This toothbrush is perfect for my 3 year old and she loves it! She feels like a big girl brushing with this and gets excited every morning and evening when it’s time to brush. The head of the toothbrush is a great size for a child’s mouth so thats great!

My grandchild did not care for it

This feedback comes from the perspective of a six-year-old child who has used a programmable toothbrush for quite some time now. I thought it would be a good idea to try something new and compare it, plus I liked having a spare toothbrush in case he forgot to pack his. The bottom line is that he did not care for it as much as for his current "smart" toothbrush. He said it did not feel as comfortable. I thought the bristles were a little too "rubbery" for my taste. He also said the vibration was much more "ticklish" than his other brush. I see the value of a "subscription" toothbrush in the discipline that it instills - you pay for replacement head so you might as well use it -as well as the advanced features of the app (timing, tracking, rewards program, ordering, etc.) But you can always replace a child's toothbrush with something that follows their age and likes, which change much faster than an adult's, so I do not think that there is great value for subscribing to a child's toothbrush plan. Keep in mind that the Quip website says their app "is designed for ages 13+" - I would prefer to get kids into good brushing habits at a far earlier age. And Quip is not a cheap habit, so the Total Cost of Ownership of this product really adds up. This is something to take into consideration when choosing a smart toothbrush for your child. One advantage of this option is that you can try it at a cost of entry lower than others in the smart toothbrush market, so if it is not for your child, you have not invested in an expensive paperweight.

These are good for kids being introduced to the electric side of things. Kids may like the timer which eases the mind of “oh I got brush” complaints. Also it might help with those that have a habit of biting because when you think of electric you think of not getting buzzed. Fun color but the battery you may have to change more often, after a month. For kids it’s good but for adults, it would be my traveling toothbrush.

    Waste of money

Not worth $5. Seriously, Quip brushes are a total waste of money. The only saving grace is the gimmick may get kids to brush. My grandson was given one for his birthday and after I watched him use it I promptly ordered him a much better brush. Spend your money on Oral-B or Sonicare.

Have to pay for refills so unless you plan on using this for a long time it may not be worth it.
