Better sound & comfort than Razer Krakens
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is from the viewpoint of a middle-aged female casual gamer who mostly plays Fortnite and Fall Guys on PC. I'm no audiophile and mostly care about finding a gaming headset that will fit my fat head and not give me headaches. I've been using a Razer Kraken Tournament headset, but the band hurts the top of my rotund melon. Here is my Cliff's notes pros and cons list for those of you old enough to know what Cliff's notes are. Pros: + Ultra padded band + Soft earcups that swivel to match head shape + Removable microphone (not on Blackshark V2x) + Mic monitoring/sidetone feature in software + Clear sounds during gameplay + Lighter than Krakens (255g vs 340g approx.) Cons: - Annoying mic cover (removable though) - Sound adjustments require Razer's software - Stronger clamping force than Krakens Some YouTube reviews mention better sound without the sound card attached, but it's fine for my basic needs. I love that this headset/software offers the mic monitoring feature so I can hear how loudly I am talking, and it's crystal clear. I would use my Blue Yeti microphone for voiceovers in video editing, but the Blackshark's mic is sufficient for gaming comms. Most importantly, the lighter weight and ultra padded band on the Blacksharks allows me to wear them without immediately getting a headache. I still prefer speakers to headsets for my sensitive head, but the Blacksharks are the best I've tried for comfort...and I've tried SteelSeries, HyperX, and Logitech. For those wondering what the major difference is between the Blackshark V2 and V2X, this version has a stitched band, different material on the ear cups, sound card, detachable microphone, and slightly heavier weight. The detachable microphone and more luxurious headband are what sold me on the more expensive version. Although the mic is a bit annoying because it isn't retractable like on the Krakens, I plan to keep this Blackshark headset and use it instead of my Krakens due to improved sound and comfort. I did purchase Best Buy's protection plan since the flimsy side adjustments and exposed cord worry me about durability. Thus far, build quality appears excellent, and this old lady is pleased with Razer's latest headset. If you also have a fat head, give these a try!

Exactly what I was looking for.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lightweight. Simple. Good value when on sale. No fancy lights. Chord does t detach which will be lame whenever the wires decide to break. But the chords are braided so we’ll see down the road. Overall, very comfy, dynamic sound range, and sounds great through my MB’s sound card and XBOX controller. Mute button is simple. The detachable mic is a nice touch. The USB sound card is also a nice touch if you don’t have a good motherboard. Boxing was dope, came with stickers! And nice little bag to carry it around.

Nice Gaming Headset
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched sites on gaming headsets before purchasing these, the headset was mentioned and rated highly. The headset themselves are very light (although the picture looks heavy), with sturdy plastic ear cups and breathable fabric soft areas. Metal wire on the top ear cuff piece, braided fabric cord, and removable mic. The USB hub is nice if you want to use the headset without an audio port. Sound quality is AMAZING - the over-the-ear covering produces clear sounds.

For Xbox or console players
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of I just want to say that I’m am running this headset with an Xbox so I cannot use the included sound card. My auxiliary port on my Razer Kraken broke so this is why I bought the blackshark. I wanted something less bulky and lighter because I’ve had problems with long gaming sessions and my head feels like I have a helmet on after a while. The only con that is noticeable with the Blackshark V2 is the audio quality. The treble and mid are lacking while there is too much bass in situations where there should be little. The experience is comparable to my Steelseries headset. Otherwise, the headset is very comfortable and I love the volume control knob on the left side of the headset. The mic sounds exactly like my Kraken V2 pro’s and I’m looking forward to using it more!

Great budget gaming headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer Blackshark V2 headset... TLDR: best bang for the buck in this price range! Sound Quality: This is a closed-back headset and it does well to provide very accurate directional audio. Compared to my A40s, mids & highs are a bit less pronounced but still good enough to hear what you need to to play at a high level. If you play FPS games, you'll appreciate these headsets as footsteps and directions are very discernible. The addition of the Razer USB soundcard is also a nice addition to provide better audio quality compared to your standard 3.5mm outputs. One thing to note is the volume knob - it is in reverse from what i'm used to... Turning it counter clock-wise will go up in volume and clock-wise will lower the volume. Thought that was strange, but eventually i got used to it. This may not be an issue for others, so it's not worth docking any stars over but worth mentioning. Comfort: These headphones have some very comfy earpads. I have pretty big ears, and when gaming over a few hours, i don't experience any discomfort with my ears or my head from the headset. The inner ear pads have a thin layer that sits between your ears and the drivers, thus if your ears are big, there won't be any hard contact that would cause ear discomfort. One thing to note also is that these are very light as well, so this helps to alleviate any strain you may experience with other headsets with prolonged use. Form Factor & Build Quality: Since this is a budget gaming headset, this is an area where you can see some corners were cut. Each earcup is connected via two adjustment rods that move independently of each other. What this means is that when adjusting the headset, if you don't evenly apply pressure to lengthen/shorten the earcup, then it may be uneven (one rod may have more length than the other). This mechanism makes it certainly more tedious to adjust the headset, however once set you wouldn't have to repeat this process again so it's not a make or break factor. Outside of the earcups, the microphone is detachable and very good. Compared to my A40s, the microphone quality is on par, so that is a big plus! Razer also provides software to adjust mic & sound profiles as well, so don't forget to download it to adjust to your liking. The audio cable on the other hand is not detachable, so you will not be able to replace it if you need to (or detach it when you are putting it in your bag to travel). Overall, in this price range i would definitely recommend this headset.

