It's almost like The Godfather: If you're going to buy Part 1 and Part 2, you might as well get Part 3. But you probably shouldn't bother watching it.

The weakest installment of the original Rambo trilogy. Action was good.

I just bought this Rambo 3 which is my favorite with First Blood of course.
I was never into Rambo 2, it had it's good moments but the action wasn't so great. I got the DVD version of this movie and now when I look at it it's so crappppy. The new Blu-Ray version has more color too it, more alive if anything.
For any Rambo fan I would suggest buying this blu-ray movie, but for best quality you still need 1080P Tv and really good expensive HDMI cable like Monster company.
I got mine 4ft for $80 but it was worth it, you get what you payed for, quality.

The first two Rambo films were exceptionally good, this third film in the series was not, but at least it's not as bad as the most recent addition. Considering you can find the Lions Gate Ultimate dvd version for $5 just about everywhere, I can't necessarily recommend spending $25 on this one.

Altered subtitles!?

This Rambo III dvd has translation subtitles appear on it that did not appear in the original theatrical release... almost as though they decided to add in more of what the Russians were saying so it would make more sense to the viewer. The 2002 special edition had a few problems with the translation subtitles also, therefore, if you want the film exactly as it appeared in theaters you will need to buy the now out-of-print 1998 dvd version. Actually, I would just skip 'Rambo III' altogether as it wasn't nearly in the same league as the first two pictures.
