With the release of this title, the Ratchet & Clank franchise has established itself as THE modern platformer. Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time provides the player with a perfect mix of platforming, 3rd-person shooter, and even RPG elements. Ratchet & Clank, who are apart for much of the game, battle through several beautiful planets across several sectors of a galaxy. With the ability to go through challenge mode and bonus items scattered throughout the galaxy, this game gives players lots of replay value even after winning the final boss battle. To add to the awesomeness are graphics and sound effects comparable to those of a movie. To those who have played previous Ratchet & Clank titles, the formula is the same here in A Crack in Time, but why would Insomniac want to alter a winning formula? It's like telling the Philadelphia Phillies to stop hitting so well because it's getting old. Simply put, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time is a masterpiece. Anyone new to the series should check out this game, and all of the duo's long time fans will absolutely adore this latest addition.

Ok so alot of people complain that this is more of the same. if you are a R&C fan you expect a specific art style and game play. This game keeps that While, adding small adjustments to the graphics and tweaking the weapons as always. The space play was a massive improvement from the previous 2 games, and a welcomed change. overall this is a solid piece of entertainment. If you are looking for a funny action packed game this should definitely be on your short list.

I admit I was late in getting to this game but it was well worth it! Phenomenal Graphics, Gameplay, Story, Challenges, Characters, this game has it all!! It has high replay value and is safe for the kids to watch and play. For my trophy hunters, this game is a Medium challenge platinum but is well worth it as provides ample fun play throughs, especially the Clank Time Pad Challenges and the Ratchet Raritanium Arena.

Great Game, loads of fun, i have not put it down. great story line, fun game play, humor. amazing Graphics. and the rendering of the faces spot on. and my favorit the grind rail 'levels' are there i like that you can change your difficulty on the fly. I do have issues with the diffrence in easy (casual) and medium difficulty. there was also a bit of repetness of the comments from your 'compainon'. after the same comment for the 30th time in an hour...

I've always loved Ratchet & Clank. I just started playing A Crack in Time, so I'm not sure about the length of this game. I hope that you get to start over with all your weapons upgraded like the others though. That was a really cool feature. I do like that you get to choose your difficulty level in this one. They never had that option before, so it makes the game more challenging for sure. The graphics are awesome, but geared toward the kids like a carton. It's cute & funny for all ages. My fiance, who is 49 & a tough critic, even laughs at the things they say & enjoys the game! What I love most about Ratchet & Clank is that it's a nice, light, good old fashioned fun game that has many side adventures and things like that and keep you interested so that you're never bored. However, if you are looking for something more intricate and/or dark as far as the feel of the game goes, then this isn't a game for you. Hope that helps! Xoxox.......

I have enjoyed the series from ps2 days and with the hd upgrade it is beautiful to look at. Lots of fun with the insane weapons and new time control features in the gameplay. Liked some of the weapons in TOD better than this game and also wish it was a little longer, but this has always been a blast to play!!

Ratchet and Clank is a beloved series on the PS2 and PS3 and the Future games are totally awesome. My daughter and I love the series!

As with about all Ratchet and Clank games, this one is a keeper. The new customizable weapons are fun. The puzzles are challenging. If you love the previous games this is a must.

I purchased this game a while back and was so pleased. The gameplay is so fun! The gun selection is dope!! its what makes it great. The story line so easy to follow and its entertaining and funny. This is a great fantasy game.

Received this game free as part of a bundle when I purchased a Sony XBR8 TV. Didn't get a vote in the choice of game (nor in the movie that came with the bundle (reviewed separately)), but in the case of the game, this has been a fun game, and multiple family members have enjoyed playing it. Not too juvenile for the adults, and not too complex for the younger ones. Good game all the way around. The Playstation3 platform needs a few more games like this one to round out their current offerings. The graphics are outstanding!