Superb sound quality at a reasonable price!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer BlackShark V2 Gaming Headset offers great sound, features and comfort at a reasonable price. When unboxing the headset you're greeted with a fold up top that is usually a part of premium packaging so that was a nice touch. Inside of the inner cardboard tray you'll find the headset in a fleece like bag that includes the headset with attached USB sound card a detachable mic and the headset itself. The headset is adjustable on the sides by sliding the ear cups along the skinny black rails that hold them to the band it does feel a bit delicate. The top of the headset does offer a bit of cushion and does feel comfortable and so do the cushions on the ear cups. The detachable mic can only go in one way and it did sound loud and clear on my mic tests as well as voice chatting. The sound quality of the Razer BlackShark V2 did sound good for its price point thanks to the 50mm Titanium drivers and the included software that installs on your pc from the USB sound card adds a bunch of features like spatial surround sound that helps you hear directional footsteps as well as different equalizer settings to tune the sound to your liking. At first I thought the overall sound levels were low but it turns out that the volume adjuster on the side of the headset was turned about halfway down so when I raised it to the max the sound was much more immersive. The cups seal around your ears and give a decent amount of passive noise cancelation and the software included does also give your mic some noise cancelation to cancel out loud keyboards, clicks and background noise when you use your mic. The headset does feel light and never felt heavy on my head even after several hours of testing. Adding on to all of these features you have a 2 year warranty that instills a sense of reliability and making this a no brainer for me to recommend getting whether you game on PC, Console or Mobile.

Shocked Razer didn't botch the bass this time...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: -Bass doesn't sound like the other Razer headsets (they are too extreme, muddy, dull thud IMO). They did a good job on the bass this time. -THX Spatial makes a HUGE difference. The footsteps are WAY more pronounced and directional. I'm surprised they beat my Astro A50s for gaming. When I use the Astro A50 they sound more soft pronounced. -ANC is there but it's not really there, it's like a medium ANC without the sacrifice. -These are LIGHTER than I was expecting by a LOT. Very comfortable. -Mic sounds louder but not as crisp as my Astro A50s, but it's still clear -Feels more durable than I was expecting considering 2 adjustable wires on each ear. CONS (Compared to Astro A50, which isn't really fair since it's a $299 headset): -Music on this isn't bad, but it doesn't sound like a concert hall like sound where it just flows everywhere perfectly. -Movies on this isn't bad, but it's missing one of the sounds. Was watching a movie with swords and you hear the ringing more distinctly on the Astro A50s than the Razer Blackshark V2. I would prefer watching movies on the Astro A50s. -Really hard to adjust, need to probably break them in FINAL THOUGHTS: I am pretty sure these headsets are designed for eSports first with such an amazing pronounced sound for competitive games. They do an above average job on movies and music too and will definitely give the HyperX $99 a run for the money (I think these are actually better than the HyperX but I can't shake off that it doesn't sound like a concert hall for music). Overall I plan to use these as my main headphones for games and on the go, as $99 you can't go wrong. For music and movies I think I'll stick with the Astro A50s (although it's still good for movies and music, I'm just spoiled by the theater-like concert hall sound on the Astros). If you are looking for a gaming headset for competitive eSports, this is a no brainer. Again, for music and videos it's still amazing don't get me wrong, I'm just spoiled by the Astros A50.

Lightweight and comfy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent headset! It's very lightweight, doesn't hurt or get heavy after long gaming sessions, and the noise cancelling is reallyyy good. I have a large head and normally headsets are snug or uncomfortable, but this one fits so nicely. I've had all different types of headsets over the years, and this one is absolutely the most comfortable and lightweight. I highly recommend it.

Razer BlackShark V2 Review
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jumping from the Razer Kraken TE to this headset was a huge help for me gaming. Although the loss of the game/chat balance annoyed me at first, it wasn't really that big of an issue. And the volume dial on the earcup is very smart. You won't accidentally lower your volume unlike the one the Kraken had. The clamping force this headset has is more than what the Kraken offers. Extremely light and comfy. Plus the great sound and microphone quality.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Actually very nice and comfy. Easy to use and what i wanted out of a headset. Also quite loud and very good bass. Not the greatest headset money can buy but one the best wireless headsets i have gotten. Also it being lightweight keeps me from damaging it amd makes it better altogether.

Razer Blackshark V2 Headset
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not a Big Gamer, but I know what I like and I like this headset! Lightweight, but doesn't feel flimsy - Headstrap and cushions fit firmly, but not unpleasantly tight, like some others I've tried - Sound quality is excellent and does not break up or wash out at high volume (think Doom!) - Not 'cheap', but not crazy-expensive, either Hits the mark dead center, I think!

Very good sounding and extremely comfortable
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these to go with my gaming laptop as I wanted something lightweight, closed back and with a USB sound card and a 4 pole cable The sound quality is fantastic, I have Sennheiser Game Ones on my desktop and these are shockingly pretty close in terms of audio quality. The Sennheiser are better but I was shocked at how close the Razer can get. These have a fairly neutral-warm sound stage that can punch pretty hard with the bass when necessary but are not typical bass head cans. I'd say the microphone is the bigger difference. The razer one is just ok. Not spectacular but it's not a huge deal breaker, my friends can understand me fine and there isn't a lot of background noise coming through but it's a bit thin sounding. Comfort wise they're very light and have minimal clamping force. I didn't find them overly hot or anything either. The controls are easy to find and feel good Software wise I find synapse to be one of the better easier to use options. The THX spacial audio is pretty good if you like that thing (I do not) Overall for under 100 a super solid headset with great audio quality

Lightweight, great sound and mic!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazingly light headset with a solid mic. Got it on sale during Xmas and it was a steal at $79. It's as light as the standard Kraken with much much better sound and mic. THX is also a bonus and works reasonably well. Ultimately I returned it for the wireless, but an amazing headset.....highly recommend it! Even at normal price.
