Clear and Sharp
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gaming is a way of life for a lot of us. Whether it’s to entertain an audience during a broadcast, hopping online with some friends to unwind from a long day or just to immerse yourself into a rich story. No matter what your gaming motivation is, the sound of said game is important to any experience. Razer’s Blackshark V2 headset delivers some great sound for your gaming world. Comfort: The Blackshark is probably the most comfortable gaming headset that I’ve ever worn. And that’s saying a lot since I’ve owned several headsets since 2013. It’s a low profile aviator design fit with breathable ear cups which is important for those long gaming sessions. I didn’t feel any overwhelming heat or sweat from wearing them during my sessions that last for several hours. For an incredibly lightweight headset, I am amazed at how they can cup my ears firmly without becoming irritating after an hour. You might even forget that you’re wearing them. It happened to me twice already. The volume is a direct access dial that’s located on the right ear cup. It’s easy to adjust and you’ll feel a ‘click’ when you’ve dialed to the halfway mark. Just behind the volume dial is the mic mute button which is easy to use. I can appreciate the location of these two features since your fingers know exactly where to go rather than fumbling for the mute slider that’s on a cord that we’ve seen with other headsets. Sound: The Blackshark V2 has A LOT of options for you to experiment with regarding the sort of audio experience you are looking for. However, I have to inform you, all of these sound options are meant for PC players only. That’s not to say that you cannot use the Blackshark for your PS4, Xbox One, or Switch. Instead of using the built-in USB soundcard, you can plug the headset via the 3.5mm audio jack directly into the Switch, PS4, or Xbox One controller/handheld. That’s not to say that your audio experiences with the Blackshark are going to be horrible, it’s just that with the consoles, you cannot fine-tune the type of audio you are seeking. The PC audio options via the Razer Synapse app are PLENTY: Mic Volume Mic Boost Mic Sensitivity THX Spatial Audio Equalizer And that’s just to name a few of the customization options for the PC gamer. And even if you’re using this headset for your console, the sound is insanely sharp and clear. For me, the sounds are distinctive. Footsteps aren’t overridden by other audio cues in games like Call of Duty Warzone and Apex Legends where you NEED to be aware of your audio surroundings. For the gamers that are looking for a deep and pronounced bass sound, then you’ll find that the Blackshark does not offer that sound experience. Even after I experimented with the calibrations, there was no ‘booming’ bass sound. I’m assuming that this was done so as not to conflict with the other sounds that I mentioned before. I played Apex Legends on my PC and then played Ghost of Tsushima on my PS4. Both games have different uses for sound but both were astounding to hear. From the gunfire approaching closer to my location in Apex Legends to the sounds of wind and thunder in Ghost of Tsushima, I felt like I was in those moments. Unfortunately, there’s no vocal feedback when using the headset on consoles. This means that you can’t hear yourself and will be talking at a louder tone to your online team or friends unless you pull one of the ear cups slightly off your ear. If you’re anything like me, you tend to use your gaming headset for other things such as watching movies. Just like the gaming sound, the sounds from the movies were clear, sharp, and distinct. A surround sound theater around your ears. The Blackshark distributes a clean and sharp audio experience for ALL gamers but offers customization for the PC gamer. If you’re looking for comfort, clean sound without being overwhelmed by multiple wires, and the weight of the headset, I believe you will be satisfied with the Blackshark V2.

Razer Blackshark
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love these!! So far so good!!! Great sound that you can adjust with the software. Others report they can hear me well and I dont even have to talk loud. I talk real low and they still can hear me amongst all the gunfire and chaos in the game. I like taht the mic is detachable too for better storage or if you just want to rock them for listening to music or movies. I like the volume control on the headset is a know for more precise colume control. Its a little big but it does its job. I like that the mute button is a button and not a switch. They are pretty comfortable but I have to find that sweet spot in the adjustments so it is not too tight or too loose. The mic monitoring is nice but you have to choose if you want to add gain and pic up mre background noise or someone talking in the background or if you want to cut that all out. I chose a wired headset because I feel it gives more consistancy and I dont have to worry about charging it. The cord can be cumbersome but thats a sacrifice im willing to take

Great Value for the Price
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had these headphones for a month now and I love them. They are a great overall pair for the $100 price range. Pros: Sound is great, the surround sound is really immersive. They are very comfortable, the ear pads are comfortable against my head and I can easily wear them for 6 hours at a time and not get any pressure pain or discomfort. The mic clarity is good. Cons: Not sure if I got a weird pair or if it's all of them, but the cord constantly wraps itself up. Almost like it is getting tangled on itself, which results in the cord being short. Every few days, I have to unplug them and unravel the cord (which doesn't take more than 20 seconds) and then plug them back in. The bass isn't spectacular in these headphones. It isn't bad, but it doesn't compare at all to other headphones I have had. You won't notice much normally but I listen to dubstep a lot and the sound is just ok for that heavy bass music. Overall I would definitely recommend. 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the two cons I listed. I feel like both of those could be made possible in $100 headphones.

