the gameplay is great. If you are looking for something new that lets you be creative, this is your game.

Prey is one of the best games of the year. A cross between Deus Ex and System Shock/Bioshock. It’s very large with dozens of hours worth of side quests (that are mostly very interesting) to be found in the large open space station, Talios I. Much like the other games mentioned above; player-choice is is the main directive as you can use your brain or trigger finger to solve situations. Cannot recommend the game enough.

Prey is definitely one of my favorite games this year because the story is well thought out and it has a great art style and atmosphere. Despite it being open world, the story progresses fluidly and I have yet to find any issues with it. I would highly recommend this game to people who are fans of story-telling games.

Being really big Deadspace series fans, my husband and I have been wanting to get this game. Probably closest game to Deadspace as you'll get these days, superb graphics, story, and weapons! This one will induce hours of gameplay with new surprises around every corner. Got this for one crazy heck of a deal while on sale for only 29.99 plus our gamer club discount on ytop of that made it easily affordable! Not regret this purchase in any way.

Prey is hard to pick up initially and you may die a lot at the beginning because the game doesn't give you much time to figure out everything. The start is the best start I have seen in a while. The Mimic aliens will always keep you on your toes which makes the game so exhilarating to play. You have to play this with your headset on for maximum immersion. The sound track is amazing and level design is among the best our there. This is one of the underrated games of the last year.

I enjoyed the different aspects of the game very much. I thought the story was good although the varying levels of difficulty could be annoying at times. Overall a fun play and I recommend at a very good price.

This is an excellent game that will keep you going for quite some time if you play through all of the additional quests. You need to make sure to really look around you at all times so that you do not miss anything, like tunnels, notes, etc. I am shocked that it is only $39.99 as opposed to most other games of this caliber coming in at $59.99. Well worth the play.

I have played very few games that legitimately gave me anxiety. Outlast being among the top ones, but Prey is a seriously close second. In this game, *anything* can be a mimic and you never know if the roll of toilet paper sitting on the shelf is going to come alive and try to kill you! It is an absolute horror fest trying to navigate the space station and complete missions while not knowing if a monster is around the corner. The graphics are well done and the game has a pretty good story. Play it in the dark!

A great science fiction game. The story, character, and weapons are very sci-fi. At the cost it is now, it's definitely worth it. I haven't tried the dlc, but this game is good enough that I want to.

I'm thoroughly enjoying my time with Prey. Though I have not finished the main story, I'll share my impressions after about 15-20 hours of playing. The atmosphere of the environment is well thought out - providing a great overall look and catering to a variety of play styles. The story is interesting so far and really hooks you into wanting to know more as you progress. Yet, my favorite part has to be the skill tree design. Prey has a moderately high difficulty level and each time you select a new skill, it has an immediate impact on your ability to survive or thrive. The team that created this obviously did so with a lot of care and attention to detail. It is a great testament to single player story driven games.

I am an old-school RPG gamer and purchased Prey recently after needing a break from replaying Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey for the umpteenth time. After reviewing some of the gaming websites feedback, I thought I'd risk the $15 on checking this out. I was not disappointed. It is almost like playing a new version of System Shock mixed in with some more horror-ish themes. It is not overly gory so just horror-ish with the types of enemies and some that utilize the element of surprise...I'm looking at you Mimics. I'm probably only halfway through the game but am thoroughly enjoying it. This is not a shootem-up killer game. Ammo is relatively precious but can be made once you figure out how to recycle just about anything thanks to the recycler charge. I do like that there are many ways to navigate obstacles. It's mostly a slow, methodical exploration game but there are some enemies that make you run as fast as you can to change locations if you can't fight. Highly recommended game for a very small investment if this is your style game.

As a huge Dishonored fan, I was excited to finally pick this game up and Arkane Studios definitely has another hit on their hands. This game seemingly came and went without much fanfare in the industry, but it might be my most underrated game of the year. The atmosphere is amazing and game just plays and feels so good. It's got a great tensity and some seriously interesting and stimulating intrigue. There's a lot of mystery to dissect and I'm enjoying every minute of it. If you like the Dishonored series or if you're a fan of "immersive sim" games like I am, this game is a must play!

Don't go into it thinking it'll play like Doom. It's a thoughtful game, and has some amazing visuals. My advice is to take it slow, and really explore the environments.

At first I didn't care much for this game. But after playing for a while I got in to it. The story is pretty good, graphics are pretty good, gameplay is also pretty good. The only bad thing I can really say about it is the lack of diversity when it comes to the enemies. They are all just a bunch of black things with different powers. But powers you can get for yourself so that is a plus.