Ratchet & Clank is a pretty good game specially this version of the series, I was surprised how addicted I became when playing. I enjoyed the fact that you can customize "some" of your weapons as far as the barrel, clip, color, etc. I do also like the fact on how your able to upgrade your weapons and armor depending on how much you use them. Theres about 20 or so different types of weapons such as pistol, bombs, snipers, rockets and so forth. The armor/outfits that you can buy throughout the game are also pretty cool looking. The game does take sometime to finish if you do all the side missions. The only bad thing I would say (since no game is perfect) about this games is that its a bit too cartoonish, but its ok since the everything makes up for it. So overall its a good to purchase since its a good change of pace from all of the other games out there.

Let me start off by saying that this is the first entry I have played in the Ratchet and Clank series. This game is basically a third person shooter with an insane collection of weapons. Graphics: The game is far from looking real, but it isn't really going for that at all. It is a cartoon, and it recognizes that. Since it isn't actually trying to look real they are able to add a lot of detail in to miniscule things like the way metal shines or the way water flows. Story: I imagine the story would have been better if I have played ay Ratchet and Clank games previously, but it was still pretty good. Ratchet and Clank end up getting seperated, and Rachet must risk life and limb to save his old buddy. Clank ends up going on his own adventure, but instead of having a huge arsenal of weapons to choose from, like Ratchet, he instead has a simple melee weapon with the ability to control time. Gameplay: Personally, I didn't like playing as Clank nearly as much as I enjoyed playing as Ratchet. As Ratchet, you get the same thing previous installments of RAC have given you, a fast-paced third person shooter. When you play as Clank, you deal with very few enemies and a focus is put more on puzzle solving while using his time control abilities. The puzzles you play as Clank are not that hard, but it can be depending on the age of the player. It involves going through a certain level muliple times, each time turning on a different switch as your "ghost" turns on the switches you used in your previous run throughs. So you will have a "ghost" Clank hit a switch, that will allow you to access another switch, and then in your next run-through, both ghost will open the switches to allow you to finish the level. As I said though, playing as Ratchet is much much more fun, and is the bulk of the game. Its your basic third-person shooter with a WHOLE LOT of weapons to choose from. Using a weapon more often will also upgrade it so it become more powerful and shoots faster. There are many different types of enemies and the ammo you recieve in crates and from killed enemies vary, so it forces you to use different weapons based on what the circumstances call for. Certain enemies can be a real hassell when you don't have the gun (or ammo) needed to exploit his weakness, but for the most part the game isn't that hard. My favorite weapon would have to be the "razor gun" which just shoots a ton of razors at the enemy. It is deceptive at first, since it is terrible when it is only at level one, but easily becomes the most useful weapon later when it is fully upgraded.

All fans of Ratchet and Clank will most likely like this game. It unveals an interesting connection to the rest of the Ratchet and Clank Future saga. Ratchet discovers truth that he is not the last lombax living, and also endures on his quest to save his best friend, Clank. With the help of new friends and gadgets, such as the hoverboots, Ratchet soars with faster speed. And along with a whole new arsenal of weaponary, with much upgrades and customizing, Ratchet has a new way to explore and destroy enemies. The only question is: "Are you ready?"

I feel there is a challenge in the game just right for gamers. One of the amazing features is the flawless switching between playing with Ratchet and playing with Clank. Also I like that you can earn bolts to buy new weapons on the Grommelnet. I love using the Groovitron gloves while I beat them senceless with my big ol' wrench.

This game is a good game, but it is not as good as the previous one, it has some good graphics and weapons, but the story and puzzles just don't get me as well as its predecessor. I'm not saying that it is a bad game, in fact its one of the best in my collection, the new element of being able to fly the ship to new planets is fun and... well, new.

This by far the best rachet game i have ever played. I like better than tools of destruction and thats saying a lot because i loved TOD. The only thing is that i wish there was some type of multiplayer with this game to add to the longevity of it. But other than that its a great game.

I've been a big fan of the francise. I have to say they never let you down. This is one of the best games to play out of the francise. Pick it up.

I bought this game for my son and realized that we both like it and enjoy playing it. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who has kids that enjoy the Lego Star Wars and/or Lego Batman as this game also allows for parents to play and enjoy the game.

game is great just to start off with does not matter how old you feel like a lil kid again playing this you get a better understanding of the past with the game