Decent Gaming Headset with Some Flaws
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer BlackShark V2 Wired Gaming Headset offers a solid audio experience for various gaming platforms, making it a versatile choice. The sound quality is good, with clear mids and highs, although the bass can be a bit overpowering at times. The build quality is decent, but the ear cushions could be more comfortable for extended gaming sessions. The detachable microphone performs well, providing clear voice communication. While it's a good all-around option, it falls short of being exceptional, leaving room for improvement in terms of comfort and bass management.

Great headphones for price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really comfortable headphones, the cups are soft and hug your face. I can hardly hear anything around me when wearing these headphones. Only thing that is annoying is the software , you have to figure out the vocal clarity stuff and adjust the volume so you’re loud and not quiet in teamspeak and programs like discord. Other than that great headphones. Was worried about them being too bassy for games like Warzone but if you turn off THX audio you’ll be fine. I hear all the foot steps.

Great Value for Gaming and Meetings
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this is a very good headset with an extremely pleasant microphone. The microphone is likely the best of all the razed headsets. The sound becomes a bit lower in bass I believe but it makes it so there’s never anything overwhelming. Gunfire and footsteps in games is extremely easy to pick up on. The only issues would be how snug the headset may feel as it does get warm after long use. There is a bit of tampering to be done with sound card settings but overall really good. Sound card is a necessity for me because otherwise the noise cancelling bit of the headset makes it so that I can’t hear myself speaking.

A great headset for under $100.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great overall headset for a first pair. But for more experienced players with a higher demand for quality, keep looking. The bass and sound quality is not on a level of other headphones at or near the same price. I’ve also experienced low volume levels on consoles, but it is not an issue on pc. The microphone, however, is actually amazingly good. Very crisp sound, low background noise, and easy to turn on/off. If your looking for a decent headset below $100, these will do great. But if you need more and can spend more, definitely not your cup of tea.

Decent headset for the price point
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went from a Corsair wireless model to these. I liked having them wireless better, but the battery would no longer take a charge and the extra dongle was a pain (not Bluetooth). That and of course the static, pops and disconnects inherent with being wireless. What I worry about these is of course the wire fraying and breaking at some point. They do a much better job of noise dampening/canceling, but just don't sound as nice as the Corsair. They're not as loud, definitely not as bass-y. They distort when there's bass and you have things cranked up in the settings. That being said, they are way more comfortable. I don't regret getting them, good for the price point, but could use a little more oomph.

Sounds stinks (defective I think will return them)
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm giving them 3 stars just based off of other reviews. Me personally I'll be returning them on my PS5 there is little to no volume and ZERO bass. On my Series X they get a little bit louder but still no base. The volume knob is probably broke to because after halfway mark the volume is all the way off. So I'm essentially losing half my audio. Now on the positives these are HANDS DOWN the most comfortable set of headphones on the planet bar none. I like the simple look of them to and are super lightweight.

The Mic is the Deal Breaker
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headset isn't bad, per se; it's purely for gaming and communicating over said games-- however, my two complaints are the sound enhancements and the mic itself. The sound enhancements aren't user-friendly; unless you're familiar with audio equalizers, it'll be difficult to find the right settings for you. I personally like a lot of bass, especially when I'm listening to music; even with the bass boost, it feels muddy. I feel the earbuds that came with my Samsung provide a richer experience than these headphones, so this is disappointing. The deal-breaker for me is the mic. Because it's detachable, the audio input is very sensitive. One minute I'm talking on Discord and the next, it refuses to pick up me talking unless I fidget with the mic itself-- and if you pair that with the obnoxious noises that come with adjusting a mic? Needless to say, this expensive investment wasn't worth the investment for me. I plan on returning them and (hopefully) vie for an affordable and/or quality option.

Great sound and comfy
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones definitely block out the outside sound. I can barely hear my laptop fans on turbo mode with these headphones on. The headphones do have that ouf sound on the bass. You will have to play with Razer Synapse to get the best sound.

Not for Music
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Razer really let me down on these. Gaming-wise they sound ok and are very lightweight, BUT not for music. No matter how you adjust the settings in enhancements, THX, or equalizer the sound is awful. They made Disturbed sound like Brittney Spears, the normal bass hits are changed and sound tin canny. I would pass on these if you stream music.

