Customers consistently note the large, high-quality screen and sturdy build of the Pro 5000 Smart Treadmill. Positive feedback also highlights the effective incline/decline range and the inclusion of a helpful fan. However, some users experienced issues with iFIT connectivity and reported difficulties with assembly. A few also mentioned motor problems after extended use.

Good Machine, Bad Interface

We were very excited to get this treadmill. We had done a good bit of research on various machines and decided this one would be a good choice. When it was on sale for almost half off, we decided to purchase it.
Machine Operation
---------------------------
We plan to use it mainly for walking and easy jogging at a low incline. As a treadmill, it works fine. The machine is solid and feels very stable in use.
I'm fairly certain that the speed isn't calibrated properly. For example, on the machine, 3.0 mph is a brisk walk and 4.0 mph is a jog. In the real world and other treadmills I've used, these speeds translate to a stroll and brisk walk for me.
There are multiple user controls. There are easy to reach toggles for speed and incline. The onscreen controls and speed / include adjustments immediately below the screen are difficult to operate during a workout.
User Interface
--------------------
The user interface is horrible. The interface is slow and the screen if very particular as to where you press. If you've used an iphone, ipad, or any modern smartphone/tablet, you will be disappointed and frustrated with the experience. Unfortunately, you are forced to deal with it to get to the point of using the manual controls. It takes almost 5 minutes from the time you turn on the machine to the point when you can start a manual workout.
I've tried to use several guided iFit workouts and have not had one successfully finish. I get a message mid-workout that says I have a weak wifi signal and it needs to buffer another 25 seconds (or some such thing). Our internet speed is 200mbps and the machine is the closest device in the house to our wireless router. As such, I'm fairly confident the problem is with the machine and not my internet provider or the mesh wifi in my home. Once you receive this message, the machine is frozen and your workout is over. The only remedy is to turn off the machine and turn it back on.
As long as I'm sharing my dislike for the user interface, I'll mention the text size in many places is small. It almost feels like it was designed for a smaller screen and no adjustments were made for this unit with a larger screen.
The bluetooth speakers are also very tricky to set up and predict what will come out of them. I ultimately decided that I'm better off not trying to play music through them.
Overall
----------
It works good as a treadmill. I wish it had a throwback user interface (no wifi and just manual controls for speed, incline and maybe desired time) and showed simple metrics (time, speed, distance).

We would like to talk more with you about what is happening and help you troubleshoot the machine.
After any treadmill is assembled, several updates are needed. In addition, the treadmill should be calibrated. Finally, once all updates are installed, your workouts should not buffer when connected to a proper internet connection.
Please get in touch with us at [email protected] with this unique Case Number (1-R101761) at your earliest convenience. We are ready to help you troubleshoot your machine and get it in excellent working condition so you can fully enjoy all of the benefits.

Good treadmill, I am glad I bought it rather than the t10 which has a much smaller screen. The ifit premium content is great, I decided to just follow them and I went from barely finished a 2mn run to more than an hour non stop. A couple of issues, while the screen is big it cannot be compared to a real tablet - an ipad pro or anything similar. The cup holders are too shallow.

I'm a little disappointed in the lack of some features like heart rate monitor in the grips, and it does not come with the mount for your tablet to go above the display - that's a $100 adder. A heart rate monitor is also an adder for big $. It's heavy duty and sturdy, and folds up easily, and is comfortable to walk and jog on.

We are glad that your treadmill is sturdy and that you find it comfortable to walk and jog on. Although, we are sorry that you are disappointed that it doesn’t come with a heart rate monitor or a tablet mount. We are sorry if this wasn’t made more clear when you were ordering. Quality and functionality are as advertised.
After purchase I found a very similar model on the pro form website named the Pro 2000 and it is priced cheaper but has the same specs as the Pro 5000, the 5000 is not on the Pro form website.

We are glad that the quality and functionality of your treadmill are as you had expected. The ProForm Pro 2000 treadmill has a 3.25 horsepower motor and a 10” Smart HD Touchscreen Display. The ProForm Pro 500 that you purchased, has a 3.5 horsepower motor and a 14” Smart HD Touchscreen Display. These are just a few noticeable differences between the treadmills. Some treadmills are designed to be sold for specific retailers which is why you may not see the same items on the ProForm website.

They are tricking you into a subscription

I am generally happy with the treadmill itself, it has good incline -3/+12 and good speed, decent width and length. But the software is what makes me want to send it back and even ask for compensation for my troubles!
First, it made me slightly frustrated that there are no preset workout profiles (e.g. interval training, hills, cardio, etc.) and you can only create those through the website and not on the treadmill itself. Sure, the prerecorded video trainings are fun, for a while, but you cannot just step on the belt and set a 45 mins running workout. Ridiculous for a machine in this/any price range.
What I really find outrageous is that when the trial subscription ends you no longer have access to even the workouts that you yourself created on line! They practically block you from using the machine you paid a ton of money for! All you can do is start and stop a workout, and adjust speed/incline on the fly. This is outrageous!
DO NOT BUY!

Sorry that you feel obligated for iFIT membership on this machine. We do not intend to require iFIT to use this machine’s quality features. Manual mode is indeed fully accessible without membership. Many of our machines have on boarded workouts available without a membership.
Without a membership, you may also bypass the login screen and enter the library to access a few select classes to use that are unlocked for free to users without membership.

Got this treadmill on good deal and it works really well. The iFIT is not great, it can be slow at times but it definitely provides a good partner who keeps entertaining throughout the workout. I have not decided if I will continue to pay for iFIT, but likely not.

We’ve had the treadmill for a couple of weeks. We bought it at the beginning of August 2021, but the first one they delivered was defective- the treadmill base would run into the handle on one side when you tried to raise it up. The employees who delivered it said they delivered another one recently with the same problem. We had it returned and we’re able to get the replacement mid-August, and we really like it so far. It has a few quirks with occasional WiFi/update issues, but otherwise it’s been a good purchase so far.

Nice treadmill. So far very happy with it. Although the geek squad delivery never happened. I had to wait all day to be told that the appointment needed to be moved after Christmas. I went and picked it up at the store and installed it myself. The initial free iFIT time that comes with it also never happened. BestBuy or whoever never sent me the code I needed to activate. Tried to trouble shoot by text with geek squad who said they would send the code but they never did. I had to just sign up and pay for the iFIT family membership directly. If not for these problems i would have given it a 5. The machine itself is great and the iFit content is great. I usually have a good experience with geek squad so this was a disappointment.

The treadmill operates very well but having to work around the iFit program every time you use it is very frustrating. You should be able to bypass iFit once and not see it again unless you want to join.

Absolutely love my treadmill. Easy to use and you do not need to subscribe to iFit. You do have the option to do manual start without the subscription. The setup was probably the hardest and you will need two people to get it assembled. When installing the control panel to the treadmill, the pre-drilled holes were way to small for screws that were provided. We carefully drilled the holes to fit the screws provided and all went together nicely. Overall excellent treadmill and very happy with our purchase!
