Great way to have fun brushing with my my young daughter. Enough of a mechanical tooth brush to help her clean but not too much to where it is too strong for a kiddos mouth.

We bought it for our 1 year old. We don't really use the app features, but she much prefers this over the manual toothbrush.

It is hard enough to get your kid to maintain a good brushing habit, so any help you can get to instill that routine helps. Having used the adult version, I knew it was a great product and I decided to try it with my daughter. What I like about these devices are first and foremost the price point. For the quality of the product and for how well if cleans the price for the brush and replacements are very reasonable. Plus is cleans really well. Just like the major brands, this one has the two minute timer that vibrates each 30 seconds. But unlike many other brands this brush has Bluetooth. With that, it connects to a Quip app and you can track your kid’s brushing habits if that is what you are in to. Better than that, as the child makes progress you can actually get discounts on products. Win win. The brush itself is soft bristled and the outside bristles circling the main body of the brush are silicone and super soft. I imagine for gum stimulation. It has a sleeve that acts as a cover for travel and what not. The case/sleeve also has a backing on it that sticks to the mirror or any other flat non-porous surface so you can store the brush in an upright standing position. I have not worked with the app yet, but in the reviews I have read it is pretty decent and easy to use. Bottom line for me is that you are building good habits for your children and if your three year old throws it in the toilet accidentally you don’t get mad because you spend $100 plus dollars. The price is right and it is every bit as good as the adult version of the brush line. I recommend it to anyone that wants to build good oral hygiene habits with their children.

    It's an ok toothbrush

So the toothbrush itself works pretty well. It is a good size for my daughter’s mouth and the 2 min. timer is split up into 4 parts with a pretty distinct and relatively long pause when you compare to an adult’s toothbrush. This is nice because she never misses the signal and it gives her time to move to the next part of her mouth with it off so that if she opens her mouth a little bit it doesn’t splatter as much toothpaste all over her mirror. It also runs on standard batteries. This may not be as economically friendly, but it makes it easier to store away since you don’t need to worry about having space next to a plug, and if you’re traveling and need to change a battery you don’t have any issues, where if you forgot to bring your charger on vacation you could just have a manual toothbrush with a rechargeable type. I can’t really review the smart functions because I could never get it to work. I got the app downloaded to both my wife and my phones but every time I try to sink it says its attached but it needs a firmware update first. It seems to be updating ok, but after a min or so it gives me an error logs out and won’t show the toothbrush in the app. This has been going on for almost a week now and no success, so now we basically have a non-smart brush. They also try very hard for you to join their subscription program to replace your head and battery. The pricing is high, but not outrageous. Overall its an ok brush, but if they’re advertising it’s a smart toothbrush, you really need to make sure that part works.

    A Great Kids Electric Toothbrush!

My five-year-old son is good about brushing his teeth every morning and night, but he does not do it thoroughly enough and long enough. I didn’t want to get him the cheap disposable electric toothbrushes either. I’ve gone that route with his older siblings, and it seemed wasteful since you can’t replace the toothbrush heads and have to throw away the entire unit every three months or so. I was intrigued with this Quip kids electric toothbrush because you can replace the heads and it has a nice rubber grip compared to the usual slippery plastic on most electric toothbrushes. I’ve observed my son using it and he really, really likes it. I coached him on listening and feeling for the stuttering effect that happens every 30 seconds, and to not move to the next section of his mouth until it happens. He brushes his teeth at least the minimum 2 minutes now, usually a bit more. I like that the bristles of the toothbrush are just right—not too hard and not too soft. It’s easy for my son to push the embedded button to turn it on and off (but not so easy that it could be accidentally done). It comes complete with the toothbrush, AAA battery (preferable to wires or having to make sure a rechargeable battery is charged up), a nice matching case which you can mount on a tiled or mirrored surface to slide the toothbrush in every day, or use as a cover when traveling. Very convenient. There is an app you can download that monitors brushing routines, but I wasn’t interested in it because honestly, I tried it with my own electric toothbrush that has the same feature, and I tired of it easily. I just didn’t feel it was necessary for us, but it is a nice feature if you want to take advantage of it. There is a nice perk that is included—an offer for a subscription refill plan (I know, I know, not another subscription; but trust me, this is good). It’s a refill plan to receive a new brush head and AAA battery every three months (which is when you’re supposed to change your toothbrush). If you subscribe, the first refill is free AND you get a lifetime warranty, and the cost is only $5 every three months (no added fees, no shipping costs, nothing more). $1.67 per month is a great deal! Highly recommend!
