Great Upgrade from Debut Carbon DC

If you can get this anywhere close to the same price as the standard Debut Carbon DC, do it! This is an upgraded turntable with a much nicer acrylic platter ($129 extra) and a built in Speed Box ($129 extra). The speed box allows you to change record speed at the touch of a button rather than have to move the belt to another pulley. Also it maintains a more stable speed this way. The Beatles print is cool, but not a necessity for me. Anywhere close to $400 is a steal for this table. Normally closer to $600. BTW, the Ortofon cartridge sounds awesome! This setup with the right amplifier sounds better than CD. Much warmer with more depth to the music.

Set up my old pioneer turntable in workout room and enjoyed it so much that I thought it would be nice to have one hooked up to the home theater system. I had seen a few in stores that did not impress then got email from Best Buy about this project beatle's turntable and thought this is the one. This is by far the best turntable I have ever owned easy to set up great sound and the beatle's what else could you want highly recommend!

Very nice turntable for the price. I tried a Rega P1, had to return it because it ran too fast. The Pro-ject is dead-on speedwise, thanks to the built-in electronic speed control, and comes with a better cartridge. Setup is a snap and you're off and running within minutes. I think the Pro-ject has a better tonearm too. The Debut Carbon Esprit SB is definite bargain in this price range, and includes several upgrade tweaks (acrylic platter, speed box, etc.) that save hundreds compared to buying the basic Debut Carbon and adding upgrades later.

I nice taste of the lower end of high end analog

I was a little concerned about buying this given I have read about hum and rumble issues but experienced neither. It is a solidly built little table. I have a lower end Rega with a Sumiko Blue Point 2 so hard to compare given that Blue Point runs about the same as this table but the sound is good enough to really enjoy vinyl. I am running with a Parasound phono unit into an Audio Research LS17 to Audio Research D400IIs played through Magnepan 20.7s. I know this phono set up is not in the same league as the rest of my gear but had Best Buy gift certificates, liked the Beatles unit and not a huge vinyl guy but wanted a second turntable for main floor system.. Auto speed selection is nice, set up is easy and it is a good looking fairly hefty table for this price range. Worth a look at this price point

I got this for the holiday discounted price of $399, about $250 lower than list. This table is much quieter than my Audio-Technica AT-LP120. Inner Groove Distortion is basically non-existent, so factory setup was done properly, and the table is remarkably well-isolated from platform vibrations. Speed box, DC motor, acrylic platter, and 78rpm capability make this a very worthwhile upgrade over the Debut Carbon, which is already a good buy in itself.

My first one was defective. Noisy motor and the patch cable was unreliable. The replacement is great so far. Nice warm sound. Looks great, of course. Easy to setup.

Excellent record player 33 1/2/45/78 rpm

This is a great quality turntable! The plater is very heavyweight acrylic and the motor is ac standalone for low noise with a dual belt drive unit for running 33 1/2 rpm or 45 rpm or on the next size drive wheel it turns 45 rpm and 78 rpm. The unit has a grounding bide and stereo rca inputs. The main add on Best Buy.com doesn't say anything about needing a phono stage pre amp to use with standard rca inputs for modern head units also bestbuy doesn't sell a preamp so I ended up buying one online from pro-ject direct so that needs addressing Best Buy. That's why I only gave it a 3 star rating due to lack of information and lack of matching products to use it

Had been looking to upgrade my current turntable which I bought for around $400 for quite some time. Not a huge Beatles fan even though I appreciate their music, but the opportunity to have something collectible while at the same time getting a table that every review said sounded great was too much to pass up. Not disappointed at all, easy to set up and you can tell the build quality the moment you put vinyl on it and start listening. Highly recommended if you are looking for a step above entry level and what something that everyone will talk about.

Replaced a much more expensive Pro-ject turntable with this. Setup was a breeze. Speedbox really works, as I use a heavy record weight I switched the Ortofon Red styus for a Blue. Fantastic, clean sound. And a bargain. If you are thinking of getting a Debut Carbon, get this instead. Upgrades are worth it.

Awesome player. We have all vintage old school equipment so were sceptical. The first one we got unfortunately had a glitch in the needle. We called the manufacturer because we thought it might not work with our vintage equipment. They were awesome, told us to return it to Best Buy. They were also awesome, gave us a new one and WOW. the sound is so crisp.

excellent turntable. set up support on Utube makes set up easy. good design and operation. i gave it four stars because the connector cable was not gold connectors. no reason not to be packed and sold with those. beatles graphic is not a distraction at all in the design. i have around 30 hours on the red otofon and it is opening up and breaking in very will. the image and separation are very good. i recommend.

I was sold on Pro-Ject turntables, but unsure of the special Beatles edition. The bottom line is the turntable is of excellent quality, and was relatively simple to set up. Sound quality is outstanding. I am a huge Beatles fan, so that is a bonus for me. I would definitely recommend the brand and this model.

I have been eying this turntable for over a year and I am glad I finally went ahead and invested in it. Great clear sound, comes with a preinstalled cartridge, so set up is super simple, takes only 10 mins even if you only somewhat know what you're doing. If you're looking to upgrade from your entry level turntable this one is definitely the way to go.

Follow the instructions and setup is easy. It's been 30 years since I last used a turntable and it was at the time an upper class unit. This Debut Carbon is every bit as good. Great sound using Yamaha amp in 7 ch stereo mode driving vintage Polk RTA12 speakers front and rear. Make sure you clean your records and you will be quite happy with the results.

I originally bought the Project Debut Carbon DC. Very quickly upgraded with the Acrylic Platter, a supper add-on. I therefore considered the Esprit model and when I saw The Beatles 1964 Edition, that sealed the deal. It includes the upgrades I had purchased separately and other internal additions that are worth every cent. I cannot say the overall sound is stunningly different to the DC model, but it remains Excellent. 4 Stars only because I haven't tried anything else.

Since my purchase the price has gone up, pro-ject is a good turntable, The Beatles editions comes with a sped control button, upgrade carbon fiber arm and acrylic turntable (the regular Carbon Esprit SB is $699), this was only $399 and it's a collectors edition. Solid Buy, sounds great!

Have been using this awesome turntable for a couple of weeks. Easy set up, and outstanding sound. Really great deal because of the Beatles graphics which were apparently not very popular. I dig them, and really dig the record player. Highly recommend.

I got this on sale and with all the features that comes with it, it’s a no brainer if you are looking to buy a turntable in this price range. Add all the features it has and you will not find anything less than $700 in any brand. If you have a very good amp ($1500 price range) with a very good preamp, speaker ($1000~) and a subwoofer ($750~), you will get the most out of this turntable. Anything less will relatively diminish the sound quality. Don’t get me wrong, it will still sound good when added on any stereo system but if it doesn’t, it might not be a match with your amp/speaker. I added Q-up and now I’m all set.
