I have been using Quicken now seems like forever, so I am familiar with it. I am not a fan of the new subscription service and purchased this as it was less expensive than to renew. So I am happy about that.

Like others, I used the code to extend my expiring subscription for a year. Buying the physical version when Best Buy or other retailers have it on sale is the only way to get a discount on an annual renewal. It's terribly inefficient, but I'll take it.

    Reliable Money Management Tool

I have used Quicken Deluxe for many years for managing investment and banking accounts on my home pc. There are online tools such as Personal Capital, but I prefer to keep my finances in house. This is not an easy program to master for someone starting out fresh with no prior financial management software experience. I only use the stock and mutual fund price downloads each financial day, and do not use the many online account management tools. I do not enter account number information for security control reasons in case someone breaks into my desktop pc. The programmers are trying to serve the mobile device market, and people managing their accounts online. This is not for me. I only recommend the product to the experienced and to those folks wanting to do everything with their mobile devices. Allow a year at least if you plan to jump in and gain experience.

I have used Quicken since they started making it for Macs. It used to last for 3 years before you had to purchase another one. Then two years ago, Quicken jumped on the bandwagon and now we have to buy a new version annually or it stops working. Fortunately Best Buy has it for a lot less than Quicken. I will continue to buy it annually from Best Buy. I like the program but it did take a while to get used to the new version.

I've been a quicken user for about 25 years and this was an update from my Quicken 2012 version. It does pretty much everything my old version did with a few added bells and whistles like auto banking, bill paying, etc., which I will not use. It does update my investment portfolio. Transition from the old version to the new went flawlessly. Special mention needs to be made that one's old Quicken files will be reformatted to run on the new version. My understanding is that eventually, older files will not be reformattable to run on the new version, which was my incentive to update. The new version has a new look that takes a little bit of getting used to, but nothing troubling. I don't like the fact that it, like so many other programs, have gone to subscription, but that will make Quicken a ton of money off guys like me who used to update once a decade.

It's a bit annoying Quicken has moved to a one-year licensing model for updating their banking services, if it were not so convenient, I might not do it. Software is essentially the same as last year, minor updates

Great (but pricy) software for managing finances

Great (but not perfect) software that I have been using to manage my complex finances and many accounts for close to 30 years now. It seems to be getting better now that there is a subscription model to fund product improvements, however, that pricing is the main drawback and disadvantage, which has made it very costly to continue using this software. Have to buy the renewal on sale each year, and even then it is still really way too high of an annual fee (minus 1-2 stars due to the pricing alone).

I have been running Quicken 2011 since, well, 2011 and had several versions before that. I stopped upgrading as the reviews on many of the later versions weren't favorable, having many bugs and gratuitous changes to the UI. I'm also not a fan of the transition to a subscription model although I would have paid a yearly fee just to stay on a version that I was comfortable with. When Best Buy had a recent sale on Quicken I decided to buy it and see for myself. I loaded it on my laptop while keeping 2011 on my desktop. My plan was to keep them both in sync and see how things worked out. The conversion didn't go w/o issues and I spent a great deal of time trying to make the ending balances the same. Some splits were messed up and there were other errors in the conversion. The changes to budgeting and the resulting reports were also off and are cumbersome to update, something I have seen reported on many versions prior to this one. I could never quite get the same results as with 2011. After straightening out the accounts, I set up a download of one Citi credit card account. The link to Citi went fine but the initial download was of 90 days of transactions which duplicated over two months of entries I'd already made. There is apparently no way to select and "unaccept" these transactions except to delete each one individually before accepting the rest or accept them all and then delete the dups from the register. Quicken did not recognize the downloaded transactions as duplicates since the existing data did not have transaction IDs. I don't blame the product for that, but I should have been able to easily delete all of those (over 30) before accepting the valid ones. Since I have several credit cards, this was going to be a major waste of time. I never got around to setting up the importing of my investment accounts, having already decided that it was just taking too much time to correct the registers. Also, the only useful functionality over what I already had in Q2011 was the ability to download directly and to update stock prices as desired. I would have paid Quicken every three years just to continue using 2011's WebConnect. I've now uninstalled this version and gone back to Q2011. I would rather trade stability and a familiar interface for the ability to download transactions. I also found a program, ImportQIF, which I have used for years to import financial transactions. If you are a new user then the latest Quicken may work well for you. It may also do a better job in conversion and downloading if your current version is newer than my Q2011.

As a long time Quicken user, I hated when they went to a subscription, but it still keeps me on top of my finances. They are making it harder for existing users to get a break on subscriptions, but buying retail versions when they are on sale is still cheaper than getting digital subscriptions.

I purchased this to update my 2017 Quicken. It's a great financial program. The only down side is they have jumped on the subscription bandwagon so I'm not sure what happen after the year is up.

I use it for the Mac. This is a simplistic version of the Quicken management system. I have used this version (updated yearly) for 10 years+. It is reliable and is reliable. Never a "crash". The few questions I have had were answered by Quicken via telephone. The price is even better when you get a coupon (or two!). Because of the updates, it has to be purchased yearly. It is also available online if you don't want to purchase the CD, but I do because of the coupons.

I'm happy there is still a desktop version of check book/financial software. Others can have the online apps, etc as I don't trust them. I hope Quicken desktop version is around for a long, long time. I've been a long time user of Quicken. Even though I purchased this copy of Quicken on November 27, 2020, I didn't install/activate it until January 1, 2021. Easy to use. I've been using Quicken since the 1990's. Without Quicken, I'm lost.

Love the product. I always bought new each year but somehow it bothers me that I now have to get an annual license. Product would be excellent if it was still up to you to decide when you want to renew. Lots of great features and fairly easy to use

I shop around for Quicken Deluxe these days since they have gone to a subscription based model. Every once in a while you can find it on sale at a reasonable price, which I did at Best Buy.

A program that allows you to download your bank transactions and stock prices with just a click. Once set up with your information and you itemize transactions as they occur it tracks them for tax purposes. At end of each month, once your download is complete, your reconcile is a snap. I don't utilize the investments portion as much, but all in all a great way to get a total picture of your net worth and debts.
