Good value for a runner
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to get a treadmill for my garage gym and after some research decided on the Pro-Form Pro 5000. I liked it because it had a bit of decline available along with a motor that could handle regular runs and walks. All the treadmills I looked at have either iFit or JRNY (Bowflex), which I was familiar with, but wasn't sure I cared about. Best Buy delivered this on time and with abundant communication about when it would arrive. I did not pay for installation, opting to put it together with the help of my lovely wife who was better at getting some parts to go together than I was. It did take about 2-3 hours because some bolts were a bit tricky to get to. Putting on the first wheel required us to lift it off the grond slightly (we slipped a piece of wood under the main legs). The Best Buy product description said it came with a 30 day iFit trial. However, the activation card in the package said, "1-year iFit Coach Membership". After going through the registration and entering the Activation Code, I noticed in the iFit app it would expire in 30 days, not one year. I emailed two different addresses and only received an automated response from one. A week later I tried calling. After about 33 minutes on hold, I got a live person who within about 2 minutes changed my trial to 1 year. This may not be the case with all of these treadmills. As I mentioned though, I wasn't sure I cared about iFit. My plan was to watch sports or movies on the TV I already have in my garage. But after trying some of the running and walking workouts and even a strength session or two, I'm really enjoying iFit. Maybe it is the novelty or newness, but I'm really glad I have a year to check it out more. To address some of the other negative comments. Yes, the build-in fan is small and would not be effective if your workout gets you sweaty or it is warm where you have it. I put a box fan on the ground in front of me and may mount another fan up high come spring/summer. The tablet screen is not able to have Netflix or other apps on it. I prefer a TV out in front for that stuff anyway. The speakers seem sufficient to me, but I mostly use my bluetooth headphones anyway. Some said the screen is not good or their videos are low quality. I think the screen is quite nice and the videos are of great quality. I would bet the video quailty reflects the speed or quality of your internet connection and/or modem. The iFit trainers are fun, informed on both workouts and the area they are telling you about. I'm also impressed at how well the camera person does at showing the trainer and the scenery, etc. It is cool to have the incline go up and down when the terrain where the trainer is does the same. The incline really isn't fast enough to go up to 4% just for 3 or 4 stair steps, but it tries and then goes back down.

Great treadmill for the family
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like that the treadmill functions as expected and in certain aspects exceeds that expectation. I use it every day and so does my girlfriend and my brother in law. I dislike that the treadmill is difficult to install, though that might be the problem with most treadmills to be fair.

Good treadmill…..but not worth the price.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The machine works well and has a lot of different features. The built in miniature fan and Bluetooth speakers are a nice touch. One downside is that the right cup holder was badly damaged with holes in it and the console has a crack above the screen. Well, as long as the motor works, I guess…

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that your treadmill works well and that you like the fan and speakers, although we are very sorry your cup holder was badly damaged and your console has a crack above the screen. It is very uncommon to receive a unit in this form and we would like to make this right to you.
Please contact us directly at: ce@ProForm.com with the personal case ID number: 1-R100794 so we can take a closer look into this and have new parts shipped to you as soon as possible.

Strong and sturdy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great treadmill. Its strong, sturdy, and was easy to put together. You do need a person for a couple of things one being lifting, but other than that, i put it together myself. I love the iFit program built in, you dont have to use if you dont want just click on the manual start on top right. I actually love using ifit. It helps me engage with trainers the places they are at and keeps me wanting to do again every day. Good choice!

Please Look Elsewhere
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't feel the need to write reviews ever but feel compelled in this situation. Since day one we have had constant issues and have not been without some type of issue at any point in time greater than a few days. It started with a click upon each belt cycle, has altogether stopped working at one time and that leads to our current issue of a frayed belt. We have received a replacement drive roller/pulley, drive motor, storage latch, cushion, motor belt and walking belt this far. It takes on the low end 30 minutes being on hold to reach their customer support and regularly bleeds well past an hour. There are times where disconnection happens, without a call back and that is after the extensive wait time mentioned. We have had a technician out three times thus far to work on the unit and they are not able to diagnose the issue or, once gone, a new issue appears within days. We are currently waiting for the fourth visit with a non functioning machine. For this last service call we were provided with a one month wait time until they were available. With our early April purchase date I am growing worried we will easily surpass out warranty and be left with a non-functioning machine which was purchased brand new. At this stage all I want is a replacement which works, however they will only offer replacement parts coupled with long gaps to service technician arrival. I strongly encourage any prospective buyer to look toward a product and company who values your hard earned dollars and respects time you are not able to get back, rather than a non-chalant deflection until the warranty period is surpassed.

iFIT negative issue.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Proform Treadmill is wonderful, concern was the iFIT. You need to pay for iFIT membership. There was a free one-year membership, but you need to add a credit card before getting the free membership.

Q: Questioncan you use this without the iFit subscription?
Asked by radiographer1.
- A:Answer Yes. It's important to note that the length of time from turning the machine on to getting to the manual mode is long. It also asks you to sign into your iFit account each time, further lengthening the process to get to the manual mode.

Q: QuestionWhat year model is this? I am getting a bit confused with the pro5000 and smart pro 5000. Also is this model being advertised an upgrade to the pro 2000?
Asked by mike560.
- A:Answer mike560 We manufacture many makes and models of treadmills every year. They each have similarities and differences. This model of the Pro 5000 is a 2020. The Pro 2000 is also from 2020. We believe the Smart Pro 5000 you are referencing is from 2016. No matter the year they were first released, each piece of equipment has a warranty and is designed for optimum use. The biggest difference between these models is the console. The Smart Pro 5000 does not have a touchscreen. Instead, it features buttons and a back-lit digital display along with an attached tablet with touchscreen for iFIT syncopation. The Pro 2000 and Pro 5000 have integrated touchscreens. The Pro 5000 has a larger screen. The equipment for these models are roughly identical in size and capabilities. Let us know if we can give you more information by emailing us at [email protected]. Q: QuestionHow tall is the running deck from the floor? I have very low basement ceilings so am trying to find a treadmill where the running deck is lower to the ground.
Asked by Krystal.
- A:Answer The top of the decks are approximately 1 foot from the ground. Ceilings should be of 8 feet to have the incline at its highest level.

Q: QuestionI see from some answers to questions that there is an optional tablet holder. I've googled it and can't find where to buy. Alternately, I can buy a generic one but I need to know how thick the screen is to know if this one from amazon will fit. Help?!
Asked by poohbear.
- A:Answer poohbear The width of the top of the console on this machine is 2.5 cm. It measures 3 cm in the center, where an additional thickness is present. If you talk with us directly through email, we can further assist you with options for a tablet holder. Emails us at [email protected]. Thanks -ProForm

Q: QuestionIs 110V 20A breaker enough for this machine? I'm calculating 3.5HP to draw about 2,610W which would go over 20A? So, 20A breaker would trip if running the machine at peak, correct? Sorry, not an electrician but trying to make sense of the power required.
Asked by rio79.
- A:Answer Rio79 Thank you for your interest in our Pro 5000 Treadmill. It is recommended that the outlet being used for this unit is on a nominal 120-volt circuit capable of carrying 15 or more amps. We hope this helps!