An Almost Great Headset.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Razer hasn't been too hot with the audio department side of things. But they FINALLY listened to the fans, the comments and suggestions from the PC community and hands down provided with the Black shark V2. the only noticeable difference besides these and the V2 X is this one includes the USB dongle that inserts into the PC and opens more range to the sound via the Synapse software you download from them and the THX experience that is included with these versions. Great packaging too. It also comes with a storage bag to store the headset. I liked the the 3.5 mm jack mic that you plug and unplug from the headphones if you are taking them out in public or traveling. You cant disconnect the main jack from the headset at the bottom which is a bit disappointing. But nevertheless the buttons on the pair itself is pretty simple. just a dial for the volume and the mute/unmute button for the mic. The ear cups are retractable but a bit tricky to maneuver. The cups dont swivel much at all only up and down but it wasn't much of a problem for me in the way of comfort. The set seems durable enough. And i have to say, these are easily the most comfortable headset I have ever slid on my head. The ear cups are the really nice soft material EXACTLY like the ear cups on the Steel Series Arctic line except much softer in feel. They are very breathable with is a huge huge plus here. Also let me add that the headset is so light witch make is great for more then sitting behind the screen. The Sound, okay. This is an acquired taste for me. I had G633 Artemis's for years now so this was a definitely a leap in quality. The Logitech headset I had included both DTS and Dolby 7.1 surround in the software for the G products. These headphones were a tank, I usually used the Dolby sound personally but supposedly DTS X is better for fps games. Anyways, there was a bigger variety on my old headsets but they were horrid in size and comfort was subpar. These headphones are just fine for what they are and the price they are at, they did not mess around with the music listeners and focused more on the e sports focus. The THX Spatial Audio is a fine addition and huge improvement to the overall headphones. Very nice surround experience. The bass though I have to say was more prominent on my old headsets. The sound is an acquired taste for me because the 633s were.. Clearer with the music? There was way more tremble and bass balance in those. But the sound on these are just fine with music but what it does in fps is fantastic. I have been enjoying them heavily playing Valorant. It captures sounds and footsteps distinctly. Synapse is nice. In conclusion, its not perfect but definitely up there. Well Done Razer. Highly recommend!

Good for the value!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am currently using the Corsair Virtuosos as my everyday headset, but they are a little bit on the heavier side, and so I wanted to try something lighter that could maybe be my replacement headset. The BlackShark V2 provide good quality sound, but they did not match the quality of my current headset. However, the price difference is significant, and so I think that these BlackShark V2 are an entry level headset so you should expect some good sound but not the best headset sound. Design – 4/5 The headphones look good. They are stealth and that black with bright green touches looks phenomenal. The microphone built is not great. I wish they would have invested a little more on that mic design. You get these awesome looking headphones, but the mic looks a little outplace with the headphone design. Comfortableness – 5/5 Super comfortable. You can wear these all day long! Loudness (Bass) – 4/5 I was using the USB SoundCard and these can get loud! A little too loud sometimes. I found myself keeping the volume at around 70% just because it was too loud for me. If you like super loud sound, you won’t be disappointed. I wish there was more base. I played a lot of WarZone with these on and the sound was super crisp and personally I like some bass on my gameplay. I moved the bass all the way up on the Razer Synapse app, but the bass did not improve much. Hyperclear Microphone – 3/5 I recorded myself with OBS and heard my playback and personally I think the microphone was a bit too clear for my liking. I played around with the options in the Razer Synapse app, but I couldn’t really see a differences when changing the settings. The microphone was not my favorite part of this headset. USB CardSound/THX Spatial Audio – 5/5 The Razer Synapse app gave you different audio profiles, but I would recommend the THX spatial audio option for the best experience. It feels louder and provides a good balance. As someone who doesn’t really play around with the equalizer, the THX spatial audio was great for me. Multiplatform – 5/5 I only tried on a PC with the USB CardSound and had zero issues with connectivity. If your budget is $100 these are great gaming headphones! If your budget is over that, there are some great options out there.

Good for voice chat
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First and foremost the Razer Blackshark V2 has a "no nonsense" look and design, kind of like a helicopter pilot...but you're here to play games and communicate with your teammates, you're not trying to win a beauty contest. That being said, this is one of the most comfortable headsets that I have used. It is very light and does not put extended pressure on the head, which I was very pleased with. You can game to your heart's content without feeling discomfort that some headsets provide. The detachable mic provides crisp clear audio to your teammates, but with discord it came across as a bit quiet. Ican't really complain here, just need to adjust some settings and you're good to go. I would have preferred they used the retractable mic like in the kraken series, or a fold up boom. The downside to this headset is the audio quality. Having used it with and without the usb sound card, it just falls flat. There is no amount of adjusting sliders in the razer software to make the audio full and rich. The bass is too quiet and the treble is too soft for me, which having 50mm drivers it should be able to deliver a deep bass. I'd say it is decent for gaming audio, and really good for voice chat, but for music and videos it was horrible. I kept having a wierd audio fluctuation between speakers and increasing and decreasing volume. I don't know if that's due to the THX spatial sound or what, but I would definitely stick to just gaming with these. And at the $100 price point I would recommend the Logitech G Pro headset or spend a little more and get the Razer Kraken Ultimate.

Feel great, not quite loud enough.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ll preface my review with the fact that I used these on ps4. Your testing them on other consoles will likely have a different result. The headphones themselves look and feel great. I like that the volume knob and mute is on the actual headphone. I feel like the removable mic sounds excellent when using the usb connection and decent when plugged into the controller. I wish the mic was able to be tucked away or retracted kind of similar to my kraken headset. Since the 3.5” mic plug that goes into the headset has to be plugged in a certain way it gets tricky trying to get it right. The sound is clear and sounds excellent through usb and good enough through the controller. The major issue with these, to me, was that I couldn’t get enough volume on them. Even with everything maxed on ps4, headset and game the volume is just ok. The bass seemed kind of weak as well hearing some slight distortion when a deep bass note dropped. At the current price range of these, if you’re a ps4 player, you may be able to find something better if you’re looking for loud sounds and deep bass.
